arkvillan Posted June 10, 2011 Share Posted June 10, 2011 i like martinez, but if he does come i will feel very underwhelmed and a bit let down. it does show a lack of ambition. we are a big club according to villa fans but this just proves others dont think so. all this talk of champions league and 5 year plans was bollox. and dont give me the one about how mancity moved the goalposts. we've been bullied by other clubs when our players were under contract. the board have been weak when the money was waved in front of them. randy is a billionaire businessman but refuses to try to hire anyone under contract at another club!!!!!! and people think its because he's such a stand up fellow. you dont make billions being mr nice guy. its because he doesnt want to pay compo. i have a fear that next season we'll be no better under martinez and come next summer this shite will just start again. i know how browns fans feel now, only we have that added fear of relegation. This has been the worst time ever on these boards hahaha you obviously weren't here after we lost to Doncaster and DOL had failed to get HDE to cough up money for crocks like Bakke. Oh and then we had the summer where the Comers were supposed to be buying Doug out.... and then there was the DOL/Sorenson and the lost dressing room era... NO ! there have been plenty of worse days than this. This is more like a walk in the park on a spring day compared to the Days of Deadly Doug. Come to think of it Doug never had these problems with Managers, he sacked most of them before they could blink an eye and usually had a replacement lined up ready to go within a few days... ellebonnie Posted June 10, 2011 Share Posted June 10, 2011 My point is, if RM & Whelan pitch up on SSN / Talkshite etc at 130pm saying he's not even prepared to talk to Villa, it wont reflect too well on our club can you not see that SSN and Talkshite - says it all. If Martinez does not join us it is because he did not get the job. Villa are a massive step up from Wigan. Its the same when he was at Swansea and they came calling. As nice as Dave Whelan makes himself out, he is obviously pissed off at the interview, in that RM requested to attend an interview and DW didnt like this. I doubt very much DM was first choice and we would have contacted him 9 days ago as the front runner. Its an interview process, with a good few applicants. When you go for a job, up against others, it does not mean you get the job after your interview. There is usually a date they " get back to you". Sky and the papers have been blocked out of AVFC matters for a few weeks and they do not like it, so the RM thing comes up and then they claw onto this, just like they did with steve.
