  1. Not a big fan of Bailey, but these are the matches he should be starting. Arsenal will have the ball. His pace and ability to beat defenders 1 v 1 will come in handy on counters tonight. Hope he makes the most of it.
  2. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying everybody is pissed off. I didn't say they didn't have a right to be. Your defensive response only further confirms my point.
  3. I love the mental state of this board right now. We could be linked to prime Zinedine Zidane and at least 10 people would be on here calling him shit within minutes.
  4. I get all that, but Dougie doesn't make sense to me for how they play. I would think Tielemans makes a lot more sense as a Milner replacement.
  5. Atletico Madrid I can see. Liverpool I don't buy for a second.
  6. Gerrard wants to control possession and dominate matches with his formation, yet he's built a squad much more suited to a 3-5-2 counterattacking style.
  7. Tuchel is Gerrard with a much larger budget. Refuses to change his approach no matter how evident it is that he should, and hopes throwing money at the problems will solve them.
  8. Fire Gerrard and then sell Bailey. We'll be better off, as the Eredivisie is Leon's level, plus we can be rid of the headache that his father will be. Who was the last player represented by a parent that wasn't a headache?
  9. From Craig Dawson's FB Ref page, so at least we know how the scouting department works
  10. You responded to me giving you information about how often Leon Bailey loses possession with this If you're up for explaining exactly what point you were hoping to make with these statements if you weren't directly comparing them, I'd appreciate it. Because it reads as if you're saying Bailey's struggles are all Gerrard's fault because now that Haaland is playing well, it's been proven everybody from Germany should play well unless Gerrard destroys them.
  11. You just did when you used Haaland as an example to prove some kind of odd point that Leon Bailey is great, it's Gerrard's fault he's struggled because Haaland is good. I'm responding directly to your gibberish.
  12. Leon Bailey is not, nor will he ever be, Erling Haaland. If you think they're one and the same there probably isn't any reason to further this discussion.
  13. In 180 Premier League minutes this season the majority of his work has been done on the right even if he hasn't been playing "right wing." He's had 105 touches. He's lost possession 42 times. Only Coutinho, Kamara, McGinn, Cash and Digne have lost possession more, and they've all had far more touches. He hurts more often than he helps.
  14. I know I'll be in the minority here, but I'd happily cash in on Leon Bailey before his value sinks. He's incapable of doing anything when we're in possession. His strength is using his speed on counter attacks. Any time he's asked to break down a defense that's in position he just dribbles into two defenders and loses the ball or hoofs a cross to nowhere. Unless he's in full sprint, or facing a League One defender, he's not much different than Traore.
  15. He's not a star, but he would be nice to have here as a reliable alternative to Ramsey who just isn't consistent from week to week. As for his time at Juve, he does not fit with what Allegri seems to be trying to do. Keep in mind, I have no idea what Allegri is trying to do. It seems nobody does, including his players.
  16. It's also one of the reasons they've played so poorly. Had to play a lot more matches without the depth required to do so. They got tired.
  17. Define worse? I think both can be incredibly annoying, but I think you're far more likely to wind Zaha up than Bruno. That's why he's never been red carded but Wilf has.
  18. My only concern is his height, but I'm with you. There's a lot to like.
  19. I like Tanganga. I'd be happy for him to join the competition at CB as well as a possible backup for Matty at RB. Good with the ball both carrying and passing. Something we're missing there.
  20. If that Owen guy reporting the Crystal Palace interest in Sarr and Soumare were saying something about Villa this board would dismiss him as a nobody, so I'm not sure why anybody is putting stock into what he's saying about Palace.
  21. Thing to be positive about: I don't have to watch Aston Villa today.
  22. Ismaila finally got around to watching yesterday's match.
  23. I don't have any specific replacement in mind if/when it happens, but I won't feel any differently than I did when Smith was sacked. If you're talking a big game about competing for European spots, hire a manager who has proven he can get there, or at the very least has proven he can get the most out of a team. The system isn't important to me. Hiring somebody with the experience and ability to manage a club, both in the locker room, in training, and on the pitch are what matters to me. That was always my problem with the Gerrard hire, and why I was skeptical when it was the direction we chose. He had success at Rangers, but he never had to prove himself as a manager of a club that wasn't guaranteed to finish in the top two of its league.
  24. So because he reported there was a chance Carney would leave three months before it happened, but got the team wrong, you don't trust him? I hope you don't hold the prognosticators of this board to the same standard.
