  1. Takes a big man to come out and say that. Most people would have had a go back at me! Just one of those days. We pick it apart behind closed doors and move on. This result won’t define our season.
  2. Don’t blame McGinn one bit tbh. Might be a red, might not be, but it was probably the result of everybody else being f****** s*** and him getting fed up. He has enough credit in the bank for me not to really care. Great player. Today has just been one great big shit show all round. Forget about it and move on.
  3. Whatever. Real shame because he’s been brilliant this season. We’ll really struggle over the next few games with him out.
  4. At some point, we’ll probably need to have a chat about his wages and his overall contribution.
  5. Time and time again I hear this word ‘bottled’. I try to ignore it, but I’ll bite here. Weve not bottled it, we’re just losing to a better team on the day and perhaps even a better side full stop. If they finish above us, it will be because they’ve been better than us over 38 games.
  6. Fine going in level at the break. Kick towards Holte second half. Diaby on for fresh legs. Maybe Moreno too.
  7. Not having Ramsey is a big blow. Messes our entire structure up. We need a pacey right footed winger in the summer. We’re too heavily stacked with left footed right sided players.
  8. I genuinely think our full strength versus their full strength would be a cracking game. Two very evenly matched sides. Not a lot to choose between the two. If I had to pick a ‘best XI’, it would likely look a bit like this. ——————Watkins—————— Son———Maddison———Bailey ————Luiz———Kamara———— Udogie—Torres—Konsa—Porro ——————Martinez——————— But you ask a Spurs fan and they’ll call you an idiot for leaving out VDV, Romero, Bissouma and Bentancur. We’ve done so well to catch up with them over the past couple of years, now we just need to finish the job off and finish above them. Nervous.
  9. I disagree with this. Surely it’s a bigger game for them than us? Lose, and there is a sizeable gap between us and them and they’ll be looking over their shoulders at Utd. Win, and they’re back in the race for 4th with us. It’s a bigger game for them, hence why I’d take a draw.
  10. I firmly believe that the key to us winning (or in fact, not losing), lies in whether Ramsey is fit or not. Not because Ramsey is some sort of superstar, but because he is a very good player and our entire team becomes unbalanced with him out. Tielemans isn’t athletic or dynamic enough to play off the left in my opinion and that gives us a massive headache. No Kamara means we can’t just throw McGinn out there and Bailey/Diaby prefer to play on the right or as a second striker. Team picks itself with Ramsey fit (Konsa at RB conundrum aside). Without Ramsey, I feel we become a lot weaker as a system and you have to start juggling. Won’t be easy today. They’re a good side and have an entire squad of fit players to choose from. I’d bite your hand off for a draw.
  11. It actually blows my mind how shite Utd are and yet they still seem to pick up points. I’ve been watching this match for 10 mins and Utd are chasing shadows.
  12. Spurs had history at WHL. Arsenal at Highbury. Everton at Goodison. Utd at Old Trafford. There’s talk of Newcastle moving from St. James. Plenty of talk over the years of Chelsea moving. History is great. Our history is great. But, we can’t let that hold us back. If the club can move and it’s the right move, we should explore it. We can’t be left behind. I don’t think our owners will allow it.
  13. He’s going nowhere on the wages he’s on.
  14. Moving to a new Villa Park is the only option for me. Christ, if United want to knock down a 75k seater stadium, there must be ridiculous commercial value in doing so. We have to move with the times. Bring me the Villa bowl!
  15. Huge news. May miss the Spurs game, fine, but having him back for the run in after is going to be massive. He’s looked a lot better these past two matches.
  16. I'm so worried 'Cuti' is going to get him..
  17. I disagree. We only go backwards if we're poorly run and spend the money badly. £100m for Luiz would represent incredible value.
  18. But he doesn’t though tbh. Thats the odd thing. I don’t see him use his physical attributes enough if you ask me.
  19. You're right, tbf. Had this conversation with somebody earlier. Martinez, Watkins and to a *slightly* lesser extent, Torres, will be virtually impossible to replace - certainly for less than a staggering amount of £. Luiz is replaceable because the pool of quality central midfielders is greater than quality strikers. And, I mean, how do you replace the best keeper in the world? I know some won't like to hear it but players like Bailey, McGinn, Konsa, Kamara etc. Yes, they're all fantastic, but there are better players out there, or certainly players as good, you've just got to find them.
  20. Why? Every player has his price. Even Watkins/Martinez etc. If somebody were willing to give us £100m+ for Watkins, I'm sure we'd do the sums on it. The problem with Watkins is, the pool of players from which you can replace his qualities is a lot smaller than say, Luiz. There are more quality central midfielders out there than there are top strikers. So, whilst we may entertain ludicrous offers, the club will be well aware he is near impossible to replace - hence silly money would need to be offered.
