  1. Being in Wales and with the Euros game on tonight, I'll be on whatever the pub is willing to pour into one of those 2-pint glasses. Had several 2-pint stouts on Saturday... rough aftermath, but totally worth it.
  2. They can learn from him too, but hopefully not any of the webcam stuff... In all seriousness though, the full backs AND wingers could benefit from his experience. Shrewd short term acquisition, even though there's still some ill-feeling there for some.
  3. Barcelona are willing to mess up their club by holding on Messi until he retires so they can eventually cash in on making some sort of Messi museum at Camp Nou. They're intent on it. It's bonkers and they'll go the way of AC Milan if they're not careful. They never really rediscovered their club identity after holding onto the likes of Maldini (and others) until he was 72.
  4. Some of you are acting like the SEC The real world applications for alt-coins are vast. You need only look at what Cardano is doing in Africa right now as an example. Also, a lot of financial institutions are teaming up with the coins which have actual uses (XRP, Cardano, Vechain, Zilliqa, etc) because, amongst other things, they provide the safest way to conduct large monetary trades. The elephant in the room is Bitcoin. Sure, you can buy things with Bitcoin, but this is just about its only real world use and, as such, has no long term value. Shops are starting to drop out from accepting them too (for example, my sister works at Lush and there's serious talk of them cutting ties with it. Tesla is another recent example). Nobody wants to work with it and it's bad for the environment. It's just not designed for anything else (nor can it be adapted), transaction rates are super slow, and it has an extremely shifty history. Of the major alt-coins, it's only a matter of time until it meets its Hindenburg moment.
  5. The first one I played was Pong on my cousin's Pong Machine. The first one I played which I owned was Defender II on the 2600:
  6. Do you mean 2 bonus points at 100 yards rushing, passing & receiving? All three, yeah? Easily added. Kickers can be reduced. I think the 4 passing/6 rushing TD points system was in-place before RGIII joined the league and started this era of hybrid QBs. I suppose 6 for rushing TDs was once rare for QBs, so yeah, it could do with updating. Decimals is an easy switch. I'm noting down all the suggestions as we go, so I'll be able to implement the consensus before we draft.
  7. Yeah, I've run a league since 2008 with this scoring system (It's a slight tweak on Yahoo's default system, although I was thinking of turning to decimal scoring for next season - this reduces the amount of tied games, but does give points for 1 to 9 yard plays) I'm also open to adding in a PPR element, if people want this. Passing Yards 20 yards per point; 4 bonus points at 300 yards; 6 bonus points at 400 yards Passing Touchdowns 4 Interceptions -1 Sacks -1 Rushing Yards 10 yards per point; 4 points at 150 yards; 6 points at 200 yards Rushing Touchdowns 6 Receiving Yards 10 yards per point; 4 points at 150 yards; 6 points at 200 yards Receiving Touchdowns 6 Return Yards 20 yards per point; 5 points at 100 yards Return Touchdowns 6 2-Point Conversions 2 Fumbles Lost -2 Offensive Fumble Return TD 6 Kickers League Value Field Goals 0-19 Yards 2 Field Goals 20-29 Yards 3 Field Goals 30-39 Yards 4 Field Goals 40-49 Yards 5 Field Goals 50+ Yards 6 Point After Attempt Made 1 Defense/Special Teams League Value Sack 1 Interception 2 Fumble Recovery 2 Touchdown 6 Safety 2 Block Kick 2 Return Yards 30 yards per point Points Allowed 0 points 10 (default starting value) Points Allowed 1-6 points 7 Points Allowed 7-13 points 4 Points Allowed 14-20 points 1 Points Allowed 21-27 points 0 Points Allowed 28-34 points -1 Points Allowed 35+ points -4 Extra Point Returned 2
  8. Ahh, okay. Well we'll give it until mid-June and if there's no sign of him, I'll crack on with setting it up. We're not going to be able to please everybody here, but were there any rule changes (points, etc) which were nearly unanimously agreed last season? Just thinking about the feedback we had. I know DEF scoring was a point of contention. My suggestion is we revert to (or, at least close to) the standard Yahoo points system. DEF starts on 10pts and goes up or down accordingly. It's far less of a swing then.
