Some suggestion that there is a huge grain silo there at the port.  Apparently if they go up, they go up big.

Also suggestion of a fireworks warehouse as well.

Now being suggested that this could be an Israeli strike on a Hezbollah weapons factory.

I've split this out into a separate topic as it could turn out to be a major international incident.

Surely not? They are usually a bit more cloak and dagger with assassinations on specific targets (and family members) by car bomb or drone strikes.

Or Stuxnet type things. This would be a war crime/act of terrorism on a massive scale even for them.

Yeah, instead of fireworks it could be a munitions factory.

That's an obscenely big explosion.

The death toll of that will be enormous, unless that's a unpopulated area. Seems to be a slow explosion as well which in many ways is worse - slow explosions tear things apart...

Apparently windows blown out of apartments 10km away.

The blast was heard in Cyprus supposedly.

The aftermath is post apocalyptic. Absolutely horrific.

It was down by the port where the grain silos are located. They can cause an enormous explosion due to the build up of gas. Not clear what would have set it off though.

Its a combustible dust, a small spark can set off a grain silo

Definitely looks like the firework factory as you can see the colours and small explosions in the smoke, if that's then hit the silo it will go up

We had precautions about it because of the tiny fine flour particles in the cookie factory at Hartlebury, a lighter in there would have caused that to go up
