  1. I don't think that, as fans, we know how to properly rate players defensively. People think Mings makes more mistakes than others, but is that because he does, or is it that mistakes made 10 yards in front of your own goal are far more noticeable? When a midfielder or attacker makes the same mistake 75 yards away from the goal and it leads to a counter, or a chance, we don't hold it against them the same way we will if the defender is too slow getting back afterward. I think Mings is fine. I don't think he's brilliant. I don't think he's awful. I think he's an above-average Premier League center back.
  2. I'm a Napoli fan. Ruiz is the better player with a much higher ceiling. Zielinski runs hot and cold.
  3. If Forest signed Lingard to a two or three year deal I'd think it was a mistake, but if it's only one year, there's no real harm. They aren't stuck with him if they go down, and if he helps them finish 17th or better, it was well worth it for them.
  4. The 12-15 year olds are on shit we don't even know about. Twitter is adults. Adults are just children who know more words.
  5. I've always felt Depay was better as a forward than a striker, if that makes sense. I don't know how he'd fit here. In my mind he's a logical replacement for Dybala at Juventus to play up front with Di Maria, Vlahovic and Chiesa.
  6. What I love about the pages upon pages of Tammy vs Ollie debate in this thread is that there's no indication Tammy even wants to leave Roma. It's like two guys fighting over a girl who married a different man two months ago.
  7. Dybala is going to Roma to play as a second striker/10 behind Tammy. Zaniolo will be the one leaving.
  8. I know it was only 45 minutes of a friendly, but I'm comfortable enough to declare that Boubacar Kamara is the greatest player to ever grace God's green Earth.
  9. What could you realistically get for Guilbert at this point? He's more valuable to you as bench depth than he is on the transfer market. Makes far more sense to keep him and then let him walk next summer. It's not as if the club spent £25 million on him.
  10. Romano clearly has plenty of sources. The problem is they're nearly all agents, and agents sometimes lie. Still, him sharing the information is valuable to a fan if you can figure out how to parse the bullshit from the real stuff. Anybody who has been reading the tea leaves around Carney for the last year isn't surprised by any of this.
  11. Do it. He's going to leave anyway. Use the money toward getting another mid for this year.
  12. Not you, though. You said they were done.
  13. We do not want Belotti. Believe me. He's not good enough to play in this league. He had one outstanding season. Nearly 40% of his goals have come on penalties the last four seasons. In open play he posts worse numbers than Watkins and Ings do, but in an easier league.
  14. Wolves are loaning Silva to Anderlecht for the season.
  15. Jack's goal against West Ham to secure survival.
  16. Not speaking to his overall quality, but Monza isn't your typical newly-promoted Serie A club. It's owned by former Italian Prime Minister and AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi. They're spending like a club that plans to stick.
  17. He's gone. Like I said earlier, there's a reason he hasn't agreed to an extension.
  18. I'm not trying to do any such thing. I simply quoted you quoting somebody else to explain to them what you thought another person meant by what they posted, and I responded directly to your comment that he's a "stat padder."
  19. Gallagher scored twice in a 2-2 draw against West Ham. He scored twice in a 3-1 win over Everton. He scored and assisted in a 2-0 win against Man City. He scored in a 2-0 win over Wolves. He scored Palace's lone goal in a 1-1 draw at Brighton. And he scored a goal in a 4-1 win over Watford. Lord how I'd love somebody to pad stats like that in a Villa shirt. I'm not here to argue he's the second coming of Christ, but people just come on here and say things just to say them sometimes.
  20. Conor Gallagher scored more Premier League goals this season than Conor Hourihane scored for Villa since we were promoted.
