  1. i would like to see guzan as our no1, and if given was dropped for guzan, i wouldnt mind but this isnt to say that i dont rate given, hes still a top keeper, but by the time givens contract is us, guzan will be 30, is he prepared to wait til then? if were building towards the future which we have been for 10 yrs already, then guzan certainly needs more games
  2. im not sure we could afford to give him another season to prove himself, if we sell now, we could get around £2m for him which could go towards a better DM, if we wait another season, other clubs might then see hes not quite good enough to buy, and we wont sell, just like beye, which in turn will cost us more money in wages and lost money from sale
  3. tbh, ive just looked at what we got left, all i can see is 5 bore draws and the rest are losses, i really cant see a win coming from anywhere
  4. no from me he was an awful choice, and even though we need to build long term, it starts with the right manager and coaching staff, and mcleish certainly isnt that guy, players dont want to play for him, supporters dont want to support him he will have to seriously turn this around to impress us, dire football can be excused for more wins
  5. were screwed! i really hope that cuellar can read what c0ck up collins is going to do next to be able to prevent it, and with warnock and hutton, what chance do we have now except to kidnap all the decent strikers were likely to face till the end of the season? lol
  6. so for those of us who do like the game and still enjoy playing it... lol can anybody help me or guide me to the right place to update this game and get the kids onto the team? cheers
  7. all that goes through my mind is that how right the small heatheans were about him, they gloated, laughed and said we would play negative dull football how right the were look what youve brought us to alex
  8. if we dont go down this season, we will next there might be 5 teams worst than us this season, but come next yr, there will be 3 new teams coming up who will no doubt strengthen more than us, and so will the surviving 2 from the 5 19th is my prediction for next season
  9. i was going to type quite a long post here, but ive deleted it to keep it simple give him a chance, all kids make mistakes, you dont learn by doing things right, i do agree though that youngsters should start, except maybe albrighton as i hes the only right wing option we have, and hes great prospect
  10. if we dont strengthen properly in the summer, then its possible next season, weve escaped it a few times, but under this manager, its a huge possibility, the guy hasnt got a clue, other clubs just dont respect or fear us, they beat us for fun if/when we go down, it will be the worst thing ever, financially, reputation will take a hit, and c'mon, all of us on here will have to listen to those knuckle draggers from across the city for a year, can we really put up with that?
  11. sorry to bring this back up, but theres no point making a new thread i notice that theres alot of villa youngsters not on the game, baker, bannan, gardner, herd, weimann and now stevens, all these i would like to add to my game, does anyone know how easy it is to create these or if its possible to download files etc to add to the game? cheers
  12. warnock is our only option... clark, baker and now stevens, arent ready to be thrown in the deep end and play a permentant LB role, stevens might not be ready till next season, clark prefers Cb and does ok at DM, and baker im not to sure on tbh
  13. one keeper i wish we hadnt got rid of was sorensen beye is just the latest of flops we pointlessly signed, and he wont be the last, theres no doubt doing to be more, this club will never learn and move away from buying cr*p beye, although no fault to him, was never needed, we all know this, so why didnt mon and randy?
  14. whos been our biggest club sponsor? as im not a gambling man, and never have been, im not too keen on having casinos or betting outlets as sponsors, but each to their own i guess, as long as it brings the money in
  15. i wear when he broke in to the villa team he said he wanted to be the next viera (but dont all young centre mids say that?) either way, hes proved to us that hes not good enough, an i suppose now that leeds wont be buying him? (although would probably be quite happy to take him on a free?)
  16. tbh, theres no need to be harsh about is ability, we all know that he wasnt quite good enough for the level that we wanted, its unfortunate that he wasnt given the chance, but still, these things do happen, hes getting on now so i hope he can find another peak of ability before he is set to retire shame he wasnt good enough but we did need to get him off the books
  17. from looking at that picture, with seating still in place as such, its not going to create that much more space for more people, not only that, but even if villa could even fill it, which is still unlikely, then why would anybody want to be cramped up and squashed amongst other people? i certainly dont want people bumping into me and nudging me when ive paid to watch a came in reasonable comfort at the stadium villa cant even fill what we got, despite the north stand at some point needing redevelopment (no matter how much paint you slap on it its still going to look like a tower block) so a standing area with potentially more area, ha, no chance
  18. does anybody know the contract conditions of this loan? ie, whether villa are being mugs and still paying the full whack of his wages or are leeds contributing?
  19. albrighton is better than routledge, full stop
  20. harsh reality, id prefer to sell petrov than ireland its nothing against petrov, as hes a great player for us, but age isnt on his side, if we sold petrov, then wed have ireland and gardner as our 2 attacking centre mid options, if we sold ireland, and with not many seasons left in petrov, we will end up with only gardner, and considering we have no money to buy anyone else, its kinda shooting ourselfs in the foot
  21. im sure i remember him being highly considered as a talent when he was breaking through what happened?
  22. maybe so, im not doubting givens ability, hes been one of the best for years, a great keeper in fact, but whos to say what would of happened if brad had played? and to be fair, just because given was back fit, he shouldnt of gone straight in yesderday has just made brads mind up for him
  23. he is good and he should be in the team he works hard, constantly on the move, taking on players and whipping crosses in, he might not be fast, but he gives his all, if only the rest of the team did id say hes the best youth midfielder we have in the team at the moment, hes no milner or young (yet) but hes filling in there quite well, that shouldnt be taken away from him
  24. its another example our managers inept man management skills, his wording is all this has been wrong, as well as his actions, he is now responsible for us losing probably the best 2nd choice keeper in the league given is a good keeper, but hes 35, guzan has been brill over the past 7 games, hes only 27, he should not of been dropped straight away, simply unfair, we will now lose him for nothing in a few months as he will go else where, and there will be enough clubs interested to make him number 1 after seeing him play the last 7 games with no money to replace him, randy isnt going to want to spend money on a bench player, what do we do? marshall is far too old, we just let go our 'third' place keeper, so theres nobody clever planning by AMc!
