hi General,

Iam a wheelchair user and earlier today i enquired about buying a season ticket for myself and a carer and was told they are all sold, however i was told that i should try to buy individual tickets per match but was warned that for every ticket allocated to a wheelchair user there is 3 people waiting for that ticket on any given match day and sometimes people cancel their ticket so i should keep phoning the club to get a canceled ticket,so am i expected to phone every home game and hope that someone has canceled their match ticket for that game and the 3 people in the que before are going to turn it down if tickets for wheelchair users are that rare/difficult to get hold of ? Could you tell me how many season tickets are allocated to wheelchair users as the person i spoke too today at the club could not say and IF you have plans to increase that allocation as it seems wheelchair users are in high demand for tickets ? If what i was told today is the case.Sorry to have a moan but this means i wont get chance to see villa AGAIN this new coming season.

Best Regards

Phil

Hi General

Many thanks for what you and Mr Learner have done at Villa since last August and long may it continue (I've already had the pleasure of meeting you during one of our matches last season!).

As another wheelchair user I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments conveyed by Phil re the wheelchair users allocation at Villa Park. I have been attending matches at Villa Park since 1979 and for many seasons was a Disabled Season Ticket holder. However, I moved away from the area in the 1990's which meant I couldn't attend all of the matches. I have still managed to get to about 8 or 9 matches a season but in recent years it has become increasingly difficult to get individual match tickets due to the high demand for tickets in the wheelchair areas.

I have to say the Villa staff I have dealt with in recent seasons re match tickets (Linda Jones, Sheila Maybury and Lee Preece) have always been very helpful in trying to accommodate me but it has become difficult for them also because of the limited wheelchair spaces. Please pass on my thanks to them for their helpfulness.

General, can i suggest that the club reviews the situation regarding the number of places available to wheelchair users (and p.a's) with the aim of identifying other possible areas for wheelchair users within the ground (e.g. maybe the first row in the Lower North Stand which could be accessed via the tunnel?).

As a Consultant on Disability Issues I am more than happy to offer any assistance regarding this matter if required (free of course.......(because of my love of Villa!)).

Regards

Sid

Hi General. Happy 4th july, have ou own celebrations today with my sons 16th birthday

Been lurking for a while reading this thread, but as i had nothing to add i've stayed silent till now, but now I've made my appearence I'd first like to say I hope your enjoying the Villa ride, and the more pessistantly extreme elements of our support are not cuasing too much frustration.

My question is regading the Holte Hotel when it is opened, I guess as things stand its a free house. What are the plans regarding the manangment of the Hotle Hotel? is it going to be managed inhouse, handed over to a management team with the ability to run all aspects as they seem fit, are the club looking to do a tie in with a brewery in some way (I think traditionally it has links with M&B, but Ansells would provide a similar local link, even though its no longer brewed in Aston) or will full control of what beers they sell be maintained, enabling them to exploit the ability to have guest beers etc.

Hi General,

I notice on the (awesome) artwork you've done for the new kit launch that you have used "we start today" as a strap-line/ positioning statement.

I was wandering if you could shed any light on the meaning behind this message. Is is specifically related to the kit launch or is it more of a universal statement of intent from the club as a whole?

Is there a particular "day" in mind when "we" start from and if so does this mean that our kit launch will be a pretty special one?!

Thanks.

general krulak here:

1. New Kit: Press Launch and Launch to public on the 17th-19th of July. 9 Aug home kit on sale. 7 Sept away kit on sale. I have already explained why the timing is as it is...basically, our contract with Nike was signed "late in the game" and we had to fit in the queue with other teams around the world who have kits made by Nike. We knew this going in but determined that the quality of the kit and the Nike name was worth being a tad late during the first year. The Squad will play in the new Kit on the tour and the Inter game. For those going on tour, there will be a special "tour" shirt on sale soon...it will NOT be a replica of the new kit but something to wear other than our current shirt.

2. We will be supporting the Ladies Team...much work is being done in that area.

3. Questions re. Corporate Days, Corporate Boxes, etc. are best answered by Allison Plant...another one of our superstars. She heads the Department that handles such events and would be happy to talk to you.

