Well what have they in store for us today!

I know some may disagree with me on this but I have just heard a Lib Dem MP ranting about raising the 50p tax for the rich, he was talking in such a way they you could be mistaken for thinking he was talking about pedos. He showed such resentment that was during this debate considering some of those people created jobs and invested in the economy during their journey to success. I had never really thought about this until I heard they way he spoke in disgust about them and his comment "why let them make money! they will only go spend it in Tolouse!" made me wonder how he made it out of school let alone an MP. I dont even earn £30 grand a year but I still dont resent those who have earned it.

Absolutely.

It seems it is flavour of the day to punish the rich. I believe they should pay their share but to punish them for, in the most cases, doing well and creating jobs and commerce is crazy.

Paying 50p in the £ over 150k is frankly stupid. The reason this tax doesn't make any money is that anyone earning over 150k has the financial means to employ an accountant to avoid it.

You are only worth what someone is prepared to pay you for the work that you do. If they are prepared to pay £6m a year with a £6m bonus, great. Good for you. I'm jealous its not me, but hey you obviously do what you do better than I could and well done sir.

By the time you've paid 40% Tax and NI you're paying pretty much 50% anyway.... not including VAT and all the other joyful little extra's they drop in.

Some bankers caused the financial crash.... some MPs of a particular crimson persuasion who could have influenced the seriousness of it didn't....... you can't lump all the bankers and all the MPs in together.

As for the main outcome of the Budget today... I'm bent over George.... do you want me greased up or dry?

Cue the raving lefties.

im expecting to be smashed on my company car

What do you drive?

an A3 so nothing big, but im sure its been frozen for the last 2 years

You shouldn't be too bad. They won't want to do much to discourage business activities and as your car is "reasonable" you should be ok I would have thought.

But I suppose nowadays it is better to expect the worst!

Fuel increases really piss me off, I dont even do much driving but to me if fuel was lowered people would go out more and spend more but they cant do it if they cant afford to get there in the first place. Pretty much everything is price sensitive to fuel. But it seems people/mp's living in London dont seem to see this as either they have fuel allowances, claim back transport or most dont have cars and just use the tube.

It currenltly costs me very close to £250 a month in fuel just to travel to work and back.

Mine is getting near £400! I seem to be going to work to pay the costs of getting there. I love my job but I have been looking for a new one closer to home because of the fuel costs involved.

if they taxt the rich anymore than more and more will leave the country then what?

you need the rich to help spend and stay here. you cant keep raping them. i think they should do a property tax. if you own more than 3 properties you pay tax on each

I am looking to move (within my current company) to a site closer to home. Should save me a good £200 a month.
