  1. Thats generally how football works...
  2. I just started Suits last night and it's brilliant. Does it go downhill as the seasons go by or is it still a decent watch?
  3. Johnstone Elmo Chester Terry Hutton Jedinak Snodgrass Grealish Hourihane Adomah Hogan I would be tempted to throw Bjarnasson, Tuanzebe or Whelan in for Jedinak as he has travelled and played a lot of football in the space of a week.
  4. Grealish has looked like the player we saw last season again in the last 3 games. In all 3, first half he was driving at the defenders and trying to pull the strings, however he then slowly dissaperared from the games. Bruce isn't helping him by changing the formation with his substitions meaning he has to play a centre midfielders role in a two and becoming less effective in the attacking 3rd. I think Hogan & Hourihane would both help Jack get back to his best, and i'm hoping we see it tonight.
  5. For a man who continually talks about boxing clever he wouldn't make a very good boxer.
  6. We have no chance of automatics, Cardiff are a much more consistent side than us and will win the amount of games they require to retain second...
  7. 20 minute cameo tomorrow would be perfect. As greedy as he can be you can't underestimate his influence carrying the ball forward, its something that Grealish has brought to the team since returning and in the games he was injured for recently we badly missed it. Having two players in the team centrally who are prepared to keep hold of the ball, and a carry the ball forward is a massive asset heading into the final part of the season. We just can't rush him back this time, and realistically we shouldn't need to with Grabban, Hogan and Davis all available. Buzzing to see him back in action tomorrow night.
  8. Johnstone Elmo Chester Terry Hutton Whelan Snodgrass Grealish Hourihane Adomah Hogan Whelan back in as he will help us to break up the play. Bjarnasson was poor against Bolton, although I don't think it was the game for him. Jedinak will be knackered after playing in some more pointless friendlies. I would be half tempted to throw Davis in after his two goals in the last week. But I think Grealish works well with players who can make runs off the ball, Grabban hasn't worked for the last two games so give Scotty another go. We really should have too much for Hull and this could start us on another run on wins. There is 100% no point in throwing a load of kids out there at this stage of the season, it would be ridiculous and I find it strange that people would even consider that after the season we have had.
  9. I think Kodjia is probably the most creative striker we have had in years (bar maybe Benteke), at times he picked up the ball last season and you would instantly think he was going to create a chance to score. He creates goals in the sense of creating a chance for himself to score rather than creating a chance for someone else to score.
  10. How has it been worth it? After two seasons we are going to miss out on automatic promotion for a second time and have a 1 in 4 chance in a playoff lottery. With the money that the club has spent we should be doing a lot better than we currently are. Tactically Bruce hasn't been good enough again this season, to achieve promotion in this league you need to win the majority of your games, we have done this in spurts but then end it with a succession of poor results due to his stubbornness to play players in the correct positions or play attacking, possession based football football. I would think most managers in this league, with the funds and players that Bruce has had at their disposal would have achieved as much if not more.
  11. Out of the running for the automatic promotion hunt... But just remember Steve Bruce has been promoted four times, Jack Grealish once had a really good game against Liverpool at Wembley and John Terry has won more than most teams in this league. Embarrasing When you look at the squad that we have assembled and the money we have spent we should be picking up wins at the same rate as Wolves and Cardiff. This is both the players for the sudden lack of drive to ensuring we maintain our run, and the manager for being completely tactically inept.
  12. This for me as well... I think QPR will park the bus and Bjarnasson will add to the energy in the team in helping to break them down. Fast paced football as we saw in the second half on Saturday and we will have a win in the bag.
  13. I'm going to New York for the first time in June and want to watch some sport whilst there. The only thing on when I am there is Baseball with the New York Yankees at home, is it worth going to even for a non baseball fan?
  14. I didn't think it would work with him in the side today, it did. Immense performance.
  15. Best atmosphere of the season today, the Holte End was rocking. We need Villa Park like that every home game until the end of the season now.
  16. Would love to hear the Holte sing 'Jack will tear you apart again' tomorrow
  17. With Grealish in the side we will be looking to play the ball on the deck and knocking balls through for the striker, long ball isn't something we did so much of when Jack was on the pitch last month. Grabban or Hogan up front for me as they can play on the shoulder of the centre back or be a poacher in the box. Davis, at this stage, isn't good enough in front of goal. However in games where we need someone to hold the ball up for us, Davis is the better option as from long balls he brings the midfield into the game.
  18. Yeh they are absolutely terrible, defending like we did in 15/16
  19. Leeds are shocking, I can't work out if they are just really really bad or if Wolves are just better than I thought. I'm going with Leeds are just awful.
  20. Jack Grealish gliding his way from the halfway line at an opposition's defence is one of the greatest sights in football.
  21. Good solid win, hardly hard to step into second gear though as Sunderland were awful. We played the ball around well at times, although first half we were prone to pumping it long to Hogan as per usual. He looked a little lost up front, but worked hard closing the defence down. Grabban was superb, a lot more hardworking than Sunderland fans gave him credit for. Our defence were solid as always, Chester in particular was immense. Hourihane ran the show in the middle of the park, Whelan next to him broke the play up well although looked slow at times. Second half, once Grealish was introduced the passing football that we have started to become used to came back. He must be frightening to defend against. All in all a solid result and minutes under the belts for Grealish and Adomah going into Saturday.
  22. Adomah fit, Grealish back Tuesday. Hutton injured. Johnstone Elmo Chester Terry Taylor Snoddy Bjarnasson Hourihane Adomah Davis Grabban Time to bench Hogan as without Grealish the team won't play to his strengths. There's not point trying to shoehorn someone into Grealish's role as the attacking midfielder, instead we need to drop into a 4-4-2 and play both Grabban and Davis up top. Grabban to provide the energy and Davis to win the ball, win the flick ons and bring the midfield into the game. Hopefully Onomah is no where near this one. Bjarnasson in as he will be able to provide the legs in a two man midfield over Whelan & Jedinak I have a good feeling about this one, and we should have too much for QPR
  23. Nope, I understand he hasn't been great in the last 3 games but then the players that get the best out of him have been injured and the team has had to change for that reason. The style of football that this has resulted in hasn't worked in his favour, ideally we should have played Davis in these games as he can hold the play up better. However when players like Grealish & Adomah are back we will see Hogan firing again as he was over the winning streak not so long ago.
