    Okoberfest

Absolutely yes it is worth going. I've been three times and it was as much fun a Ive ever had. Crazy crazy place
  2. You don't need stats to tell you what your eyes can see. That is that we are much much better organised this year and tougher to break down. That means as long as you create something in a game you'll always have a chance of getting a decent result. Moyes did very well for about a decade at Everton with this formula.
  3. I think its different strokes for different folks. I use the gym to make me better at the other sports I do outside of the gym so I like to have a balance between building strength and building endurance. Mixing it up keeps it interesting (for me) and gives me the all round workout I'm looking for. I am not worried about getting massive by constantly pushing max's more want to be in good all round shape. Though saying that I do reset my max's about every 4 weeks which then feeds into the % I do for everything else.
  4. Warnock - My approach is to keep my body guessing so it never gets used to doing the same type of thing. So each week I have a different theme for the weight and reps I'm doing. One week it may do a 5 or 3 rep max similar to what Stevo suggested, next week I might do a bodyweight week so high rep but much lower weight, next week superslow reps at 70%, next week Tabata sets. etc No pattern to it just decide at start of week what your going to do, so many variations out there. It keeps going to the gym interesting as well because your not getting bored doing the same stuff.
  5. I'd agree with SGC that Robinson is a good finisher but also with Rob in that I'm not sure he has the major weapon to make him a premier league striker. His biggest asset is his work rate and pestering of defenders. He is a born again Paul Dickov really so if he does make it and that's a big if then he will have carved his career out of stone through sheer hard work. However most premier league strikers have a bit more to their game than that these days, however his body/game is still developing so who knows.
  6. Arsenal were absolutely terrible last night, people are blaming the defence but it was Wilshere and Arteta who were the weak links. It was just wave after wave of attacks coming from midfield. Dortmund were a joy to watch though, really pleased Klopp has been able to rebuild his squad effectively. In terms of Villa though I don't think it will have passed Keane and Lambert by that Dortmund pressed the hell out of Arsenal in midfield and attack, got stuck into their lightweight midfielders and then broke at pace. Its almost enough to make you feel confident but that's not a feeling which comes easy to a Villa fan. Also its difficult to imagine that Arsenal can play that bad again.
  7. Yep 100% true when I started using MyFitnessPal I realised what I thought was a normal meal was actually a serving for two, sometimes even three. When I stuck to recommended servings it looked really small on the plate but when you eat it its fine, not left hungry or anything. I'm at the point now where I don't want to lose any more weight and I enjoy all the different types of exercise I do so I can start to build up the calories to find a balance.
  8. If you remember Stevo you gave some good advice a few months back when I was trying to get chiselled for my honeymoon. Worked a treat, I used MyFitnessPal and got to around 10% body fat in 3 weeks. Never realised how big a part diet plays which sounds stupid when you write it down. Anyway I found it a piece of piss to knock the weight off no idea what all the fuss is about. As predicted I put it all back on in 7 days of all inclusive bliss while I was away but using the small and easy changes I made to diet I lost it all again quickly on return.
  9. Big day on Sat for Fabian - head to head with Wilshere - you know Woy will be in the crowd. He needs to boss him and show him who should be starting in midfield for the next few years.
  10. I thought he was excellent in their 0-0 with us at their place last year
  11. Been a while since I've seen a game like that. The strategy for QPR seemed to be to get every man behind the ball and then stand about 5 yards away from each player, no press, no challenge nothing. Man Utd were almost walking and passing it around them ending up at the box and then shooting. I'd assume QPR would play with more confidence against other sides but they were so bad it was untrue yesterday. So hoping they get relegated.
  12. If ever people wonder about Keanes influence you only have to look at that tackle two mins after Sterling came on and Senderos kicking Balotelli throughout the game
  13. When he did that challenge against Long I hated him because it showed him to be the thug he is but when he nearly sliced Sterling in half yesterday I was cheering him on and loving him for it. And they call us fickle...
  14. Basically won us 6 points in the last two games
  15. Never seen him play a full match but probably worth remembering he is 17 so four years younger than most on display. Was there anyone who did look decent Jonno?
  16. I love the Gym End of anecdote
  17. For those saying Liverpool have an eye on CL whilst true I think Rodgers will be taking this game very seriously after the last two years. I think Balotelli and Gabby will also be bang up for it so should be a good game.
  18. Rooney still starts for me, think he is still one of our best players. Yes he has poor games as does everyone. Difference is he also has good games and people these days say he played crap when what they mean is the team played crap. With regards to Wilshere I think he is a talented player in the same way I think Delph is a talented player. I'd agree Wilshere is living off reputation more than anything at the moment. One of those who looks to have regressed since coming on to the scene but that is a standard storey and there is still time for him to develop as a player. He is definitely not a sitting midfielder and I'd assume he and Delph will be competing for the same spot of the next year or two if we continue in this formation.
  19. Agree that Wilshere was pants but it's not a position he's ever played before so I won't crucify him too much. That said though it was an experiment that didn't quite work in my eyes, be interesting to see whether Woy perseveres with it. More to the point though there is a spot as DM in England just waiting for someone to emerge in the next two years and make it there own. If I was someone like Westwood I'd be seeing that as a real opportunity and I'm sure there are a number of other players out there thinking the same.
  20. Apparently Wilshere is sitting, interesting experiment but shows how weak we are in this area. Wilshere should keep us ticking reasonably well but he is no kind of defensive presence at all At least it will allow Delph to play his normal game
  21. Playing in middle with Henderson and Wilshere difficult to see who is going to sit there. It feels like a very Woy decision to finally call Fab up and then play him DM
  22. Is it actually confirmed we have a agreed a fee then? Think I missed that.
  23. To be fair though if we have a decent few months and Cleverly is a significant part of that then the difference between ourselves and Everton is unlikely to be all that great. Say we were 9th, Everton 7th and Cleverly is in form, back in England squad and being lauded. Would he want to stay where things were going well or move to Everton and compete with Ross Barkley for a place in the team?
