  1. Sorry, but I bloody love Forrest Gump. There, I said it. Saw Logan last night, it's not only the best X-Men film by miles, I think it may be up there with the best superhero movie of all time, though admittedly it's not really a superhero movie, more a really good movie with superheroes in it. Agree with... The similarities between this film and The Last of Us were quite apparent for me, and it was a much better movie because of them. Jackman even looks like Joel. A great movie and the Wolverine film that needed to be made whilst Jackman is still able. Can't wait to see it again.
  2. Over the Garden Wall is superb, but you're right in that it's nothing like Rick and Morty. Adventure Time is awesome too. Can't wait for when season three of Rick and Morty is finally given a release date (for real this time, Rick-rolling arseholes).
  3. I can see how it looks that way, though really she's not said anything since we agreed to be friends so she's not leading me on and I'm not hanging about either. A girl once told me I had perfect eyebrows; true story. Thanks for the advice though
  4. Cheers for the replies chaps. I'm not ruling out seeing this other girl again just yet, but if I don't see her again then it's not because of the girl from work, though things lately have been a lot of fun and back to how we normally are. She hasn't mentioned anything new about us trying dating so perhaps she's just happy being friends but she still says things that make me think otherwise. Anyway, regardless of that, just because I didn't really feel it with the girl last night doesn't mean I'm not going to go looking elsewhere. This whole experience has made me a little more confident in meeting new girls. TBC.
  5. Nah, I'm a gent, me. I checked it when she went to the bathroom but I already knew what was going to happen. She did me a favour by distracting me if anything. She was nice but no real spark. I'll see her again but I think I know this is going nowhere.
  6. She doesn't know, I don't think there's any point in telling her about a first date which may not go anywhere. She did ask what I was up to tonight though. I said I was going out with a friend for a drink and stopped there. She may read into that I suppose but I doubt it.
  7. I have a date tonight with a girl I met online. She seems very nice and I'm looking forward to it, but the girl from work that I've been out with a few times is still on my mind which probably doesn't bode well. I'm obviously not going to talk about her tonight, but even since we had the conversation about how she doesn't want to date someone from work after her last horrendous experience we keep having these moments. We just click and if I could just make her realise that the stress is in her head and if we're together it'd be as fun as it always is when we're just enjoying spending time together life would be so much easier. Oh well. I can't see her getting over this anytime soon and it's just a first date. Just going to try and enjoy it. We have a work's night out on Friday which I know she's coming to because she asked if I was going and staying out. That could be interesting.
  8. Agreed, the controls are quite fiddly. That and when a weapon breaks you have to equip a new one rather than Link automatically doing so with the next in the list. I have a habit of drawing my sword when I just want to sprint or drawing my bow when I want to draw my sword. I also completely forgot how to switch between the special abilities (magnetism, stasis etc.) when I came to play it for the second time. Got off the plateau last night and I think I might have missed a bit by exploring some nooks and crannies. The run to Kakariko is a bloody long one. It's still amazing though
  9. It's great, but how the hell do people play games with the Wii U controller? I don't have the biggest hands, admittedly, but it feels so clumsy. Wish I could use my GameCube pad instead.
  10. He's playing well and partners well with Chester but no way has he shown anything to suggest he should be our captain. I think he needs a more mature and level-headed centre back playing with him to bring out his best qualities. He has all the physical attributes but has always lacked the brain a bit for me.
  11. Getting my mate's Wii U in a bit so that's my evening sorted.
  12. I remember hearing Gareth had jumped ship to a goalkeeper's forum. As for the rest, who knows? Presumably many stop coming because Villa have been too depressing for the last few years and others may have actual lives. Saying that, I have a pretty active social life but I still manage. Perhaps it'd be different if I had a girlfriend. I reckon I'd still come and hang out with you reprobates even if I did though.
  13. Borrowing my mate's Wii U (he's daft and bought a Switch) to play this. Can't wait. What are the rest of you playing it on?
  14. Going to sell my Xbox One for this. I thought I could resist but like many, Zelda holds a special place in my heart and this game looks incredible.
  15. You contaminate fresh toast with old toast bits in the butter? You're a monster.
  16. My dad's a bastard for that. It's the main reason I moved out. Upon my exit I screamed, 'They eventually get mouldy, you old fool!' and slammed the door. We haven't spoken since.
  17. Older person in 'Back in my day everything was way better' shock. It's not rocket science yet people seem to be so stubborn about this whole thing. The stuff you grew up with is the stuff that helped make you the person you are today. You will always think of those things as 'yours' and have a great deal of sentimental value for them, as you will with more modern things that affect you on a deeper level. I find as people get to a certain age they're a lot less inclined to try new things and will therefore not be affected by them and instead focus on the past. My dad is getting to that stage and it genuinely frightens me that I'll get there some day too. Opinions that are shaped by what you consider 'your era', init? Obviously there are exceptions; some genuine, most others pretentious hipsters going against the grain to appear different and cool.
  18. Predominately women and people who don't care enough about music to go out and find stuff on their own and instead let the radio tell them what's popular. I didn't mind him at first, a couple of his songs were catchy and I think he has talent, but the fact he's now everywhere and that his latest songs are shit (don't get me started on that one which is a massive rip-off of Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye) has made me unable to ignore him and now I'm a bit fed up.

I believe Paddywhack runs in that circle too, which only serves to reinforce your point
  20. Agreed. It's all great but culminates in episode 9 which is not only exciting but absolutely nails the dark humour aspect too. Then, bizarrely, the final episode is a bit of a wash. I'd go as far as to say you don't even need to watch it. Shame it ends on a whimper but it doesn't detract from the nine stupendous episodes of television at its best that preceed it.

As far as I'm concerned trapping a thief with a PLJCF (Poo, Lettuce, Jizz, Cat Food) sandwich is absolutely fitting. From a legal perspective I understand, but morally I find it perfectly acceptable, nay, imperative. Cant stand behaviour like that and the dirty thieves would get what they deserved.
  22. Saw Les Diaboliques tonight as part of my local gallery's 'Hypnotica' season. I know a couple of you guys really rate it but I just couldn't get on with it. I just don't think I can take old films seriously, I must be spoilt being brought up n films in the late eighties and nineties. Any film pre-1970 (and a few post too) is just too cringeworthy and silly for me and it takes me out of the whole experience. Taxi Driver next week though. Can wait to finally see it on the big screen
