  1. The same guy thinks he was talking about Darren Bent.
  2. "All will be ok don't worry everyone, we're not going to sign anyone, but we scored 2 goals in the first half vs the Baggies so we are going to be fine." Brian Doogan, head of media at Villa. That is pretty much what he said on BBC WM. He forgot we conceded 2 goals in the second half and nearly lost the game in the end...
  3. Lerner has put us in this mess, he should get us out of it with his personal funds. Doesn't sound like he has any intention though. He's happy to let us go down without any help. Lerner should stay well away from sports teams in future, he is a terrible owner.
  4. So then, we can't afford wages and transfer fees. Everything they have enquired about has been "way too high". God we are **** doomed. Lambert taking the fall for Lerner. So bloody disapointed in our ownership, they are letting this great club down. It's all about the money, nothing more with Lerner now... Go away Randy, I hope your searching out viable options to sell the club.
  5. Birmingham Mail:At least Aston Villa chairman Randy Lerner has got SOMETHING to smile about.. Hahaha... Enjoy that extra £300 million Randy.
  6. Gutted, just what we bloody needed in our midfield. Fed up with this transfer market shit. Bollocks.
  7. The PR people at our club are very evident in the latest Lambert press conference on AVTV. When asked about his conversations with Randy Lerner around half way through, a bloke from the PR department tries his best to stop the journo from asking the question to Paul, but the journo was having none of it and eventually got his question away to Paul. Lambert's answer wasn't very good though, just said "Rebuild the club, the same as from when I came in." Not sure how he is supposed to rebuild a club without money...
  8. Aston Villa - Proud History, 50% off sale May 19th.
  9. Indeed, I thought when we bought him in we had a manager with plenty of guts, someone who would fight his corner. From what I've seen since he came here, he is really the opposite.
  10. Aston Villa - Breaking records since 2010! Bad ones. Aston Villa - Buy planes, not players.
  11. **** off Lerner! Just **** off now and sell up! Don't care about Villa no more it seems. Won't sign players because we might go down? Not exactly a vote of confidence to our team. If people want to protest about something, they should protest about the people running the club at the top. Be a disaster if we go down, but it would be pathetic if we went down without trying to avoid it. Lambert should put his foot down and if Lerner tells him to go for doing so, he should.
  12. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/8430211/ So frustrating if we are not bidding for Sissoko, sounds desperate to come to the Premier League according to these quotes.
  13. James Nursey's latest article in The Mirror. That highlighted part is extremely depressing if true. I'm all for putting faith in young players, just not shit/average ones. We've got plenty of those. Sign some good ones!
  14. This might put an end to peoples "dreams" of signing M'Vila. Transfer Clockwatch ‏@TransferClock_ Yann M'Vila has agreed to join Rubin Kazan from Rennes. Rejecting a number of teams from the Premier League.
  15. Our chances of signing better players surely took a big dent last night. The prospect of playing in a final and potentially getting into Europe would have been an extra pull.
  16. If Vlaar is taking the press conference then the manager isn't out with the team training, as Vlaar would be there too. Maybe he is away trying to sort out some deals (one can only hope).
  17. Hopefully because he is sorting out deals.
  18. Hate to say it but Paul Lambert is doing a terrible job, but what can we do now. It takes us ages to appoint a new manager and if we did sack him we'd need a replacement in on the day like what Southampton did, with transfer funds available for the new manager. Not going to happen so it looks like we're stuck with Lambert. No sugar coating what Lamberts done now, he selects the player, he failed to indentify our weaknesses in the summer transfer window and his tactics have been bizarre to say the least. Yesterday was a fkin disgrace.
  19. Lots of interesting transfer gossip/speculation going on in here. I'm gonna go "take a Valium."
  20. I hope we're bloody well in for Sissoko, but the longer it goes on the more I think we're put off. It's sad if we can't seem to compete in the transfer market with Newcastle, but especially bottom of the league QPR. We are crying out for Moussa Sissoko in midfield a lot more than QPR & Newcastle are. QPR have Diakite and M'Bia who can play that role, whilst Newcastle have Anita and Tiote.
  21. A new quality midfielder is so, so important to the team. I'd go as far as to say a new midfielder of quality would be just as important to us as Bent was when we forked out the £18-£24m on him 2 years ago. We've not had a real quality midfielder since Milner. So in my opinion, we should push the boat out in order to get a bloody good one of up to £10-£12m. Will that happen though? Probably not. We'll probably buy 2/3 average players instead at best because they won't want the big wages.
  22. Indeed, it's amazing how good he is in the opposition box when attacking a corner, compared to how terrible he is at defending one. Both times it's about winning the ball.
  23. Paul Lambert talking about concentrating on games rather than bringing players in right now and has been saying similar things for the past 2 weeks. Have we got not people to sort out transfers or must Lambert do absolutely everything?
  24. Relegations battles or playing in the championship are not ways to pull in or keep major sponsors happy... Not a surprise.
  25. Lambert needs to stop f*ckin clutching at straws in his quotes. Talking about being in this position for 3 years with experienced players constantly is grinding with me. Well no for a start it's been 2 years and secondly it hasn't been this bad. I always had the sense that in the past two seasons that we had too good a players to go down and that they'd pull through. They did. However this year I don't feel that at all. Each year teams in the league have been getting better, whilst we have been getting worse. We're conceeding goals like never before and we're not scoring. Lambert, right now we are relegation fodder, forget constantly praising your players, they don't deserve any.
