  1. If we are not going to play to his strengths then we should get rid. Use the cash to fund a bid for Andre Gray.
  2. Well compare it to Joe Bennett or Kozak and it looks a bargain. Nevermind the money splurged on crap the likes of Richardson, Tonev, Luna, Helenius, Sylla etc. And don’t even mention Charles!!
  3. Poor old Jack. He's giving it his all and is being let down by our terrible support! Go Jack!! Oh I see now, it's the 20 year old prospect that's to blame for our club sinking into the championship without a trace! Makes sense, let's boo him[emoji106]
  4. I think you will find he has cost us quite a lot to develop him, and will continue to do so. Would you care to put a figure on it. The unit cost of a 20 year old academy graduate at Villa?? Please do
  5. Some of the comments here are ridiculous but they’re what I’ve come to expect from a certain element on here. He has cost us nothing and has contributed more than some of the multi million pound flops currently rotting our club to its core. I cannot understand why he is the subject of your ire. He is a 20 year old product of our academy. Our club is a mess and his development has been handled by 3 different managers in 2015. How many in 2016 is anyone's guess? His talent is obvious but I wouldn’t put it past Aston Villa to f**k that up along with everything else. At least he can rely on the generous support of our fans!
  6. More likely to get picked playing for Villa than sitting in the stands at Chelsea. Would be a very good loan signing for us given our current plight. By the way Benzema is unlikely to ever play for France again.
  7. Awful lineup from Garde. We're an embarrassment. What's the point anymore?
  8. Good player, great attitude. Reminds me a bit of Walters. I would welcome either or both into our team. I know Walters only recently extended his contract but if he continues to be limited to cameos I think he will look for a move with the Euros in mind.
  9. Shocked we didn't concede again there. Woeful effort from Perez
  10. You'd have to question Gardes intelligence simply for taking the job in the first place! I still think it's possible for us to stay up which makes me question mine 😁
  11. He's in the 21s squad tonight so we'll finally get a look at him on the pitch. He was very impressive for the u21 Euros this summer, if he can replicate that from he will feature for the us once fully fit.
  12. Kozak will get another chance to impress with the 21s today.
  13. Thing is, I thought the exact same thing against Watford (except swap Hutton and Bacuna). Those 3 (4) have good moments..but BOY do they make a lot of non-premiership mistakes - things like running the ball out multiple times, stray passes, stupid fouls, needless losses of possession. The saving grace for Vertout for me is that his mistakes are generally 'going forward' i.e. trying a through ball that fails...I can cope with that but the other lot. They put us under a lot of totally needless pressure. Your right and at least Veretout is young. It's hard to believe Sanchez has played over 60 times for Colombia. He also got MOTM in the Copa for neutralising Messi[emoji2]
  14. We were good second half and I think we actually deserved to win it. It's just my opinion but that how I saw it. Southampton were poor. I thought the Goose, Hutton, Okore and Lescott were good today. I wouldn't fault the effort of our players. Saying that, there were times I could have shot Veretout, Sanchez and Bacuna for school boy mistakes. Gestedes lay off for Ayew was a rare thing of beauty. Gaye and Ayew are improving and have ability. Good to see Gabby back. This point will help build confidence. As I said last week we still have time to turn this season around. Today was a tiny step in the right direction. UTV
  15. I'm pretty sure Ilori and Gardner still injured? Garnder played 90mins in a friendly last week but didn't feature for the U21s so probably not fit. Ilori is still missing
  16. Some positives to latch on to. At this stage our fans need the help of a sports psychologist never mind this group of players! We go again
  17. Lets see what happens in January, money does talk but whats the point if your wages are going to drop once we are relegated as their will definitely be a relegation wage drop clause If we don't turn things around before January we'll be a lost cause.
  18. Any player at Brighton would jump at the chance to join Villa. There no point in being naive about it, money talks and the likes of Bennett earns more than the highest paid player at Brighton.
  19. The manager arranged a friendly game today against Fleetwood to assess squad members. Report from AVFC.CO.UK Adama Traore, Libor Kozak and Charles N'Zogbia all played 90 minutes as Villa ran out comfortable winners over Fleetwood Town in a behind-closed-doors match at Bodymoor Heath. Defender Jores Okore also stepped up his return from a long-term knee injury while Philippe Senderos also featured for the full match. U21 skipper Jordan Lyden put the hosts in control with two well-taken strikes from the edge of the penalty area. Kieran Dunbar reduced the deficit before the break. Adama Traore restored Villa's two-goal advantage before a penalty from Fleetwood's Vamara Sanogo made it 3-2. In the end, the claret and blues' quality and experience shone through as goals from N'Zogbia and the impressive Traore secured a comprehensive win. There was also a useful workout for midfielder Gary Gardner. Villa: Bunn, Webb, Okore, Senderos, Kinsella, Traore, Lyden, Gardner, Hayes, N'Zogbia, Kozak.
  20. Scored twice and generally impressed in front of Garde today in a training friendly against Fleetwood. We won 5-2, Okore, Senderos, Garnder and Kozak also started.
