CVByrne
The thing with The Hunger Games is the author was criticised for ripping off Battle Royal. So the film itself is just an adaptation of the book. It's the book that ripped of Battle Royal. Well obviously But the book goes on for 2 more volumes after the one that's been made into the first film. My point is Battle Royale is about kids shoved on an island to kill each other, right? And there's very little else to it (again I'm not stating that as a negative. It's just that that's all the film is about, there's very little back story) The actual Hunger Games, as in the event that gives the Trilogy it's name, is the bit that rips off Battle Royale. That part takes up about a third (from memory) of the first book. So there's 2 whole books and most of the first one that's got very little, if anything, to do with Battle Royale. So hunger Games took the premise of Battle Royal. Kids fighting to the death until 1 remains. While it being shown on tv for entertainment. Then expanded on that premise. I think the films are so different to not consider much more than a premise link. So I agree with you.

mikeyp102
The Disney robin hood is possibly one of the best, old Disney films out there. As for best archer, surely Charlie Sheen in Hot Shots Deux must be up there he used chickens!!

I wish I could double like Mike I used to feel the Disney Robin Hood was under appreciated but maybe not! And whilst Sheen most get respect for using unique weaponry, Disney Robin Hood would fire arrows whilst being on the same side as chickens, so I feel that gives him the win

8pints
Double? Fair do's RH can have the victory Yeah, 'like' your previous post twice, one for the praise of DRH and one for the suggestion of Sheen but can only 'like' a post once It's only fair The song about Prince John is even more uplifting. You've just made me realise I posted the same song twice (Something I didn't want but could do twice in contrast to the 'likes' ) so I'll put the Prince John one there in place. Plus, here's all the songs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6OzeBAbJi4

mikeyp102
Keeping with the theme of copycats and the Disney Robin Hood, check out Maid Marianne's guard... Then think of nursey from Blackadder II. Ben Elton a Disney fan?
Houlston
Dont think I've seen T3, tbf I prefer an average film with a great ending than a film you think is great only to have a lame ending.

You're right, I said the Baloo/John one earlier (Both voiced by the same man Phil Harris too) The characters in Talespin were descendants of the Jungle Book Characters though weren't they? So that's like saying someone's ripping off their Granddad for having some similar traits
mikeyp102
Agreed Ginko, but all are Disney, so probably a lot of crossover between artists and cells..

I believe he voiced Thomas O'Malley in the Aristocats too. The Talespin characters were descendants from those from the Jungle Book? I had no idea. What a crazy premise for a show considering they went from ordinary jungle animals to ones that can fly planes. I can't work out if they're supposed to be descendants or the same characters (Baloo, Shere Khan, King Louie etc) if they're the same characters that's even crazier though if it's a Porridge/Going Straight type thing.
