  1. I'm going to New York for the first time in June and want to watch some sport whilst there. The only thing on when I am there is Baseball with the New York Yankees at home, is it worth going to even for a non baseball fan?
  2. I didn't think it would work with him in the side today, it did. Immense performance.
  3. Best atmosphere of the season today, the Holte End was rocking. We need Villa Park like that every home game until the end of the season now.
  4. Would love to hear the Holte sing 'Jack will tear you apart again' tomorrow
  5. With Grealish in the side we will be looking to play the ball on the deck and knocking balls through for the striker, long ball isn't something we did so much of when Jack was on the pitch last month. Grabban or Hogan up front for me as they can play on the shoulder of the centre back or be a poacher in the box. Davis, at this stage, isn't good enough in front of goal. However in games where we need someone to hold the ball up for us, Davis is the better option as from long balls he brings the midfield into the game.
  6. Yeh they are absolutely terrible, defending like we did in 15/16
  7. Leeds are shocking, I can't work out if they are just really really bad or if Wolves are just better than I thought. I'm going with Leeds are just awful.
  8. Jack Grealish gliding his way from the halfway line at an opposition's defence is one of the greatest sights in football.
  9. Good solid win, hardly hard to step into second gear though as Sunderland were awful. We played the ball around well at times, although first half we were prone to pumping it long to Hogan as per usual. He looked a little lost up front, but worked hard closing the defence down. Grabban was superb, a lot more hardworking than Sunderland fans gave him credit for. Our defence were solid as always, Chester in particular was immense. Hourihane ran the show in the middle of the park, Whelan next to him broke the play up well although looked slow at times. Second half, once Grealish was introduced the passing football that we have started to become used to came back. He must be frightening to defend against. All in all a solid result and minutes under the belts for Grealish and Adomah going into Saturday.
  10. Adomah fit, Grealish back Tuesday. Hutton injured. Johnstone Elmo Chester Terry Taylor Snoddy Bjarnasson Hourihane Adomah Davis Grabban Time to bench Hogan as without Grealish the team won't play to his strengths. There's not point trying to shoehorn someone into Grealish's role as the attacking midfielder, instead we need to drop into a 4-4-2 and play both Grabban and Davis up top. Grabban to provide the energy and Davis to win the ball, win the flick ons and bring the midfield into the game. Hopefully Onomah is no where near this one. Bjarnasson in as he will be able to provide the legs in a two man midfield over Whelan & Jedinak I have a good feeling about this one, and we should have too much for QPR
  11. Nope, I understand he hasn't been great in the last 3 games but then the players that get the best out of him have been injured and the team has had to change for that reason. The style of football that this has resulted in hasn't worked in his favour, ideally we should have played Davis in these games as he can hold the play up better. However when players like Grealish & Adomah are back we will see Hogan firing again as he was over the winning streak not so long ago.
  12. But they are different types of players. That's like saying Hogan isn't very good in the air but Davis is and so Davis is the better striker. Jack plays the more attacking role next to Hourihane and links the play up between the wingers and the striker and so he results in us scoring more goals and winning games. Hourihane works relentlessly in the middle winning the ball back and feeding Grealish to do what he does best. It's not a coincidence that Hourihane has been less effective in the last 3 games when he hasn't had a player like Grealish next to him.
  13. But we play with the ball to create space for the wingers to cross the ball into the box where he scores. Instead of lumping it long to him and hoping for the best.
  14. He's actually one of the more intelligent footballers we have, his off the ball runs draw defenders to him and create space for players like Grealish & Hourihane. Unfortunately his run's are rarely picked out. On the ball he can run with it really well, he's not skillful but he is exceptionally quick. The problem is most of the time he picks the ball up to run with it from too deep due to the gap between the himself and the midfield, he then gives himself too much to do. He presses well, but again when he hasn't got players around him helping with the press then he looks as though he is running around after lost causes. Basically he needs a number 10 behind him to be the poacher that he is, if not he is wasted.
  15. Yeh I agree with that, with the team set up as it is we should be playing with Grabban or Davis up top to hold the ball up. It was most noticeable against Preston where Jedinak was smashing balls all over the place... I don't think Hogan won a single aerial challenge in that game.
  16. It's a gamble though... for the next two games against weaker opposition Bjarnasson should get the nod with the team set up as we did during the winning streak. If Jack isn't fit then O'Hare or Grabban should fill in, if Adomah isn't fit then Grabban should fill in out on the left. Bjarnasson has proved he can do it. We shouldn't be bending over backwards to accomodate Tuanzebe at this point in the season.
  17. I'm wondering how we are expecting him to play well when he's left up front with absolutely no service bar the odd long ball that's launched in his direction. We've utilized him in the right way recently playing the ball on the floor with Grealish, Adomah & Snodgrass supporting him and he soored 5 in 5... Crazy how a player can have a poor game and then suddenly be considered a terrible signing, much like Bjarnasson last week who has been MOTM in a few games but was then moved back to the left wing where he can't play and was considered an awful footballer again. Baffling...
  18. It's tough but if we have a fully fit squad available then we can beat anyone in this league as we proved last month.
  19. Biggest win of our season yesterday, picking up 3 points when we had so many players out injured, as well as putting a stop to the decline in form was absolutely massive. Hopefully by next weekend 1 or 2 players will be back and we can start to pick up the momentum again against a poor QPR side, followed by an even poorer Sunderland side. If we can get 9 points in a row by the end of that run then Cardiff and Fulham will hopefully drop points at some stage (Fulham have some tough ones, but Cardiff seem to be cruising again)... A Bristol City win would be brilliant today.
  20. I'm not really sure how we won that, and by two clear goals... Awful first half, however it was no surprise we played better when Onomah went off. I've defended him on here in the last few weeks but over the last two games he has been abysmal, bottles challenges, strolls around, gives the ball away. Taking him off and moving Grabban (who can play as a wide midfielder) opened the game up for us more with an outlet... who would have thought it. Snodgrass was brilliant as usual, his workrate is immense and he carried us through at the end driving us on. Defensively we were all over the place today, Whelan had a good game but, similar to Jedinak against Preston he now doesn't have the pace to keep up with a someone cuts in or turns on the edge of the box. Bjarnasson would have been the stronger option as Sheff Weds played a lot of balls on the deck when breaking. Second half a massive improvement, and hopefully we will see a few players back next week. Great 3 points all round!
  21. Must be Agnew with his new training sessions causing these hamstring injuries Agnew Out

    Keinan Davis

Davis liked this tweet yesterday, we spend most seasons complaining the manager doesn't give the youth players a chance... then a youngster breaks through and we slate him. Crazy
