fantram Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 The Reserves went back to the top of the table tonight with a 2-1 win over Swansea City at Bodymoor Heath. Daniel Johnson (MOTM) and Michael Drennan the goalscorers.
BOF Posted January 9, 2012 Author Moderator Posted January 9, 2012 Brom go top. Essien plays 75 minutes on his return [table color=#bccde9:dfd578e6c5][row][mcol]09/01[mcol]Chelsea[mcol]2-3[mcol]West Bromwich Albion[row][col][col] 36' Jacob Mellis 83' Milan Lalkovic [col][col] 40' Lateef Elford-Alliyu 77' Chris Wood 88' David Goldsmith [/table]
BOF Posted January 11, 2012 Author Moderator Posted January 11, 2012 Enda Stevens makes his debut for the reserves in a side with a healthy Irish contingent, joining Burke, Drennan, Williams & substitute Grealish. Gary Gardner comes back into the fold after a 3 game absence. Webb, Donacien & Burke come back in after resting against Swansea and Siegrist, Caira & Carruthers are not in the match day squad. Arsenal have lost 2 and drawn 1 of their 7 home games so far so they're not invincible. A win puts Villa top but a home win brings Arsenal back into contention.
BOF Posted January 11, 2012 Author Moderator Posted January 11, 2012 2 in 2 for Drennan. sgc will not be happy.

Enda Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 2 in 2 for Drennan. sgc will not be happy. Not half-bad for a kid who "literally can't run."
villa4europe Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 did henry play? it was great on twitter last night seeing the likes of williams excited because theyd got a rumour that he was
fantram Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Anyone see the game? Does Enda Stevens look like an immediate prospect for the first team?
BOF Posted January 12, 2012 Author Moderator Posted January 12, 2012 I followed Dan Harrison's commentary on the O/S and he said Stevens had a very accomplished debut. Stayed the pace well and didn't look at all out of his depth. Hopefully we'll see him on the first team bench soon enough. Henry didn't play but judging by Williams on twitter, he was around the place.
MonsXI Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Tonights game at Hinckley re-arranged for tomorrow at BMH. Incase anyone was going
VillaRoy Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Our reserves are currently beating Wolves 6-1. Wiemann with 2, Fonz 1, Bannan 2, Gardner 1. Still 10 minutes left.
Shillzz Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 In fairness, that's an exceptionally strong reserve line up. Most of that front 6 should be in the first team squad on the weekend.
OutByEaster? Posted January 17, 2012 Moderator Posted January 17, 2012 Yep. That line up is almost cheating, but if you look at them, none of them have really featured all that much for the first team with the possible exception of Bannan.
BOF Posted January 17, 2012 Author Moderator Posted January 17, 2012 That'll do. [table color=#bccde9:72cdad9e86][row][mcol]17/01[mcol]Aston Villa[mcol]7-1[mcol]Wolverhampton Wanderers[row][col][col] 3' Andreas Weimann 38' Nathan Delfouneso 42' Barry Bannan (p) 61' Barry Bannan 64' Andreas Weimann 83' Gary Gardner 85' Andreas Weimann[col][col] 1' Sam Winnall [/table]
VillaRoy Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Not a player over 22 mind. Swap the team and manager with first team for a week, see how that goes . Only Fonz and Bannan played more than 10 games for first team in that squad that won 7-1.
BOF Posted January 18, 2012 Author Moderator Posted January 18, 2012 Next 2 home games confirmed at Hinckley @ 19:00.
VillaAlex Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Just seen the hightlights, Weimann scored some crackers!
VamosMiAstonVilla Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Bannan bossed the show judging by the highlights.
