blandy Posted December 23, 2005 Moderator Share Posted December 23, 2005 I'm doing the takeover dance. Anyone care to join me? Wahey! will you lead, or shall I? And Al's tune will do Oh the weather outside is frightful But the fire is so delightful And since we've been waiting so Let Him Go! Let Him Go! Let Him Go! It really showed signs of stopping But the Comers are still shopping The fans were feeling way down low Let Him Go! Let Him Go! Let Him Go! When he finally says goodbye How I'll love going out in my shirt But if you'll really hold me tight At last we'll be rid of that shite The ellis years, slowly dying And, my dear, we're still goodbying But as long as I'm a Villan Let Him Go! Let Him Go! Let Him Go! Tremendous news.

Trinity-Tom
Due diligence stage, ie accounts being looked over with a fine tooth comb. Wonder what they will find? Insurance policies on dodgy players? Dodgy medicals? :winkold: I get the impression that the due diligence has been completed and there is simply a little bit of wrangling over the final price to be had as a result of the findings of the due diligence. ahamaad
What i want to know is what Ellis will do with all that money? He is in his eighties, has had heart surgery. If he was my age, i would understand him blowing it on hookers, drugs and lavish holidays. But at his age, it will take at least 15 kg of Viagra. stumpy
Takeover talk now on BBC Sport: The businessmen aiming to take over Aston Villa for £64.4m are hopeful a deal can be completed with chairman Doug Ellis before the new year. Bid frontman Michael Neville said Irish property developers Brian and Luke Comer are going through the accounts. "There is a possibility it could be completed by the new year," Neville told the Birmingham Evening Mail. "They have met with the chairman and I am still very upbeat about completion of the transaction." The club refused to comment but Neville described the negotiations with Ellis had gone well. He said: "They have met with him and discussed a whole range of things. "Mr Ellis has been most charming and accommodating and things are progressing well. Everything is very cordial." Eliis has been chairman at Villa Park since 1982, the year they won the European Cup. And Neville, an ardent Villa fan, wants to bring glory back to the club. He said: "I think that Champions League football is a realistic possibility at Villa Park within three years. I would love to see them back in Europe."
