  1. Agree and Scott Dann is still on a big wage at Blackburn. Said in paper the other day he'd have to drop wages to join Palace. Reportedly on £32k a week, which is more than most of our current crop.
  2. Wheres the Scott Dann news come from anyway?
  3. Did well against City first leg of the cup game. He didn't fare so well conceding 3 goals to Blues the week before at Ewood Park mind. Dann is poor. Looked rubbish in prem with Blackburn and judging by Blackburn's record in the championship defensively for the past season and half. Last time he seemed decent was when he was like 23, pre injury at SHA. I'd be pretty pissed with the signing of Dann if he is the player. Holt, Dann, not the sort of players to sort out dreadful home form out, unless Lambert thinks Dann+Holt = 10.
  4. Sounds like people are putting 1+1 together since Cortese left Southampton and making up their answers in my opinion.
  5. Looked a different level to the rest of the youth players, his experience playing proper football told. Too good for that level. All opposition could do was foul him, had no answers when it came to getting the ball off him. He shouldn't have to play for the U18's again in my opinion.
  6. Holt, the creative midfielder we've been after! Saviour!
  7. Would take Kyle Naughton, gotta be better than Luna and Bennett at left back, even though he is a right back. Played left back quite a few times for Spurs.
  8. Those quotes from Shaun Derry are very encourage. Is there any chance he is being bought back to Villa to play a part in the first team for the rest of the season? We could do with someone with Jack's technique and skill in the team. Lets be honest now, he'd be a better option than Tonev!
  9. “There are lads out there that we’ve looked at and we’ve tried. Some are way out of league and are just not possible but there’s not any great update." In Lerner's bank account by the sounds of it, probably where it will be staying. Depressing. So Lambert wanted some players, but Lerner basically said, no.
  10. Lambert didn't exactly sound confident about being able to bring in quality in the press conference on the official site. Mentioning certain things he's looked into not being financially possible. Gloom!
  11. I don't see the point in Randy Lerner owning a football club of the prestige of Villa (unless if he is making good money). It's like having a Ferrari and never using it. Fans deserve better for a club of this size.
  12. Were Ireland's wage off the books anyway because he was on loan till the end of the contract? Were Stoke not paying his entire wages?
  13. Shocking bid! We're a proper Poundland shoppers now! Lerner, jog on!
  14. Would be a good signing at the price stated. Sort of player we are lacking. I just hope, thats not it though!
  15. What other teams think of "Lambert's Lions" when coming to Villa Park.
  16. We need a couple of big signings to freshen up and inspire the dressing room + the fanbase. At the moment things are getting more and more sour.
  17. How has he become so bad in 6 months? Absolutely awful player.
  18. If you are building a squad for 40m, you are not going to get the best players out there. Against a team that cost 20p, you can expect a bit more.
  19. What planet you been on for last 18 months? Have you seen our home games? It took us near 70 mins just to register a shot on target.
  20. I'm gonna get drunk, just like the players are probably doing right now. If Lamburke ain't going to get sacked or walk, then please for the love of god Randy Lerner, give him some serious cash. Not just £1.5 million.
  21. Woah! I think I'm having a bad acid flashback. Is the same Defour we we were going to sign in 2009? Can I just reiterate that +70% of all transfer rumours from most sites are complete BS!!! 2009 strain of bullsh1t http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1165267/Standard-Lieges-golden-boy-Defour-tells-Villa-boss-ONeill-I-want-sign-you.html 2014 strain of bullsh1t http://www.insidefutbol.com/2014/01/03/yes-aston-villa-track-steven-defour-agent-confirms-english-sides-interest-in-fc-porto-midfielder/118182/ And we actually used to spend money in 2009, so Defour seems even more unlikely under Randy's current financial constraints.
