  1. Luuk de Jong looks the one for me on that youtube evidence.Great feet, good awareness, good touch.......he'd be the one i'd go for on that.
  2. When we lost Yorkie, i was gutted, and then we bought Merse, one of the best players i have seen in a Villa shirt. I think Benteke has been incredibly badly advised here, Sky Andrews suggested as much earlier o TS.What does Benteke do if no one comes in for him, or do not match our valuation? He has 3 years to go, is 22, could be a one season wonder, who would bid £30m for him, our asking price? If however he stayed another season, and he was successful, then sell him next summer for £30m+.lla hold all the card here imho, if no one comes in, make him sign an extended contract, or call his bluff and put him on the subs bench, in one of his most important seasons in his career, let him sweat and come grovelling back. Not sure how i feel now, whether i want him to stay or not, but i would'nt want some jumped up 22 year old tell me what to do.Get the money, or make him grovel for forgiveness.
  3. I think we are getting ourselves too worked up here. Lets take the worst scenario , and Benteke wants to leave, what can Villa do.Hold him to his 3 year contract, explain to him that unless he toes the line he will be out the 1st team, if he is out the 1st team he might fall down the pecking order for the national team, if he is out the national team he won't play in the WC. We then explain to him, that we accept he may use Villa as a stepping stone, and in that case, if he gives us one more good season, then he can go with our best wishes, to a club a lot bigger than Spuds. In the mean time, hopefully, Weimann, Okore, abd Sylla plus 2 or 3 more, will step up to the next level, and it means we will be in a lot stronger position. If i was advising Benteke, or if he was say a Baggies player, then i would say have one more season at your current club, and see how you go, the big teams would'nt buy a player who might be a 1 season wonder.
  4. A playmaker, an old fashioned No 10.Someone who an pick a pass out, and utilise Gabbys pace, Weimanns movement and Bentekes all round ability. Would add 15/20 goals per season imho.
  5. Weii il like Bennett, good at going foward, great crosser, and plays well against good players.Played well against Lennon, Walcott, Mata and Valencia, shit against Bradford and Norwich, seems to indicate a lack of concentration more than ability. Not sure he his any worse defensively than Lowton tbh, who i saw get roasted on a few occasions last year.
  6. Belhanda/McCarthy, whatever, i think we will buy a young up and coming player for around £10-15m.Its the kind of player we should be signing, and i think PL has earned the right to purchase such a player. Regarding wages, RL has always stated that he is willing to pay big wages to the right players.Did'nt he offer £100k per week to Our Ashley to try and stop him going to Ure.He will do it if PL says its the right player.
  7. i'll finish. are maintained, bigger and better wll be interested, and 3rdly, what is he 22?, Yorkie moved at 26, how many of the very top teams have a 22 year old CF? Bo , if i was his advisor, i would stick at Villa for probably 2 years and see how he develops, then Barca et al should be calling.
  8. I would be very surprised if Benteke goes this summer.First of all its WC year, and any change may affect his performances, and with Lukaku breathing down his neck that would not be a good idea, 2ndly as PL said, the teams interested n him this year will be interested next year, and if his improvements
  9. This anti-Bannan ranting is getting a bit on my nerves.A young lad, who has come through the ranks, has cost us nothing, and is probably not quite up to the level that PL wants, played ok this season, nice pass, not physical or quick enough at this level. Not the best of the bunch, and not the worst. Good luck to him, maybe offer him to Bpool in exchange for Ince.
  10. One of our better players today imho. Outjumped by a bigger CH for their goal, but made a couple of important interceptions in the 2nd half.Pedestrian game, no eal urgency, thought we lacked quality in the opposition half.
  11. God, Ian Taylor and Yorkie. Imagine Yorkie, Benteke and Weimann up front.
  12. **** me, watching that Stewart Lee is hard work. He's funny?......jeez.
  13. Well, i like him. Not sure , apart from Lee Mack, who is any good tbh.
  14. Forming a nice partnership with Benteke, created one yday, could have created 1 or 2 more as well.Should have scored himself as well. Developing into a very good player.
  15. Hes too slow at this level, no accelerartion, gets drawn out of position, does'nt anticipate danger, not the best footballer. Not a top Prem player, lower Prem/Championship player at best. The trouble is, who do you replace him with?Herd, too small, and erm?, thats it. The incompetence of the management is imcomprehensible.
  16. He'd walk into Spuds, Arse, Chelsk, even Citeeeehs teams imho, and only RVP would keep him out at Ure. A real shame we can't have him for 3/4 years. The ineptitude of the owner and manager has put paid to that.
  17. Andy Lockhead and Sammy Morgan were the toughest players i saw play for Villa. "Chopper" Harris said Andy Lockhead was the hardest player he played against. Mick Harford was one that Vinnie Jones would'nt mess with.Apparently when he joined Wimbledon, the usual japes of Jones and Fashanu for new comers were conveniently forgotten.
  18. He has all the attributes to be a top class LB/wing back. He's quick, has good feet, a good cross, energetic, and likes a tackle. He is only 21, its his 1st season in the Prem, and its no coincedence his 2 best games were against Walcott and Lennon when he had to concentrate. He needs to improve his concentration levels, and needs a bit of help on the field about when to tackle and when to stand off. He will be a better player for us than Lowton, who i think is average at best.
  19. An improvement on Bannan and Delph, but similar to both, a bit too small, and lacks presence.Has a good pass on him, and is a busy player.Needs to play alongside a bigger player..Silla?, and he would be fine. Still think if he is a 1st teamer next year, then we could be in trouble again as we lack presence in the centre of midfield.Get a "beast" in the middle of our midfield, and it would make a hell of a difference.
  20. Low cost base. Turnover £100m, wage bill this season, £50m? max. Allows £30/40m leeway, plus allowed losses of £100m over 3 years for an opportunity for a wealthy individual/organization to "have a go". Just my thoughts, and some expert on TS anyway.
  21. After the vote on Thurs, i am now convinced he is trying to sell up.It adds up, reducing costs, making it more attractive, keeping options open.
  22. Shit atttude, no fight, no desire, lacklustre........thats why he does'nt play
  23. Bannan the new scapegoat.Left with too much to do in the 1st half, PL got the tactics wrong, 2nd half kept the ball moving quickly, but is too weak sometimes, and gets brushed off the ball too easily. Not up to it, but at least he tries.A choice of Ireland or Bannan.
  24. If we stop up, then get rid of the dross, and build our team around him. As good a striker as i have seen down VP, as good as Yorkie, AGray, Sir Brian.Worth more than £25m in my books. If we go down, he deserves better.
