  1. Fancy them to beat United in a couple of weeks time
  2. We’ll be giving that to Digne next Friday.
  3. I sometimes wonder how the season would have played out if Mings hadn’t got injured. There is a part of me that thinks Torres being thrown in like he was, was a good thing for Villa as he had to adapt and grow into a PL player very quickly. Obviously it would have happened regardless of Ty’s injury, I believe it just expedited the process. Would Mings and Torres have been our first choice? Tough to say because I know Emery likes a right and left footed partnership. If you watch the way we play, you’d understand why that is so important. Fascinating to see how Mings comes back from the injury. One of my favourite ever Villa players for sure
  4. Still blows my mind that the national team coach thinks Maguire is a better player than Konsa. Konsa is vastly, vastly superior.
  5. All the analogy’s he uses when the opposition scores.
  6. I’ve met him a few times. Nice guy. It’s all an act and a lot of it is scripted. He does what he does and he makes money doing it. Fair play I say.
  7. Odd post. You’re arguing something you have no knowledge of without having any proof otherwise.
  8. We won’t be selling 2/3 great players. One at most id suspect. Depends how brave they want to be. The key players not to sell are Martinez Watkins McGinn Konsa Torres The reason being, I think we’d struggle to replace them with the money we have. Oddly enough, I feel as though it will a lot easier to replace the likes of Luiz, Bailey and Ramsey than it would those due to the individual traits that make them very, very good players. Position and cost of players in that position also need to be factored in.
  9. Whatever he’s done, he’s absolutely f******. Reminds me of the Grealish saga. Something seriously wrong with his foot.
  10. It’s a lot different with Man City. A lot more politics at play. We’re talking about a nation state that invests a lot into the country and they’ll no doubt have politicians on the payroll. It would take a brave man at the PL to punish City as they should be punished. You can guarantee there will be a lot of creative thinking going on with the punishment. They’d probably take a 30 point deduction and a 1/2yr ban from European competitions at this point. It wouldn’t mean a whole lot as they’ll still finish in the top half of the table and the players could probably see past not playing in Europe for a season or two if it protects their inflated wages. City should be relegated, stripped of their trophies and the EFL should think twice about allowing them to enter their league structure. Like I say, this won’t happen because there will be some threatening conversations from the Emirati if they’re punished.
  11. Yep, probably agree. The sale of Ramsey, qualifying for the champions league and finishing 5th, you’d have to think that would seriously help with FFP. And that’s without the amount of trimming to the squad we’re likely to see in the Summer. The idea that Newcastle would sign Ramsey is a bit daft too. They’re on about selling Guimaraes and Isak themselves to comply. Why they'd then go and buy a left sided attacker when they have Gordon and Barnes is just stupid as they’d need to replace the players they've sold. I don’t agree with the way PSR works and I certainly don’t agree with this new luxury tax idea either. Ultimately, whatever is voted in will be with a view to avoid punishing Manchester City. The whole thing stinks, but whatever.

  13. I’m pretty relaxed about selling either Luiz or Ramsey to be honest. Both very good players but both can be replaced. Ramsey has barely featured all season and has been poor in a few of the matches he has and whilst Dougie is class, there are a plethora of top class central midfielders out there that I’m sure you could bring in to take his spot. I can’t get away from the idea that Rogers was brought in, in the knowledge Ramsey might be sold. If we are tight on FFP, which I think we are, we wouldn’t have spent that money in Jan unless it was proactive thinking knowing what needed to be done in the summer. Id rather not sell either but I’d be comfortable if we did.
  14. Beat Brentford and it’s done. We’d only need to win one more game all season after and even then I wouldn’t back United to catch us. In a couple of weeks time, I’m pretty sure we’ll know 5th is a champions league spot and we’ll have a much better picture as to whether we’ll be able to secure 5th - which you’d think we would be able to!
  15. There will be some interest in this lad in the Summer. He’s top, top class. He’d suit someone like City perfectly. Would cost a small fortune and doubt we’d sell.
  16. I refuse to be told when and when not to give up. I'll give up right now if I want to.
  17. Would probably signal the end of football in this country tbh. Honestly, I'd probably give up with it. We would spend more, undoubtedly, but it would just be the nation states competing against each other. Football is heading towards a f****** disaster in this country. Unless FFP is somehow changed, I don't know where this all ends up. The league is absolutely terrified of punishing Man City and the rules will change to reflect that.
  18. He's a couple of years younger than Ramsey. I really like Ramsey but I don't remember him performing as well as Rogers has in his first few top flight appearances. Granted, it was in a weaker team. Rogers is such an interesting player. He's got bags of ability and his physicality is just so rare in a player with his skillset. I kinda feel like, if he actually realises how good he is, brings a bit of arrogance to his game, he's going to become a monster of a player. I don't actually think he knows quite how good he is at present. PL experience will help with that. You can probably tell, I really like him. Fantastic business for £8m and even if he doesn't improve and kick on as we all want, we've got a helluva squad player for that amount of money given his age.
  19. We knew it could get messy. We just need to hope they don’t fancy scoring more because if they do, they will.
  20. Big game Saturday. Must beat Brentford. Couldn’t have cared less about this game or the Arsenal game, even less so when I saw the team sheet. We’ve given a good account of ourselves but this will likely end up 5 or 6. Fine. Now let’s go and do Brentford with hopefully, McGinn, Watkins, Martinez and Ramsey back.
  21. What on earth is that from Zaniolo. Absolute stupidity
