Which, again, doesn't mean they're any good. Which was Tony's point.

I didn't reply to tony. It was a more of a tongue in cheek response to posts made on here over the past few years about how people will get bored, etc. Zatmans information proves that wrong, again.

As for being good, it's all subjective. There's nothing to say any movie is good.

What is a good film though?

Everybody has different opinions and nobody is actually wrong except if its a Seth Rogen/Kevin James film which is automatically shit

12 Angry Men begs to differ.

I'd say the only factor on whether a film is good or not is your own opinion. Anything else is completely irrelevant. Same goes for music, books, etc. anything subjective really.

Yep, Friday night after a shit week at work = avengers > schindlers list

Films are so subjective to what mood you are in at the time

As daft as it sounds you have to have films like the avengers, or even more to the point fast and the furious, people scoff at them but they do their job for the industry, if you don't have superhero films dragging £3bn I. To the coffers every year then some of the great smaller films don't get made

yep, think I read Stellan Skarsgard who said he likes to make films like Thor to pay the bills so he can go make other smaller films that he likes to make. few other actors feel that way as well

I'm pleased to say I'm finally righting some wrongs in my film watching career thanks to Film4 last night.

Finally saw Dead Mans Shoes, cracking little film to be fair, glad I have finally ticked that one off.

Also on straight afterwards (at 1am!) was Brazil which I also have never seen, recorded that and will be watching at some point over the coming days.

$191million on opening weekend means you will be watching comic book movies for a while ;)

but...but...people are getting bored of them!

Watched the Raid 2 tonight. The first one was okay, but a bit stupid. This one was just plain bad.

What kind of madness is this?

The Raid 2 was on my top 10 films of last year, i came out of the cinema exhausted after this relentless thrill ride.

This is how you do an action movie, so visceral in the fights and the car chases, it raised the bar for me.

It's an incredible film and easily in my top five action movies.

Some of the fight scenes are utterly mesmerising & the choreography is completely off the scale.

Whilst I very much enjoyed The Raid, I did think it was overhyped.

Haven't seen the second one but it's on the list.

FWIW I didn't actually care for the first one that much. The second one is incredible!

It came across as martial arts porn and that's it. The first one felt like it actually had substance to it beyond that.

prefer Dredd myself ;)

Yeah, I'd mark the first Raid a little higher if it wasn't a straight rip of Dredd, scene for scene.
