  1. Complete over reaction. Off the top of my head in recent years we've had Balaban, Bowery, Dawkins, Cartlon, Baros, Marleen Harewood, Stfan & Luke Moore, Marucs Allback, Nathan and ever that was masquerading as Pires! Its not high praise for Andi but he's been a better player for us than that lot
  2. I think it was an improved performance. Sadly that's still not enough to get us any points. However if we can continue to improve and the manager learns from the last two games we stand a good chance of staying up. I believe this because I think we're currently about the same level as QPR, Burnley, Leicester and Sunderland. And I think we're the only one of those teams who will improve. UTV.....keep the faith
  3. That was at home. True, looking for anything at this stage to inspire confidence! I remember KMACs team getting destoryed up there. Hopefully he's out for revenge.
  4. Hopefully it turns out like the Sunderland back in 2013. 1-6 with a Benteke hat trick to finally lift the gloom
  5. I still think he would if made it here if only given a chance. Wonder do we have a buy back clause.
  6. I think I'd go with Guzan Hutton.Okore.Clark.Richardson Sanchez Grealish Gil Delph Sincalir Benteke
  7. Going by the form guide we are the worst team in the league, the teams at the bottom are all battling since the start of the season where as we have been in free fall for what seems like forever. The way things are going reminds me of how we finished last season but this time we don't have the comfort of 30 odd points to rely on. I agree the teams at the bottom have most likely been battling all season but they haven't made a very good fist of it given that we would all acknowledge we have been dire yet find ourselves still well in the mix to survive. As I said earlier there are a few teams who have punched above their weight yet we have punched well below ours. Your right we are the worse team on current form but as much as the teams around us are, as you have stated battling, Leicester have won one of their last 6 and taken 3 points, QPR won one of their last 6 taken 4 points and Burnley and Sunderland have each won one of their last 6 taken 5 points. Put it this way at this stage would I rather be the team that has given their maximum and find themselves in deep shit or be the side that has under performed and find themselves in trouble? I'll take the latter especially now given we can perhaps gain some momentum under the leadership of a new manger and coaching staff. I admire your optimism but feel it's based on hope more than anything else. If Benteke hits form then I feel that will be what keeps us up, Burnley and Qpr each have in form strikers that are capable of getting them the goals needed to pick up the points where as we are stuck hoping that our main striker hits form but the reality is he looks hopeless. I also fail to see how sherwood would give any confidence for turning it around, he looked out of his depth vs Stoke. His tactics and line up were a big factor in how crap we were and the fact we only created 2 shots after going 1 up is really bad considering we have the players for counter attacking football and should of caused stoke alot more trouble. We didn't create a chance til the 88th minute after the goal, way below the type of performance we need to be putting in to get points out of games. Sherwood has been here a week! He has his backroom team in place since Friday. If we won I suppose you'd be saying he was the second coming? It's way too soon to judge him.
  8. We're adrift on goal difference! The minimum required to stay up is that we gain a point more than Burnley, QPR and Leicester do between now and the end of the season. Harbingers of doom relax! Having score just about half the goals everyone else has. Goal difference won't save us. It is really tight from 12th down, one win puts us on the same number as Everton, but there is plenty to be worried about. Hence I said a point more, which would put us ahead on points. Goal differnce would not come into it.

  10. I think Sherwood will have learnt an awful lot from that defeat. Other results have not punished us as much as they could have. He has a week to work with the players before we go to Newcastle. He needs to get them to be more competitive individually and he needs to bed in a game plan. I think we were unlucky not to get a point on Saturday and bizarrely I think that’s a slight improvement. I think he will shuffle the deck a little and by the time we face West Brom and Sunderland we will have an actual TEAM with actual TACTICS. Hers hoping anyway….UTV
  11. Stoke are on the back of two big losses. I imagine Hughes will change things, we won't be lucky enough to face that stupidly high line they played against Blackburn. If we did Gabby would destroy them. For that reason alone I think Gabby will start. I would never be overly confident playing Stoke. I don't think its necessarily a MUST WIN but a decent performance is certainly a must. Can't wait to see the line up and hopefully a more positive style of play. Welcome back KMAC A win would be brilliant. UTV
  12. Delighted KMAC is back. Great appointment
  13. Guzan has had a few dodgy moments this season, I think he'd admit that himself. I don't think there is a fear of him being dropped, he shouldn't be, but it’s no harm at all to see Given put in a MOTM performance and remind the Goose that he has competition.
  14. We haven't really seen that much of his talent when he's played, i think a loan is his best option right now where he can get regular first team football and develop his game. We’re in the depths of a relegation battle and have a squad that seriously lacks creativity. Loaning out Jack at this point would be ludicrous.
  15. We are actually worse than I thought. Look clueless out there.
  16. Always referred to as a 'Top Class Coach' - but results wherever he went were anything but top class...... Scott Marshall has said the new guy should be experienced - sounds like he trying to warn the club off someone - possibly sherwood I've mention Stuart before as a short term option. He has a decent history in caretaker roles and managed to save the owls from what looked like certain relegation. He's probably out of a job at Wednesday soon after their takeover. However it does seem that the club are looking at a long term appointment so it’s not going to be Stuart.
  17. I’m not criticising you here, I‘d just like to know how you formed the opinion that Laudrups Swansea reign was a disaster!? He won the league cup in his first season and they finished 8th. Their first silverware in 100 years. He was sacked in his 2nd season when they were in 12th. He changed their style from the impotent style Rodgers had them play to a more direct style while maintaining possession and pressing. He signed Michu, Chico Flores, Pablo Hernández, de Guzmán & Ki for less than Lambert spent here. If he came here and did that he would, in my view, be an absolute hero. I have no idea what it would take for you to call a manger a success. I’d really like it if you would explain why you think he was a disaster at Swansea and while you’re at it what you would expect a successful Aston Villa manager to achieve?
  18. I'd take Hoddle as a short term option.
