It's abuse, but racist abuse nah. There is no hurtful context that goes with the inverse. Tom Curry needs to get a **** grip, with this sort of attitude I'm not super surprised that half the England team refused to take a knee.

Not sure what you're on about here. You say it's just racist abuse, get a grip and then you complain the England team did not take the knee to support people subject to racist abuse. Would you say the same if the roles were reversed.

The cynic in me was not surprised nothing was done about it due to the player being the only available hooker in the RSA team and a ban would mean they'd have a WC final with uncontested scrums, which would pretty much ruin the spectacle.

The hearing was over very quickly and never required Curry to provide his account.

Totally agree with this. I do not see why it all had to be done and dusted before the final. Go through the correct process to find the correct outcome. This just seems like a "nothing to see here" moment, but we will never find out. Maybe Curry was racially abused, maybe it was a linguistical misunderstanding, either way it should not be swept under the carpet.

I hope the ABs win tonight, I would rather their style of play be the one teams replicate rather than SA. It's OK to have one or two teams play like SA, but if others follow thinking it will bring success, there will be 4 years of turgid rugby.

Best of luck to both teams though.

I'm very new to watching rugby, but I find the other team compelled to watch NZ do a dance before very game very, very silly. Why don't we get to force the other team to watch us morris dance before we play?

It's 2023 lads, and most of you are no more maori than I am, get over this

One specialist hooker in the squad, now he has gone off injured after 3 minutes. Ridiculous management which could cost SA the game.

Especially with a 7:1 forwards split on the bench.

I don’t think it even went to a hearing did it? I think they said there wasn’t enough evidence.
It should have been looked into more.

This is the type of attitude why people don’t report racist abuse. If Curry thought he heard something he absolutely should report it.

Hope NZ won this, Rassie Erasmus can’t win again 😂 (yes I know he’s not head coach, but in everything but the name he is).

It’s a bold move going the 7-1, it could be huge second half, but if the backs get injured, NZ could open up in the space.

Faf, would be such an irritant to play against always getting in peoples face and disrupting, and always tackles off the ball. But can’t deny he does his job well.

I think the point he's making is calling someone a white word removed, does not come with the history of oppression that calling someone a black word removed does. I suppose, it's a valid point, but I'm against anything that GB news is banging the drum about.😉😉

Absolute nonsense. This isnt racist abuse. The colour of my skin (and i would imagine yours) has never been used to belittle myself or my parents, or their parents, it does not carry equivalent meaning. It was abuse if he called him a word removed. Its not racist abuse, because of the lack of power in the 'white' bit of it. South Africans are majority black, but the wealth is not with them, it's with those that invaded and stole the land of the folks that were there before British or Dutch folk... They subjugated his (still living family) because they are black. So flipping the insult would be unarguably more offensive. If you consider it racist, you need to come up with something more serious for the opposite. White people should not be crying racism, it absolutely undermines what racism is and feels like.

It's abuse, and he brings race for it. We don't need a quota for how historically mistreated a demographic has been for it to be racist.

I find it bizarre that you seem to have more of a problem with Curry than the guy who's alleged to have abused him, when all he's done is mention is to the ref then get his head down and keep playing.

Racism is racism, all types of discrimination are about the abuse of power. If we want to qualify that one set of people are allowed to behave badly because their ancestors were treated badly, then we are enter into the subjective world of historical atrocities.

Equality is about all humans having the same rights and protections as each other. If his point was what you say, we are not looking at equality, but tit for tat retribution. I know this is not on the same scale as the Middle East conflict, but it is on the same spectrum, because each party can only see how they have been wronged and not the wrong they have undertaken.

So where was all the uproar when John Terry was appointed to this club? A man blatantly seen using racist rhetoric to Anton Ferdinand, and consequently found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute.

I don't see white people getting shot in America by the police because of pre - conceptions regarding their skin colour .

And here we go, talking about historical atrocities. The history of South Africa does not give the player the right to racially abused Curry, and yes calling someone a "white word removed" is textbook racial abuse, by picking out his skin colour and abusing him for that. If we want equality, every ethnicity needs to be held to the same standards.
