AVFC-Prideofbrum Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Amazing to think if we draw this, we will be 3 points of 2nd despite, let's be honest, a pretty poor start Such a shame Heskey is out, Carew is well, he's just lazy. He hasn't been that bad but what he does, anyone at any level could do. Stand there, control a ball into him with no challenge and pass it 5 yards. Even that he makes difficult. He hasn't been terrible, it's just, it's nothing. Just stands there, let's the game go past him. Where is the desire? for example, Young had the ball on the left, you have Ireland, Petrov, Coker, Warnock all players within 20 yards of Young for a pass if he needs and Carew decides to stand about 10 yards from Young. JUST GET IN THE BOX!!
PompeyVillan Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I really do struggle to see where any of the criticism of Petrov comes from. He's had a great game so far.
Phumfeinz Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Is it me or is Ireland too 'clever' for our team? He does all these wonderful flicks and through balls and no-one is ever on the end of them.
AVFC-Prideofbrum Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 The thing is with Carew as well, apart from the first ball into him, his control and touch is fine. This COULD be a good game but there's just no desire to go 'you know what, I'm going to dominate this CB's'...it's more 'hmmmm, what to do tonight?'
Chindie Posted October 16, 2010 VT Supporter Posted October 16, 2010 Bollocks, Kakuta off. He survives unscathed. Any Villa man to break his leg would have been a legend forever in my heart.
AValon Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Both teams are cancelling each other out in the final third. I want to see Ireland more involved second half, like Downing was and let JC feed off one or two tasty through balls. Anyway, here we go......UTV
leviramsey Posted October 16, 2010 VT Supporter Posted October 16, 2010 A gem from RAWK's "weekend football" thread: Villa playing well so far. Us and Villa have come into this season on similar tangents - both losing their managers over the summer, but Villa have it slightly worse than us, as MON left the week before the season opener. Hodgson has had all summer to work with the squad. We finished above Villa last season so it is a testament to Hodgson how badly we are playing. Villa will be an accurate guage to measure our progress this season and it is not looking good so far.
MrWeedMcGrass Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Lol, he was allowed to literally pick his spot there with all the space.
NurembergVillan Posted October 16, 2010 Moderator Posted October 16, 2010 Bollocks, Kakuta off. He survives unscathed. Any Villa man to break his leg would have been a legend forever in my heart. Why?
Chindie Posted October 16, 2010 VT Supporter Posted October 16, 2010 Chelsea with this much easy possession gives me heart palpitations.
The_Steve Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Shocking decision by the ref never ever a foul on Terry.
MrWeedMcGrass Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Midfield-back pass-hoof. Lose possession.
NurembergVillan Posted October 16, 2010 Moderator Posted October 16, 2010 Are Florent Malouda and Glen Johnson having a Whoopi Goldberg lookalike competition this season?
The_Steve Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Do these Chelsea fans have anymore inventive chants?
AValon Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Don't let 'em play, Villa. Keep the ball and let them get frustrated and we'll win this!
