  1. Happy with this, I think he deserves another six months to see where he can get us. Last season he came close after a terrible year personally, and with a team with a lot of injuries to key players. I think changing the manager this close to the season and putting someone like Henry in charge with zero experience would have massively hindered us at the start of the season. Those that don't agree with Bruce staying fair enough, but give him a chance and get behind him and the team. We all need to be pulling in the same direction this season, especially with the young players in the squad.
  2. I'm confused... doesn't take much... But why is Aston Villa under Recon Sports Limited on the companies house website? Have Sawiris and Eden bought Recon Sports? Or have they bought Aston Villa which is currently being floated as Recon Sports? I see the company house website has a historical overview back to the Lerner era, however it is titled Recon Sports...

    Thierry Henry

It's true that Bruce would have made the decision to bring these players to the club, but blaming him for transfer fees and wages is wrong. This isn't FIFA or Football Manager, the board, CEO and finance team handle that part of the deal and should be the ones taking the blame for our wage bill.

    Thierry Henry

For some reason I read the first line as Fabregas and David Seaman being stars of the show, and sat wondering why David Seaman would have been the star at a wedding party. I then continued the sentence, it got weirder and I then realised David Seaman was not there. Little story for you to take your minds of the pending managerial rumours of the day.
  5. When I talk about football I sound as though I know a thing or two... put me in charge of a football club and it would be a different story...
  6. That would definately be an option, but a director of football would need to be the one with managerial experience to in some ways mentor Henry if this is the route we were to go down. I imagine a Wenger, Henry, Bould combination is out of the question but that would make me a lot more comfortable with the situation.
  7. Realistically, Thierry Henry has the same experience of managing at club level as Gabby Agbonlahor... now who would like to see Agbonlahor in charge this season? In my mind it's crazy, it has the potential to turn out like Di Matteo, Garde or as someone mentioned Zola for Blues. You need experience in this league, the last two winners of the league had Nuno and Benitez in charge although neither had Championship experience they both had managerial experience. Second places, Brighton with Hughton, Cardiff with Warnock... experience. We need stability. If we bring in Henry, give him some money to spend then it all goes down the pan in 3 months we again have players on board that the new manager doesn't want. Di Matteo/Bruce all over again. Granted Burce doesn't put a team out to play football, and that fault could possibly see him leave today. But you can't knock the way he has turned the club, its atmosphere and the way us fans have gotten back on board with it all. If he is to leave we need to find a manager who can come in and start where Bruce left it, but with the ability to get us playing some good football. Henry, for me, is a risk that we shouldn't be taking...
  8. I think I am with you on this, I wouldn't be against Bruce staying but only for stability reasons (his football is terrible). However I am pretty worried about who they are going to end up putting in charge of the club... if it's Henry then it has the potential to be Di Matteo all over again, panicking in 3 months time when we are struggling to pick up a win, transfer budget wasted on awful players on long term deals.
  9. We have players we can sell. Jedinak or Whelan, one or two of our 4 right backs, Gardner Then there are players who we could sell if we are able to get replacements in. For example if we were able to sell Bjarnason for 5 million knowing that there is a replacement lined up for him for 2 million then its worth doing. Sell Taylor and loan a left back with an option to buy next season etc. etc. Add to that the Traore money which we will hopefully be receiving, plus the Gil money which I believe hasn't come in yet
  10. If we can get around FFP to an extent, bringing down the 40 million to say 20 million and then offload a few fringe players then we will be in a position to offer contracts and bring in cheap, free, loan players.
  11. As much as I would love JT back at Villa, I think with the impending FFP issue... even if we are able to get round it slightly, bringing a player back on 60k per week might be a bit of a slap in the face to the EFL... Also the plan to rebuild with youth that we have all spoken about lately with the 'going under' situation', JT doesn't really fit in with that. As I said before though JT & Snodgrass back would be brilliant for us... but we also need to look at things differently this time...
  12. I've watched him for the U23's and he's a good player, maybe a little too light weight at the moment and Suliman is slightly ahead of him in his development. It would be good to bring him in for some cup games and see what he can do, it all hinges on if Chester stays, and if we can get another quality centre back in on the cheap to replace JT/Samba.
  13. If he still wants to stay and we can do that with FFP then we should offer him a new contract bringing him upto 40-50k... a lot of money but he is now worth it. Also put a clause in the contract that he can leave at the end of the season if he wishes if we aren't promoted. Our promotion hopes are massively improved with Jack in the side, and I think if we can keep hold of both Grealish & Kodjia we could see something special next season.
  14. Xia's probably already taken a loan out against it...
  15. Amazing, the last one looks like Paul Hollywood
  16. And saved us all from 24 hours of hurt... you horrible horrible man ?
  17. Literally has nothing to do with this topic...
  18. When will we see the new 5 year plan...
  19. Sheikh Mounsour is worth 4.9 Billion Nassef Sawiris is worth 5.6 Billion
  20. Now I believe it, first credible source ?
  21. Would love this to be true... but I unfollowed him on Twitter last transfer window as its all 'ITK' ****
  22. I would love that as well but in all honesty it won't happen. Adomah £5M, Bjarnason £5M, Jedinak £1M, Lansbury £3M, Elphick £1m - £15M... plus possibly a 1-2M saving on wages If Jack were to be sold for £25M thats a £10M difference However the only reason we have to sell Jack is due to the FFP... but we still havent been given an actual figure we need to make up by the club. Press speculation is between £30M and £40M... there is a chance it is less than that, in which case we could probably take the 'wait until January for sales' approach
  23. It will just mean we have to sell 5-6 first team players instead of Jack... ultimately the decision is going to be sell Jack to keep the rest of the squad for next season. I don't know how a potential takeover influences FFP, but I'm pretty sure the 40M FFP blackhole we have created for ourselves will be there regardless of who owns the club.
  24. He want's to stay, but unfortunately we have a 40m black hole in regards to FFP and he is the most saleable asset we have so ultimately we have to sell him. The decision has been made to sell him whether he likes it or not.
  25. Could it be tomorrow... Fajita Friday?