4. Wheelchair ticket availability is best answered by Nicky Keye in our Ticketing Department. Many of you have already experienced her professionalism and care for the fan....give her a call and see what she has to say about the issue.

5. We will continue to look at ways to expand the wheelchair space in the stadium. As many know, I try to drop by and say hello to our disabled fans during the games...and I agree, we need to expand the locations.

6. The Holte Hotel will be run by Allison Plant and her team. I am sure they will get "help" but we will try to do it "in house" first.

Hi General, was wondering if the press release is going to be like the Blues and our previous kit releases which I describe as amateurish, or will it be more classy e.g. similar to the teaser we have already seen? Also are we going to see the posters on bill boards around Brum? Have seen a few for season tickets already. Also what other ways are the club trying to advertised the club to the city and local areas?

Gen.

You mentioned about the running of the Holte Hotel - can I ask a question.

God knows if this is feasable but if it is, maybe it's worth thinking about.

On a plane the other week I was reading the in-flight magazine about Birmingham (BMIBaby - can only afford budget airlines). They had a feature 10 things that started in Brum, it included Dunlop, Ansells, Birds, HP, M&B and others. The sad fact was all companies apart from Cadburys have all shut down , and as it stated "once Ansells shut there was no longer a local brewery to Birmingham.

My question is, the Holte is clearly a gesture from Randy to bring something back to the local community / fans - I think you've said it yourselfsomewhere that although you'd like to to be profitable - that is not the intention.

Therefore, if possible, can we support local companies in the supply - food / beer (if there is one now) etc..., what a great story it would be if we could help to regenerate the area at the same time as winning the league !!! (also save the planet on transport !!!)

General, will there still be free shirt printing for season ticket holders? Also when will all the nike gear go on sale, the training tops etc. P.S managed to drive past the holte hotel today, and it looks amazing. Cant wait to see it on the first game of the season.

Aston Manor with a certain HDE Ellis as a non-exec and Peter Ellis as Chairman... so the Holte could always link up with them :)

You are right you know !!, Aston Manor is still going (although it is specialised stuff)

I hate to say this , and I hate even more to give the geriatric any more money - but I'd rather see us support an Aston based brewery than one from Copenhagen !!

As the General mentioned that it may have to be subsidised i dare say cost will play a big part. Your good old ansells is still going but owned by carlsberg. I think villa use COORS at the moment who are M & B. this beer talk is lovely, but can we get back to questions/comments for GK, please. ta. blandy

Hi General,

New member here and I'm here purely because I heard of the fact that you were taking the time and effort to log on and communicate with the fans in a way I never ever thought I'd see. So first off thanks for everything you've all done and are going to do. Oh and thanks for allowing me to afford a season ticket again in the lower North Stand.

Anyway - my question. I've read various reports about our season tickets sales being up by a massive % year on year and about us being ahead of target. Any chance your able to tell us how many so far and how many you think we'll have come the start of the season?

Thanks again

Hi General,

If you ever need Scouts in Australia i'd be more than happy to watch the locals and send reports back to VP, the standard of football over here has picked up over the last 10 years as you probably know from the Aussies playing in the Premier league, so if needed, just give me a shout!

Also, Happy 4th of July, Same day as i was born back in 1971! 36 today!

Up the Villa!

Hi General,

Firstly i find it amazing that our board is so accessible to the fans. Cant think of any other teams board that logs onto a fansite daily to field questions.

Ok, now for the question. I had to move out of the Uk with work last year, so can no longer be a season ticket holder. Still hoping to get over for 8 games or so. Are there any plans afoot to offer a pay per view season ticket to non uk residents to follow all Villa games either via satellite or via streaming? Im sure the uptake would be massive, now the tv deal is loosened a bit is this something you have/are/will be looking at?

Cheers, keep up the good work!

General Krulak here:

1. We will be looking at using local products in the Holte Holtel.

2. Sale dates on new kits...I posted that answer a day ago.

3. The issue of Villa on TV...a potential Villa site...etc. is being looked at. No promises.