  9. I'm more than happy to set it up. It would be a shame to set a new one up (and therefore losing our records history), so was there any discussion over whether there would be a commish transfer from the old league? This way I won't have to collect all your emails for the invite too. @kkr the previous commish, right?
  10. I know it's usually a little early to start thinking about this now, but since we may be having a handover of Commish responsibilities, I'm thinking the extra time might be necessary? Did we decide who will be running the league? Again, I'm happy to do it (as I've been running leagues on Yahoo for 10+ years, so I know how it all works from a Commish/set up perspective), but if we already agreed on somebody, this is great also. Whatever works best. Looking forward to a (hopefully) controversy-free season!
  11. The market can be extremely volatile. The best thing to do is see what partnerships these coins are forming and go from there. Tweets (such and Elon's and whatnot) only really cause a short term spike. He set up accounts for his kids to hold Dogecoin, so he probably does it and then skims the profits from the inevitable spikes. Then buys back in when it inevitably dips. That's my theory anyway.
  12. Doge is okay, but ONLY if it's a short-term by/sell. I wouldn't hold onto it long-term hoping for anywhere close to Bitcoin/Eth level value. It has no real world use and it's current value is largely down to Elon Musk joke-hyping it on Twitter (he holds lots of useful crypto too, like Bitcoin/XRP, so Dogecoin is just him entertaining himself online) XRP and Cardano are the most promising at around a £1 (nice dip price on XRP at the moment) and have actual real world applications and partnerships. The guy behind Cardano is the guy who created Ethereum. VeChain is a nice dirt cheap long-term option with huge upside. Personally, I really like VeChain, XRP, Cardano, and even Theta in the long term.
  13. I hear what you're saying, but McNeil is the only bright spark in a team full of absolute sh*tehouses (roughing us up is largely how they beat us - like most of the teams who've beat us this season, actually. On this note, I'd like to see us get a Van Bommel-esq player this summer too). There's barely any creativity at Burnley so two goals from a 21 year old ain't all too bad. At Villa he'd get so many more opportunities to score/develop. I think he'd take his game to the next level at Villa.
  14. I'd be far happier with signing players who fit the system than signing big name individuals. Sure, it's exciting, but it doesn't always work. Cohesion over dis-jointed individualism every time. Happy to see more links to Dwight McNeil this morning. He's PERFECT for us. Easily the best player at Burnley (showed this class against us, sadly), suits our style, and is only 21. Reel him him!
  15. Yeah, fair. He's the proverbial human mattress.
  16. Dem mechanical knees are concerning though.
  17. Dallas LBs are looking tasty now. Shame about our CB situation. Mac Jones will be interesting once he supplants Cam.
  18. Dallas has gone far too long without a secondary. Looks like they have their eyes on Surtain II, so I'd be quite happy with this. If we go CB or OL with out first round pick, I think it'll be helpful. Either way, the Draft is always like a weird 2nd Christmas, haha.
  19. In the coming years Davis/Wesley and Watkins/Barry could form a Heskey and Owen style partnership. Davis/Wesley physically disrupting defences, creating space for Watkins/Barry to exploit with their speed and movement. I still think we should buy a world class (or as close to) striker this summer, but we still have an interesting project to develop if we don't.
  20. Why would you need five accounts? For cryptos not hosted by certain trading sites?
  21. XRP is the way forward (unless you have the money to throw on Ethereum). XRP will sky rocket as soon as the utterly baseless court-case against it is concluded (but hopefully not thrown out - resolution is better for the market value). It's a sleeping giant. Cardano has some interesting stuff in the pipeline too. Good team/endorsements behind it.
  22. Game: Katamari Damacy Sports game: Victorious Boxers (insanely underrated)
  23. Some games were just designed to be played on CRT. This tweet shows a great example of how crap old games can look on modern TVs: CRT Pixels on Twitter: "Mega Man X (1993, Capcom) - SNES Raw Pixels vs. PVM-20L2MD S-Video Mega Man X is quickly becoming another one of my favorite CRT examples. https://t.co/igUHPverLf" / Twitter
  24. It'll be interesting to see if Carolina actually provide Darnold with any semblance of a team because he certainly didn't have one with the Jets. He could be good, given the right protection/weapons/system.
