  1. sorry, i should have been more clearly, i werent saying that they should make the first 11, but instead actually be apart of the first team, to which they could replace some of the fringe first team players. they would gain much experience in the championship, and of course if we can bounce back up on the first attempt, some of them will prove their worth.
  2. the one thing villa supporters are constantly mocked for, living in the past, we last won anything important over 30 years ago and it doesn't look likely the club will win anything like that ever again, football is more about money than it is about talent.
  3. because everyone thought he was going to be good. myself and my work colleague were pleased upon the arrival of a third person to our department, we was assured he was good with a glowing cv to prove it, he started ok but wasnt willing to balance the work load, he was always late and snook out an hour early every day because he couldnt be arsed to do his hours, he has now been made surplus to requirements, we now regular see him posting rubbish on fb, he doesnt have a new job yet... my point is this, most people seem good appointments at the beginning until they show their true colours, everyone can blag a cv.
  4. so, in short, is the club going to have to wait till the day after were relegated before the club can sack him?
  5. sooo, yet more people on the board, we must have more directors than any other club, the club doent need yes men, is anybody going to listen to brian little, or they going to pull their heads out of their ar*es and do as he says? the club needs money, not to be spending yet more money on directors wages when the club is bring relegated, makes no sense.
  6. what a great age to get to. RIP
  7. the club has to stop signing 'stop gap' players, signing has beens over 30yrs old has done more harm than good (with only a couple of decent signings) if the club signs yet more stop gap players itll just hinder more the progress of the kids goalkeeping, get steer and siegrist in, defence, get donacien and kinsella in, midfield, get green, mason, lyden and calder in, up front, get robinson and sellers in, thats 10 players that will already be better than whats currently in the first team.
  8. they would probably want the remainder of their contracts paid up in full including any potential bonuses. hutton will be worth keeping next season, he tried hard and unlike most of the players, hes settled
  9. i was hoping veretout was one that would be staying and come good. we all know that what ever player leaves, the next club they go to, they will be the player they should have been here, this club is f**king corrupt, every player is turned into sh*t.
  10. i find this post to be an intersting opinion, and one im now more inclined to agree with. we may well be the biggest sleeping giant to grace the championship, but even mediocure players wont want to come to us i cant name drop any decent players from these two leagues, but im about to go have a mooch through the league tables to see whats about, what is obvious is that we will be playing high flying burton next season...
  11. we would all like to see near enough a new starting 11, but the board have made it clear they dont plan on spending much, but then, im bordering speculating seeing as there has been no mention of improving the first team. we can all definitely see a fair few youths make the step up to save money, like lyden and mason maybe, but what cant be hidden, and the board need to accept, a new keeper, centre back and striker are urgently needed the most, with a right back, defensive mid and an attacking mid not far behind.
  12. but still none of those players were of 'international' quality, gabby and cahill only had flashes of what they could achieve, ok maybe cahill excelled a little more going to chelsea but it was chelsea coaches that made him better.
  13. even though we cant fault the coaches for the hard work they do at the academy, they are however to blame for not producing the stars that we should be seeing from the youth team maybe its a time for academy coaches as well as directors
  14. Keep: (or who we can keep) Hutton, Okore, Clark, Amavi, Cissokho, Baker, Bennett, Traore, Westwood, Veretout, Grealish, Sinclair, Gil, Ayew, Gestede Get rid of: Guzan, Bunn, Bacuna, Crespo, Richards, Lescott, Richardson, Sanchez, Gueye, NZogbia, Agbonlahor, Kozak Promote: Steer, Siegrist, Lyden, Lyons-Foster, Donacien, Toner, Kinsella, Green, Mason, Gardner, Calder, Robinson, Sellers, Hepburn-Murphy Buy: new gk, new dm, new cf ------------------ new gk ------------------ ---- hutton - okore - clark - amavi ---- traore - new dm - veretout - grealish -------------- ayew - new cf -------------- keeper, someone like myhill or olejnik, ex villa youths that have matured centre back, difficult to say, nobody would want to come to use, i was always keen to see adboulaye ba join us when we were linked, might pursued gana to stay as well defensive mid, see 'centre back', maybe rohan ince or tom huddlestone striker, again, see 'centre back'
  15. this club has wasted millions buying average players who had reached their peak and pushed out talented youths who would of peaked higher and cost us less, well, free, we should of kept gary cahill and marc albrighton, i liked zat knight but cahill shouldnt have been chopped for him. even though the board will avoid spending any money in the summer, the club kind hind the fact that the first team needs a new keeper, centre back, defensive midfielder and a striker, a new spine basically. and the club needs to stop sarificing the youngsters for average players.
  16. did anyone else genuinely think he was going to be good for us? with his england and man city fames and how we managed to snap him up on a free, it seemed to be a deal of the century, but this is villa, and of course, something is always too good to be true, hes turned out awful and im more disappointed in him than angered at him. i reckon we might struggle to off load him, however if we can get £5m for him then that needs to go on a proper right back and a proper centre back, a captain, a leader.
  17. nobody wanted to buy this club whilst we was in the premiership, nobody is definitely going to not want to buy us in the championship, that greedy american is wanting too much, despite the fact hes ruined this club. ~ drop the whole board, hire just an ops manager, give all transfer decisions to the manager, and manager only
  18. why is lescott being picked? hes the problem
  19. i hate the 5-3-2 formation, but even though it was our most successful period (under jg) playing this formation, it also felt it held back a bit and always wondered how much more we could of won had we played more attacking. but im not taking anything away from it as it was reasonably successful for us, so to implement that formation again with slightly better players than we have no, we might have a fighting chance. barry and ehiogu for example played better in a 3 man defense, hendrie played better in a 3 man midfield, its clear westwood is too weak to play in a 2 man midfield, so lets see where it goes next season in the championship :-)
  20. steer, siegrist, lyden, lyons-foster, donacien, mason, kinsella, calder, robinson, seller and hepburn-murphy, even gardner all deserve a chance in the first team next season for sure, it will be disapointing to see any of them leave.
  21. none of us can question bunn as a nice guy, im sure he is, but a premiership keeper he is not, he was never good enough, and i wouldnt trust him in the championship either. just imagine where we would be had we signed the croatian keeper, amavi didnt get injured, and benteke and delph had stayed... thats depressing.
  22. another player with largely mixed opinions, his passing is good sideways and backwards but not forwards, hes good at reading a game but has no strength and gets pushed off the ball. cant see anybody wanting him come summer.
  23. half the team looks good on paper (the other half clearly doesn't) however, all of the first team are low on morale and confidence, even those that we know can perform, aren't. something is clearly going on in the dressing room, after all the managers the club has gone through, that's clearly not the problem, so there's no way we can go into next season with the same squad, we still won't see where the next win will come from if that's the case. new keeper new rb - new cb - clark - amavi traore - new dm - veretout - grealish ayew - gestede
  24. as much as most us would like to see many of the u21s step up, think we still need some experience, other wise we will drop then drop again.
  25. AndyBM

    Adama Traore

this is one id like to see us keep and help us get back up, cant see it though, hes one of the better players in the squad.
