Spoony Posted December 20, 2022 Share Posted December 20, 2022 I resisted watching Rogue Heroes as although I initially loved Peaky Blinders I got so tired of slow motion walking to Nick Cave soundtracks and “impressive” shots and men saying “peaky **** blinders” and women saying something sassy with a cigarette. Plays out like a Shakespearean tragicomedy with loads of twists and turns. Amazing mix of genius, laughable stupidity, wisdom, youth, vanity, humility, trust and Machiavellian plotting. Re SAS Rogue Heroes... Ben Macintyre’s Rogue Heroes book is so good, was obsessed with it when it came out, and then really disappointed that the BBC went down the Peaky Blinders route. I felt like the series just dumbed down a story that would have been great if they’d played it straight, added a load of F bombs and rock music, and was a massive disappointment.
