  1. So if £8m is enough to trigger his release, why exactly are they then going to want to potentially give us more money? Perhaps it was a clause saying that's the minimum we would get for him, so could still negotiate add-ons possibly?
  2. After Sherwood seduced Gueye, it's becoming clear why so many are willing to join us
  3. Just been having a read of the Leicester forum linked in the Veretout thread, and **** me are some of their fans delusional Apparently their form at the end of last season made all of Europe sit up and take notice It's gonna be a long long season for those fans, I get a feeling that they may not be outside of the relegation zone much this season.
  4. Did Captain Jack just give a shout out to Scuba Steve?
  5. Sign of the times! Why bother watching someone play when FIFA can guess their ratings. Because not everyone has the means to watch every Ligue 1 game whereas a lot of people do have games such as FIFA and FM, so what's wrong with using that as a baseline judgement? And I can guarantee those types of comments only come out when talking about players who don't play in the Premier League, Championship or Champion's League, if we were trying to sign Joey Barton you wouldn't be seeing comments saying "well, he is rated high 70's on FIFA, he could be good" because most people will have seen someone like Barton regularly so can gauge his ability more from what they've seen rather than having to make hesitant guesses about his ability on the limited knowledge pool they have.
  6. No-one would've given Arsenal a good game that day, the way they played they could've picked apart anyone. Maybe not a 10 man defence Chelsea.
  7. What? Is that real? If so Sherwood is REALLY working fast this window. The Jordan strategy is brilliant, sign the first one and then the media will be confused and leave subsequent Jordan sgnings quiet until confusedly announcing done deals. No, the picture's not real. Unless Veretout is a Villa fan as that is last seasons shirt. And if he bought a fake shirt as the badge is on the wrong side. Also I don't think it's even Veretout, just looks a tad like him.
  8. http://www.ouest-france.fr/fc-nantes-jordan-veretout-choisi-aston-villa-3588087 Woah woah woah, who's this Mendy fella we've supposedly signed from Nice? Nampalys mendy, plays for Nice and was gueye's midfield partner, journalists got a bit confused But those two weren't even at the same club.

  10. All I know about that guy is that he was quality for my Nantes team on FM before I had to sell him, sign him up
  11. We'd need any kind of defender if we're losing Baker and Clark too. That'd leave us with Okore and Richards, who everyone is sure will be playing RB. So just Okore at CB. Sherwood better get a move on if he's rebuilding our entire backline in one summer. Senderos, always forgotten (edit: just read the original post, nevermind. )
  12. Would definitely have him back, on the right wages, but the articles i've read seem to just be conjecture based on Young having a year left on his contract and we have loads of money from Benteke. Can't see it happening.
  13. The more I think about this deal, the more I warm to it. Adebayor to be fair is a very good striker, and a motivated Adebayor can be just as good as, if not better than, Benteke was for us. I just hope he'll be motivated and not on ludicrous wages.
  14. Been resigned to him leaving for ages now, but don't think I'll ever be able to stand seeing him in a plop shirt
  15. Why did gareth southgate leave us for middlesbrough ???? I cant remember the reason. Wasn't it something to do with Ellis not being very ambitious? I was only young at the time so it's second hand memories I suppose, but wasn't there a story about how Southgate had a photo of the 82 side on his locker but it was taken down by the club as Ellis wasn't owner at that time. That with limited spending at the time, which meant missing out on players like Lampard (allegedly, and that was after Southgate left i think?), supposedly made Southgate feel the the club couldn't achieve much more, and he was right
  16. Why would he go there!? At least with Delph you could argue that Fernando and Fernandinho have been iffy for City and with Lampard leaving it isn't inconceivable an England international would fancy his chances of first team football. But with this guy, does he seriously think that at 18 he stands a chance of competing for places with Nasri, Silva, Sterling and Navas? Or is just happy to be farmed out on loan for the next 3/4 years? At that age one of the worst moves you can make is going to a top 4 side, imo.
  17. For those without speakers, sick bag or rotten veg to throw let me give you the highlights. In it Delp claim he has supported Man City since he could walk having grown up watching Wanchope. He says he was born in Moss Side and had an Oasis haircut was 16. He then goes on to say that Mangala is the finest CB he has ever seen and that he rides a unicorn to training ever day. Was he at Wembley to watch the Gillingham game too?
  18. Great so can any Football Manager experts chime in on this lad? If we can get a player that is absolutely beast on two games then we have a winner I think... He's shit on FM, fast though.
  19. Well, it really takes something to make Stewart Downing look like a paragon of honesty and loyalty, but you've gone and **** done it Fabian, you word removed.
  20. Think they're in the same boat as us, lucky that there'll probably be 3 worse off teams. I reckon Sunderland, Leicester and Bournemouth will go down, with Watford and Norwich surviving by the skin of their teeth.
  21. This will probably come across a little bitter, but honestly, Milner to City. Now I don't mean that he should have stayed at Villa forever, as much I would've liked him to, just that I think it was the wrong move at the wrong time. He should've stayed an extra year, and that following summer Utd needed a new CM to replace Scholes, who they eventually needed to convince out of retirement. Milner may not be the same type of player as Scholes, but I honestly think that Ferguson would have bought him and played him through the middle, and I reckon his career would've flourished. Hell, even if Milner had been played CM at City, I think he'd be the current England captain, perhaps regarded as the best CM in the country. Instead he jumped at the first chance to leave and was shoved out on to the wing as the "safe and defensive" option, where his career, ability-wise, stagnated. He had so much potential, and it kind of saddens me to see someone who could have been an England legend have fans moaning when he's picked to play for England. His career has been successful monetary and trophy wise, but if he'd waited for someone who'd play him in position, it could've been so much more in terms of ability and stature.
  22. Ranieri has been announced as Pearson's replacement. Not paid too much attention to his recent career, last I knew he was being OK at Monaco.
  23. He gone to Swansea already That's Jordan Ayew. That's who we're linked with, his brother Andre went to Swansea.
