JulieB
OGS was allowed to talk to Villa by the club That's exactly what I was saying. Molde put up a statement confirming they knew he was in talks with Villa early this morning. If the investors didn't agree then if reports are true that Molde knew of Lerner's interests 2.5 days ago, then that's ample time to act if investors/owners had to be informed. It might be postering also.... so that Molde can turn round to their supporters and say they did everything they could to keep him bla bla bla................, when in fact the site of Randy's cheque book made their eyes roll. tomaspg
someone on twitter brought up a valid point. Ole works for Molde not aker, Molde gave him permission to go and talk to villa and so he went. Ole has no obligations whatsoever to answer akers/rokkes questions or demands, it might have been in his interest to do so in hindsight, but he answers to molde only. tonyh29
wasn't there a rumour that Lerner wouldn't steal contracted managers from other clubs etc etc mind you wasn't there also a rumour that he was anti gambling and wouldn't have a casino sponsor us :-)
Vexaz
For a norwegian villa fan, this has been a pretty unproductive work day with yet another twist this evening. The falling out of the owner røkke is a HUGE deal for Molde FK. Its abit like if the arabs were to pull out of man city, which will pretty much end Molde`s challenge in the norwegian league. I fail to see that the owner would react like this if there were no evidence of something more then a casual chat. This is ofcourse supported by private jet, and RL flight back to the US. Its going to pretty interesting to see what OGS can bring to Villa if everything works out. His Molde side is built up alot like Man Utd, with full backs bombing forward, quick wingers, one creative midfielder and a usually two holding midfielders. They keep the ball quite well, and is probably the best counterattacking side in Norway. I see OGS as an excellent man manager, whos built a winning mentality in the molde squad (pretty much the opposite of eck). He has an excellent backroom staff in Molde consisting of a few ex utd coaches if im not mistaken. If he is to succeed he will need a strong backroom staff in Villa aswell. Interesting times.. ! Naturally norwegian media are going mental.

jebsen
dont think they are testing the waters... talked to my old man a couple of minutes ago, he desctibed rokke as the norweigan mafioso boss hehe.. apparently a temper not to be **** with Good enough reason for OGS to leave the club then...and tell your old man if he thinks Rokke is a mafia boss in Norway does that make Joey Barton The Godfather of the premier league? magnkarl
Rokke is not going to stay, he's known for being a half bottomed angry capitalist. He's done what OGS's done now many times himself and if someone were to offer him money for his wife he'd sell instantly. He's just throwing his toys out of his yacht MON style, and OGS doesn't have to go to his level or even talk to the guy. He's owner of a company, and OGS does not answer to this company. AndyGray1985 Posted May 18, 2012 Visiting Supporter Share Posted May 18, 2012 Aker ASA has stated officially that they're withdrawing their financial support of MOlde FK as of the end of this season. That's not speculation - it's a lenghty and well worded communique from a listed company, it's principal and chairman.

If you read the actual statement the word permission is no where to be seen. It simply says it understands he is in talks... they may not of given him permission to speak. This is THE top story on the nine o'clock news on national TV in Norway. I never thought I would see Villa mentioned as the top story for having a meeting with a Norwegian manager. I think we will know much more when OGS speaks, which he has to do at least on Sunday when Molde plays.

Denis_B
Jan Aage Fjortoft@JanAageFjortoft The fight between Rökke and Solskjær here in Norway is like David Beckham and Sir Alex Ferguson s fight some years ago.Just missing the shoe :winkold: it's gonna end in tears
AndyGray1985 Posted May 18, 2012 Visiting Supporter Share Posted May 18, 2012 OGS isn't from Molde - his first club was Clausenengen and his stay at Molde as a player was fairly short.
villanesque
What you have to worry though OGS is Molde through and through maybe he will stay! Not too through and through. When Man U came knocking he answered the door and skipped all the way to OT. When Villa knocked he hopped on a plane. The through and through seems to only be for fans.
