Yeah I agree, getting into the top 7/8 would be like getting into the top 4. Randy Lerner was good for first 3 years, but he's not the owner to get Villa where most fans want, competing regularly in the top third of the table. There is a lot of, we have a big dormant fan base, we've got incredible history, a decent sized stadium and we're the biggest club in the second most populous area of England. Also top class training facilties and youth set up. Think we are a very good prospect for a mega rich billionaire, at the right price.

We don't desperately need another LB unless Bennett is off somewhere. Don't you think that 90% of the time our LB's are desperatley crap though? Betrand is clearly of better quality and came also play left midfield, has for Chelsea on many occasions.

I'm not so sure he would be better. I think both Baker and Clark are good players, but only when playing alongside Vlaar. With Clark & Baker together, it just doesn't seem to work.

Looked rubbish in prem with Blackburn and judging by Blackburn's record in the championship defensively for the past season and half. Last time he seemed decent was when he was like 23, pre injury at SHA. I'd be pretty pissed with the signing of Dann if he is the player. Holt, Dann, not the sort of players to sort out dreadful home form out, unless Lambert thinks Dann+Holt = 10. I seem to remember Dann and Johnson were a pretty good pairing at SHA. I suspect partnering him with Vlaar would create a much more solid defence. If it is to happen I would guess its an outright purchase. Yeah, but since they've been separated, which has been a good 3/4 years (because of Danns long term injury at SHA and then being sold), both careers have gone down hill and have looked poor. Dann looked poor in the Premier League with Blackburn and doesn't sound like he's been great in the Championship for nearly 2 years. This is not the same Scott Dann of 2009. Whats the point?
