If we can survive, I think there's a decent chance we could be a top 8 team next season. Benteke is playing well, enjoying his football and is the main man at a pretty big club. I hope he sees sense in staying for at least one more year.

Or Lerner is asking for more than the reported price.

He gets the ball, runs forward and usually makes a smart decision and executes it. He's doing that against top teams and important games. He's got some future.

But what does that matter now?

Are you being genuinely serious here pal? The only thing that I have seen from Sherwood since he arrived is a massive desire to see us stay in the Premier League and then to build from there. If he believed that Gil being in the team or on the bench would give us a better chance of doing that then he would be picking him. I only dip in and out of this thread as quite frankly Gil not currently seeing any game time is of no concern to me. The lad has played a handful of Premier League games. Looked very good in a couple and totally bullied out of the game against Hull and Stoke. I don't know why Sherwood isn't picking him but then I don't see the lad in training everyday and don't know how he is getting on as a 22 year old still settling in to a new country and new league. What I do know is that we are currently playing some cracking football, have just won two games against top six opposition and should for me have won the third, and that we have a manager and every single player getting game time giving every sinew to win every game between now and the end of the season. I can't speak for others but I'll back them all one hundred percent and not focus on why some lad who had been hit and miss in a handful of games is not currently getting a look in, For what it's worth though I think his time will come next season. I hope your right. Not even putting him on the bench though, with Cole and Weimann always there, personally a little harsh. Have you ever contemplated the idea that the issue is on Gil's side?

I actually thought today was his best defensive performance.

Didn't realise it at the time but he's just as much to blame as Richardson. He's playing better, but like Sanchez and Richardson, his good points are not much if he's costing us goals.

I was thinking the same thing today. What I've seen from Sherwood was what I though Lambert was going to bring.

This is what I'm really worried about.

The improvement in nearly all areas has been remarkable.

I think if we'd got rid of Lambert before Xmas, we'd be relaxed and looking forward to next season already.

I'm not bricking it but I'm worried. A few mistakes in the next couple of games that cost us and then all of a sudden pressure is on big time and confidence is gone.

We don't need lots and we should be able to spend some decent money. So it would be nice if we could bring in 3 quality players, along with cleverly and Sinclair.

It would be such a shame if we got relegated. With Sherwood and this squad we could actually have our first decent season in years.

He was ok. He's not a miss when he plays like that and he does it too often. Hopefully Gardner turns out to be a star so we don't have to watch Westwood or Sanchez play much next year.

Such a frustrating player. Pointless doing a few good things if he's going to cost us in nearly every game.
