  1. Since it is way past midnite it's time for some conspiracy theories: OGS will be the new Villa manager, but not until the season starts. He coaching staff will leave Molde and start pre-season without him. He'll take over when Molde has found a suitable replacement. OGS clearly said he wanted the job and would leave with his english staff and possibly one of the players with him. Presumable the staff want to leave too. He doesn't live in Molde by the way, but in Kristiansund, a dreary place. Røkke knows he made an ass of himself and needs to save face, but can't let OGS leave right now, but is willing to compromise.
  2. I don't know the sources for this, but if it's the the paper VG, it's not what he says. According to VG, he was confronted with Brian Doogans statement that he had withdrawn, and said that the club could not confirm anything like that, and reacted worringly that he was no longer a candidate. Ha says that he'll clearify tomorrow, ehhh today actually.
  3. I still think there is something fishy here. Even possibly a red herring.. What's there to decline if there wasn't an offer? Why the rather crytic answer to the press? He usually is a very straightforward guy, but he really had no reason to not say what they decided to do. And furthermore, a post on the Norwegian villaforum suggests that there is more to this story than what has emerged so far, whitout being very specific, but claims to have a good source.
  4. Strange, I interpret this meeting totally diffent than you brits. With an almost smug smile on his face he says to the press" you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand what this meeting is about" Then consider the fact that OGS has said to Røkke that he wants to manage Villa, then it seem rather unlikely that he would bring the wife and be overly cheerful if its to say no to Villa. or am I just a helpless optimist?
  5. The VG article reads that he and his family is on the way to Olaso for a "chat" with Røkke. Sounds like compensation talk.
  6. Don't agree. After all the flak he got from the club, and with 2 games coming up in 6 days, I'd say he wants to keep it very quite, especially, if it's a done deal. As I said earlier he'd seems like the guy who wants to help out the club. One could speculate that that's the reason it's so quite, he wants to hold the announcement until early next week.
  7. Yes, I bet their frothing at the mouth at the thought of us sending over all our shyte players and for us to cream off their best players! Who could turn down a set-up like that? Im thinking more along the lines of the young players - and not Collins. Its a bit late now, but Albrighton for example could have benefitted from playing out there for a bit. Just adds a bit more to their game and learning from different experiences and surroundings. Not just that, Norway leads the world in the field of rhinoplasty. Imagine how well Albrighton could cross if he could view the angle into the box with both eyes. I may of had to google the word 'rhinoplasty' to get that joke. I guess you learn something new everyday... Don't tell me you don't know what rhinoplasty is.? Funnily enough, I have had rhinoplasty surgery myself - but not because I had a massive Ogrizovic nose. Let's just say it was more of a reshaping after an unfortunate accident. I am just glad it didn't turn out like Big Mick's! My wife said she's happy she's not this guys wife, for 2 reasons. 1st, he'd be a thunderous snorer, and 2nd, something about him not hitting the spot.. (don't know what she means with that...)
  8. My 50 øres worth; This thing has blown completely out of proportion here in Norway. One thing is that OGS could be the second Norwegian manager in the PL, another is the reaction from the "investors" at Molde FK. Being a small country, we just love to think most people know who Marit Bjørgen and Petter Nordtug are (do I detect frantic googling ?), at least those who are interested in sports. And when our national football icon OGS might, just might, become the new Villa manager, the press go bonkers and dig up anything that has a slight connection to it. Now, if it is true that it's more or less a done deal: OGS seems to be a very decent guy, and it seems to me like he wants to do the honorable thing and stay with Molde until they are sorted out. They are after all in the middle of their season, and taking with him the entire coaching staff obviously leaves the club in serious troubles. He needs to be replaced, and at the moment there are few, if any norwegian managers of decent quality around. One could say that this is Moldes problem, but if I know how OGS thinks he at least wants to help find a replacement.
  9. That was probably for Norwegian TV2, they had a report on the news about what the Villa faithful wanted with some shots from Villa Park. Wouln't read to much into it. However, what is importnant is that OGS told Røkke that he would leave Molde, taking with him the coaching staff, if he got an offer from Villa. That is not quite the same OGs told the press earlier. He has clearly made himself available for RL, but also feels ha has to be fair to Molde and their owners, who feel gutted that he might be leaving.
  10. If OGS wasn't first choice someone somewhere should have heard some thing about other possibles, surely?
  11. Good enough reason for OGS to leave the club then...and tell your old man if he thinks Rokke is a mafia boss in Norway does that make Joey Barton The Godfather of the premier league?
  12. Norwegians have 3 letters you don't have in english; Æ, Ø, Å. (don't know if you get the correctly) His name is pronouced with the o-sound in order (sort of) followed by the l-sound in limit and the Æ is like the short A as in accident. its Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
  13. A dream match report: Ole Gunnar Solskjærs Villa stunned last years runners up Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon. Gabriel Agbonlahore scored with a super strike from outside the box after just 12 minutes before Darren Bent in his usual fashin lashed on to a wonderful cross from Marc Albrighton just before half time. Nani pulled one back just after the break, but Charles N'zogbia, who really has revitalized his career after the suprise appointment of Solskjær as the New Villa manager, made sure that Villa was the first team this season to take 3 points at Old Trafford with a easy tap in after a some clever midfield play involving the Chris Herd and the returned Jean Makoun. Villa are now only 3 points adrift of Man City at the top of the table while Manchester United are still 9 points adrift of the top.
