  1. It’s a constructive point to be fair and I think the clubs in debt this should be applied. I don’t see how relaxing the rules for clubs in that arnt in debt work however, well done you’ve ran yourself well and not get debt now you can have some debt doesn’t seem the right approach to football sustainability.
  2. I genuinely don’t think it was put in to protect the big clubs its just a happy bi-product for them. Stopping the likes of Leeds, Portsmouth and us run yourselves into the ground was the noble reason for it. The fact that the main part of FFP is driven towards a loss as base proves this, you just can’t be too red on the balance sheet. However if an owner wants to put in ridiculous amounts of money then that should be up to them as long it’s not loaned to the club or secured against the club in anyway. If you want to waste a fortune like Jack Walker in the 90s then go for it. I don’t think our owners want to hold us up but I’m sure they would put their hands in pockets to accelerate our growth, not being able to do that does protect the big teams we’re challenging against but ultimately that money would go on our balance sheet somewhere when our current income can’t deliver it. That’s FFP outside of all of the other commercial stuff.
  3. Complete bullshit, Chelsea have only signed two players over 25 under Boehly in sterling and Sanchez under. Man United can’t afford him unless he has a release clause far below his value. Hes top class and it’s a farce he hasn’t got caps for England. I don’t think id sell him for £80 mil on the premise we could invest it all back into the squad. However based on Sevilla Monchi might think different. We might have to accept big sales of the likes of Konsa and Luiz in order to keep on growing. I don’t think that is the tactic we are going for though.
  4. The problem with the welfare state is the visible bit or the people taking the piss. these are the ones that people focus on, unfortunately it has to be accessible and if you make that too stringent you will stop the people actually needing it from getting it. I know loads of “Tory” voters who think the whole system is those scroungers but in conversation not realising/recognising that they grew up in a council house, that with divorced parents they got free bus passes and free school meals, child care credits as adults, warm home discount (which is worth **** all) for their ageing parents. My mum works for the job centre and has all the stories of the bad but I’m glad it’s still there for if I ever need it and don’t begrudge people who have failed on hard times or have disabilities.
  5. As before I’d still love some big signings Frimpong being the one and if we sign Ngonge for about £15 mil then great. If we can’t sign someone like Frimpong I’m happy for us spend some of that money on the likes of Ronnie Edward’s, Jonathan Rowe, Adam Wharton, Jacob Greaves, Hayden Hackney, Miles Leaburn however spurious or non existent those links may be.
  6. You can potentially handle one player like sancho in a dressing room, United had similar personalities in Pogba and Lingard. And then different problems in Fernandes, Antony and Martinez who I imagine are all drama. Add in whatever Rashford and Maguire have been doing. Absolute car crash. To keep on topic Duran is getting pelters for his perceived behaviour. I think Villa and Emery have been pretty good at vetting the personality and I trust anyone we sign to fit in with the current lot or mix it up in the right way.
  7. I call bullshit on that Hackney link but now I want us to sign him
  8. Why and how would Aliens be at a mall in Miami
  9. Felipe Anderson on free is fine by me as long as the wages arnt too much and the contract too long. Yes he flopped at West Ham in a poor team but we need depth and he’s been good everywhere else. If you don’t think he’s up to it then fair enough. We all like to sign the next big thing but we need consistent quality across the board. Managing our budget so we can then go sign the likes of Diaby, Pau and hopefully Frimpong.
  10. See you next Christmas darts thread
  11. I really really hate the yellow lion
  12. I don’t think that makes you a mug, he was poor it’s okay to say it. His turn around is remarkable he’s fantastic.
  13. From a squad perspective we need a backup goalkeeper, right back, a centre back, a defensive midfielder, a midfielder, a winger and a striker we obviously arnt doing all of that in Jan and need outgoings first whether now or in the summer. Hopefully Buendia can get back to his best to be that attacking midfielder we’re missing. I’d love Gallagher who seems to be up for sale.He has the type of energy that mcginn has. Id be more than happy with Jonathan Rowe, Adam Wharton, Jacob Greaves from the championship. Expect people to sneer at these types of signings. Monchi can work his magic for the rest.
  14. They will lose to forest and beat spurs
  15. Missed Kamara and Pau. While some good moments from Carlos and Lenglet showed why they are not the starters. Luiz and Watkins anonymous, Mcginn and Konsa look knackered. Ramsey, Diaby and Zaniolo need a kick up the arse. Digne injured. Great game
  16. The only good thing about Digne being injured is this lot won’t know how good Moreno is
  17. This is the absolute point for me. The debt and facilities would be completely irrelevant. Everyone else has chairman that don’t win stuff including charlatans, criminals, incompetency and skint. But because it’s Man United it’s a terrible thing.
  18. Hojlund is getting his first goal Boxing Day
  19. Might as well bet on a dodgy Fernandes goal now. Actually Hojlund is clearly scoring his first prem goal.
  20. Nicho

    Matty Cash

Mine is his passing, made that error in the first minute or so and just continued from there. A very poor game from him but I think he has a place in our squad for certain games. Last night you would think was the perfect game for him, not that much pressure and chance to get forward. Maybe he needs the pressure from the opposition with a lot of time he looked a bit headless.
  21. I’d rather have one ref responsible for making mistakes than 3 of them all with their own opinions. As you say the ref was right next to the Mee challenge and on his own probably gives a red but give a yellow and let VAR look at it means he can make mistake and is happy to side on caution. Problem being is that sometimes VAR then says it isn’t clear and obvious and bad decisions continue. I would be interested to know how many straight reds have been given by refs this season without VAR.
