  1. We spent £8.75 million on a player who worked his tail off for four seasons, pressed relentlessly, scored 10 goals, including a couple of massive ones, and you're saying he's a shit footballer we massively overpaid for? What in the world are you on about?
  2. Anything better than £7.5 million would be tremendous. I'd settle for £5 million.
  3. Do we know fans of any club who don't overrate their youngsters? Every 16-year old is the next Messi.
  4. I do not want him to leave Napoli, but I don't think he fits what the current manager is looking for, and I would love for him to join Villa. But I don't see it happening. My understanding is he'd much prefer to play in Spain if he's leaving Italy.
  5. No, but not because I don't think he's a good player. I think a lot of what he's best at is already accomplished by Coutinho and Buendia. I just think United being a shitshow clouds how good of a player he is. Put him on a team that doesn't have its head a few miles up its own ass and he'll be more consistent too.
  6. Pogba certainly isn't the only talented player to show up at United and struggle. There's no plan there. He's far from perfect and sometimes tries to make the spectacular play instead of the easy one, but by all accounts, he's a terrific teammate, and when in a situation with stability or direction -- like, say, the French national team -- he flourishes.
  7. Yes, but only 8 were in open play. He's averaged roughly 0.38 non-penalty goals per 90 the last two seasons and 0.35 non-penalty xG per 90 as well. In other words, he's not all that different than what we have. Just a bigger name and salary.
  8. Somewhat relieved, to be honest. Wasn't comfortable with the idea considering the allegations of assault against him.
  9. Depay depending on da pay? I'll pass. He's going to be expensive coming from Barcelona, and if you look at his record, he's bossed in the Eredivisie and Ligue 1, but was somewhat ordinary in La Liga while playing on one of the best teams in it. Wouldn't risk him here.
  10. He's the one I'm highest on at the moment (I thought he did an excellent job against Germany), but I refuse to fall in love again. I've been hurt too many times before.
  11. Maybe, but I've seen far too many young Italian strikers have an excellent season, get hyped as a savior, and then flame out.
  12. He was told from a very young age that he would be the great Italian striker we've long waited for and so far he's taken that to mean he doesn't have to work to make it happen.
  13. Please no. Believe me, whether it's Belotti or Kean, we don't want Italian strikers.
  14. The same thing everybody else in America does: Watch the NFL.
  15. I'm saying we may be bringing him in to play more of a midfield role. But I also said I don't think it's likely. Was merely pointing out he isn't an outright winger these days.
  16. Wouldn't discount the Yannick Carrasco links entirely. He was playing more of a wingback/left-sided midfielder role as the season progressed. Don't think it's likely, but if we're looking at him, it might not be to play as a forward.
  17. My initial reaction to the news, and it's nothing but pure speculation: Her ex still plays for the national team and she's not interested in dealing with all that right now.
  18. The league plays during the spring/summer/fall. The weather is no different here than in the UK. They play on artificial turf because many teams play in stadiums not built specifically for the sport. Also, because it's cheaper, and MLS is as cheap as it gets unless you're an aging star from Europe looking for a casual retirement.
  19. Exactly the kind of player we should be looking at to backup Digne. A lot of the same qualities. Probably not somebody we want to depend on to play major minutes right away, but somebody who could learn from Digne and eventually push him for the starting job.
  20. He's proving to be an old school CB. Useful defensively, but hasn't shown much ability with the ball at his feet, so he's never going to play at Chelsea. He'd be a good fit for a team like Burnley.
