  1. While he's going of his own accord, he's also doing Jorge Mendes a tremendous favor. Mendes can now point to Neves as evidence when he claims a Saudi team has made a big offer for his other clients if they're skeptical the player would take it. As for the Saudis, much like PSG did with the Neymar transfer, they're trying to inflate the market even more so that soon only nation states can even afford transfer fees. Just like the PIF did to the PGA. Enjoy European football while you can.
  2. Yet, here you are, in a thread about transfer rumors.
  3. If every scout was as intelligent as you seem to think they are, there'd never be a bad signing.
  4. You always say they're garbage, but you never explain why. Won't argue for Bailey because he's unreliable. Rarely healthy, and when he is, he's inefficient. The Buendia thing I find curious. He scored five goals, and led the team in shot creating actions per 90 and was third in goal creating actions per 90. Defensively, he led the team with tackles in the attacking third. No, he's not a great tackler, and he loses a lot of challenges, but he also ATTEMPTS MORE CHALLENGES than anybody else on the team. He contributes to the attack, and he defends and presses. None of which is to say he's a world class player. He's not. Nor is it to say he cannot be improved upon. He can. But this idea that he's "garbage" seems so off-base.
  5. Me returning to Villa Talk when the transfer window opens
  6. Albert Moleiro because let's be honest. Which one of these sounds like the name of a great player? ALBERT MOLEIRO or Alex Scott? It's never the guy with two first names.
  7. Not at the money they're after. He was supposed to be the next great Italian but injuries have sapped him of a lot of what made him so enticing. Personally, I don't see him ever becoming more than an above average player on a solid team. If he hadn't been such a hyped prospect before, the price wouldn't be anywhere near what it is.
  8. Have to disagree. I think part of the problem some fans have with Buendia is they expected him to be an attacking force based on what he did at Norwich. He hasn't been. However, what he has been, and what provides value to this team, and is the reason Emery won't be in any hurry to get rid of him, is his play off the ball. A forward who can do this will always be useful to a manager who is tactically flexible, and will always have a place.
  9. Too busy developing sources to learn photoshop. That's the true sign of a journalist. The better their graphics, the less reliable. I'd have thought you knew that.
  10. If you want it to be true, it's reliable. Platinum Tier Source.
  11. That seems like more of a Coutinho thing to me.
  12. Too similar to Bailey without being an upgrade. He'd provide more width and pace, which we need, but I worry about him not being able to crack the rotation of a club in desperate need of production.
  13. Could be good for his development to get some time in the Championship.
  14. Yes, we need more exotic names, like Smith, Jones, and Wilson.
  15. Vlahovic will have his eyes on bigger things than us at the moment, but if there is anybody on Juventus we like, now is the time to strike. They need money.
  16. What caveats? When Ings plays, he scores a lot more often than Ollie has. Ollie has 3 goals on an xG of 5.4 this season. In his Villa career, Ollie has 28 goals on 30.9 xG. He's consistently underperformed and isn't a great finisher. Ings is on 4 non-penalty goals on 3.8 xG. He's the better finisher of the two. Ollie does more overall, but we still need somebody to score the goals.
  17. Non-penalty goals per 90 this season Ings: 0.44 Ollie: 0.19
