FAI Press statement

September 11, 2013

Football Association of Ireland

The recent results against Sweden and Austria were very disappointing for everyone involved in Irish football, the manager, the players and supporters. Our aim of qualification, although mathematically possible, is now highly unlikely even though the team will always do everything within their power to keep that hope alive. The FAI Board of Management will now consider the current position over the coming days.

The post-match press conference which was due to take place this afternoon in Dublin has been cancelled

I've had a think. Yes I want this man. When he's not destroying wage bills and when he's motivating lesser men he's very good. He's at a stage in his life & career where an international job probably suits him. Get him in and let's see what he can do with this lot.

Trapattoni Linked To Managerial Position At Macari’s Blanchardstown

It appears that Macari’s Takeaway have offered Giovanni Trapattoni the managerial position at it’s Blanchardstown village location.

The chain of chippers decided to make the offer after Ireland’s defeat to Austria, ending the country’s World Cup prospects. Many are calling on Trapattoni’s removal and the FAI have already released a statement saying that they are to review his current position as manager of the Irish International team.

The fast food outlet claims that Trapattoni would be a perfect addition to the Macari set up, claiming that his broken English, old age and ability to piss off drunken Irish men, would really complement their current business model.

Although the move would bring huge attention to the local chipper and raise it’s media profile significantly, many residents of the area are concerned that the quality of service that the takeaway currently provides would suffer dramatically, as they are well aware that Trapattoni doesn’t deliver.

Macari’s are offering Trap a lucrative deal – minimum wage along with providing him, free of charge, any of their value meals during the days which he works and on top of that, have offered to throw in a free tub of garlic dip too.

An offer unlikely to be matched by anyone else any time soon.

We’ll have more details on the move as it breaks.
