NibblyPig
Is this Steve Claridge co-commentating on Fox, spouting his anti-Villa drivel?
Qwpzxjor1
Hopefully Martin can re-organise things now. I agree that since Heskey went off we haven't really threatened.. one free kick which wasn't a free kick, and we should be a goal behind.
AVFC-Prideofbrum
Half-time. We need to change the way were playing in order to fit with Carew being on the pitch.
Rodders
HT 0-0. 45 minutes way from intense frustration. I know we'd have been pleased with 4 points from sunderland and stoke but even so... COME ON YOU VILLA BOYS
Stockport_Villain
We've got a hard second half to come. Wonder if O'Neill will make any tactical changes?

pete165
so what do the anti-heskey posters say now? still a useless lump not fit to wear the shirt, or has the penny dropped that he contriubutes to the TEAM? Going to be real tough this - a 1-0 win would be excellent.

villamann
we need to get back to how we were playing with heskey on- quick passes along the floor, movement, working it for a shot. we looked good doing that and created chances since carew has come on weve gone too much long ball and crosses- which stoke can defend easily, and players are hanging on to the ball too much. Dont blame Carew for everything , quick passes and movement involves the whole team , and Stoke are defending well.

Malachite
Ok, We need to step this up, Stoke have been very difficult and and have done well, but enough of the charity its time Villa got stuck in and put this game to bed. Gabby must get more involved, he needs a goal here, Ash needs to try a few tricks if not injured, Milner is ready and willing, I think the key here is Gabby he needs to do more, he's wondering about a bit. Ponky
Our passing is shit - just giving it away too much for them to counter. Carew has little to do with that IMO. MON just needs to get them refocused on working the ball around a bit better.
KSV
geez peeps.. bit harsh on big john. He will score but it will end 1-1. Stoke look good. Ref will even out the game with a dodgy pen. Downing on the right is poor at times.. not a fan.. switch them back MON. We were crap all half even before Heskey went off.. we had a good 5 min spell between 16 and 21 min.. but thats it really. However when Heskey plays, the midfielders always have an easy ball into Heskey who finds good positions, so therefore more options available and we have a link man between midfield and forwards. With Carew, there's nothing.
andym
our passing was excellent for 25 mins or so of that half, and it was creating chances for shots on goal. milner, ash downing and stan were all moving about, heskey kept dropping short and stoke couldnt deal with it. the last 15 mins of the half though we slipped back into aimless long ball, and we went very sloppy in possesion, too many players got caught on the ball. need to get back to the nice passing we were playing.
