  1. theres no doubt this is going to be a thrashing, with us getting thrashed and given a lesson
  2. wasnt he said to be one of the best left wingers in the prem when we signed him? somebody was playing tricks on us...
  3. could all this be a reflection though of petrov looking good in comparison to our other centre mids? makoun, ireland, delph, neither these 3 are anything to excited about
  4. has this already been mentioned that bannan is now the new face of WM police xmas anti-drink campaign? he apparently earns £10k per week, far too much for a fringe youth player imo, but maybe im getting old now to value money? obviously bannan has decided to do this himself, fair play to him, although what about the profile of the club?
  5. i am of the opinion that we shouldnt play more than 2 kids a a time on the pitch, i also believe that we DEFINITELY shouldnt play 2 kids in midfield, its risky, i would pick albrighton over bannan every time i too cant quite see the hype over bannan just yet, im not saying hes no good or i dont like him, etc, i just think albrighton is already better at the moment
  6. i dont agree with a 3 man centre midfield, never have no matter who it is, especially 2 kids, but i do agree that petrov needs freedom to attack and not be restricted to covering the back line if we had a decent midfielder sitting behind petrov, you would only need one to add, the wingers should be tracking back and helping as well, dont give them an easy ride
  7. i stopped going to the games a few months before oneill left when things started to go down hill, mainly because i can no longer afford it, the current manager and the squad performances dont deserve our support, some of the players do however for their hard work, but theyre on far too much to even realise if we arent in the stands its a sad season for villa
  8. could somebody tell me please what type of midfielder ireland is? ie, defensive minded or attack minded? thanks
  9. would we be having these views about him had we signed him the first time we tried? its unfortunate that he makes so many errors when we would expect better from him, i dont know what to say to suggest that theres a positive side for him being in the team every first teamer must know that their positions are safe, hence their poor performances?
  10. just to add to this discussion buying makoun with no intention of really giving him a chance and playing him for a long enough stretch to adapt, is a costly decision, the same with the djemba twins and im sure there was another midfielder under the same scenario?? where do we need to look for a solid, non nonsense, reliable, CHEAP defensive mid?
  11. general consensus... sell or loan out (again)?
  12. when people high in business positions are still lining their pockets with bad decisions, they dont care about the outcome, step forward faulkner just look at bank managers for other examples
  13. fair point lads, theres no one else experienced enough maybe hand it to given? maybe not have a captain at all?
  14. what if he does? hes younger and less experienced, could be more costly
  15. true oh how we can dream cahill still played for us
  16. problem is, not only do all of us have different opinion of the team deadwood, but im sure AM also has a different opinion of this, which is a scary thought whether we like it or not, AM and the deadwood is here to stay
  17. we have no better RB, maybe lichaj? and no money to buy another RB were stuck with him regardless
  18. i agree with the above despite him being one of our best players, take the captaincy off him so he can concentrate on his own game and not worry about the other players, to which hes not very good at doing anyway captaincy to dunne
  19. i was just about to reply thinking about cueller ive never been a fan of him, but hes got to be better than collins surely?
  20. fans against the chairman fans against the manager fans against the players the chairman not prepared to do his job properly the manager not knowing how to do his job properly the players not interested in doing their job properly the club simply cannot continue like this, its a steady slop downwards to which there will be no come back if this was to happen in any other job or industry, people would be losing their jobs very quickly without hesitation
  21. just avoid relegation, bottom half
  22. maybe i should boycott the other half, maybe then my bank account would feel better? lol poor team selection, poor team to select from AM had nothing to work with today, its a shame we rely so much on 2 players
  23. its only just dawned on me that most managers, generally, like to sign a player from their previous club (you know whats coming here) so who will AM try to sign from small heath come january?
  24. the last time this club listened to fergie, we lost out on signing one of the best strikers in the league i hate the scottish
  25. finding a better replacement will be a tough challenge for any manager looks like were stuck with him regardless always been a fan of robert huth myself
