  1. KMAC is a good coach but a woeful manager, he managed about 7 games and except for West Ham the performance was poor Considering the team were shellshocked by the manager's departure so suddenly wouldn't have helped matters but yeah you are probably right KMAC is not the answer in the long term. I'd just rather have him than McLeish right now.
  2. In one of his recent press conferences he said something about Bent having to change his game when questioned on why Bent was such an isolated figure upfront. I can't stand how everyone is laughing at how boring we are. Those comments from Keegan and Barnes sum it all up really. McLeish is out of his depth and thinks he is still managing a team that needs to scrap and grind out points. In his mind I bet he thinks losing 1-0 to Man Utd is not a bad result. The fact we didn't even try to win the game will be lost on him.
  3. That's exactly what I said to my dad earlier. If we are going to be in this kind of position we may as well have someone who knows these players and has got the best out of them in the past (albeit in the reserves). At least during his caretaker spell we attacked. Our defense was pretty suspect but I still would take Kmac over what is going on now.
  4. The media love-in is quite sickening right now. Steve Claridges comments about how great O'Neill is at working on a budget were laughable. Pat Murphy's article was that of an old man yearning for an old lover, pathetic stuff. O'Neill will get Sunderland to the top half probably but he'll be gone in a couple of years when his vision doesn't match that of the owner. I maintain that MON is a nice bloke, I don't wish him any ill but as a manager he came up short at Villa and we got as far as he could take us. I'd take that over what we have now but I hate the national media feeling that we were nothing before MON and are back to our rightful place now he is gone. It's insulting and just wrong.
  5. A lot of people always said MON was great at making average players good or even great. Now we have a manager who makes good players average or shit. I'm pretty sure the 7 men on our bench would have beaten the 11 that started the other night.
  6. Yes. Him and his family now live in the Birmingham area
  7. my team against Swansea would be something like this -------------------------Given------------------------------ Cuellar--------Dunne-----------Clark----------Warnock --------------------------Herd------------------------------- ----------------Jenas---------------Bannan---------------- Gabby-------------------------------------------N'Zogbia ---------------------------Bent------------------------------ My fear is the team most likely will be this -------------------------Given------------------------------ Hutton--------Collins-----------Dunne----------Warnock --------------------------Herd------------------------------- ----------------Petrov-------------Jenas---------------- Gabby-------------------------------------------Heskey ---------------------------Bent------------------------------ same shit with Jenas in for Cuellar. Collins, Hutton, Heskey need dropping. Nzogbia has to be allowed to find his form. Petrov has been alright this year but there is no future in him so I'd stick with Herd right now.
  8. When we signed him I was not too impressed but he proved to be decent that first season. Since then he has become exactly the player I thought he was.... and that is shit. Championship player who got lucky. Get rid.
  9. I imagine he'd be a bit like Franz Beckenbauer at the back, striding forward with authority and laying the ball off to James Collins to hoof upfield as high and far as possible. The beautiful game.
  10. Indeed, but that doesn't change the fact that he's still pretty shit. No doubt about it. He is a poor striker and a **** disgrace of a midfielder.
  11. To be fair to Heskey he is not the one asking or demanding to be played out of position.
  12. I think Warnock gets a bad rap here because of those alleged comments he made last season. In a team that is organised and knows what they are doing he is a more than adequate left back for a good premier league team.
  13. I really want to know if McLeish is coaching our players to pass the ball or if he is advocating that they play hoof ball. All we do is try and get rid of the ball as quick as possible and hope Gabby can run onto it. He says we didn't retain the ball well enough - does he want us too? All I have seen is Collins whacking the **** out of the ball every time it comes near him. If McLeish were manager of Arsenal or Man Utd would he use these dour tactics? I just can't believe he wants us to play like we are as it is was such a joke tonight.
  14. If we are taken over by that Qatar group you can be sure that all the history and traditions of our club will vanish. No more Villa Park that is for sure. I admire what Lerner has done here. He has protected our history and amplified it in many ways. The Holte Pub, the respect and celebration of the 1982 squad and Ron Saunders was great. He tried really hard and got so close to breaking into the top 4 with all the money spent by MON, those were good days. The problem we had was that many players wanted to play for MON not Villa. I'm hoping that what we see in the next couple of years is a squad who have pride in playing for Villa, hopefully a couple of our young local players such as Gardner will be class and we build around them. Do you really want people with the attitude of Tevez coming here? The only reason superstars will come to Villa will be for money. I would hope for a little more investment from Randy when we have the wages down to whatever level he deems appropriate but I would rather the club didn't sell it's soul in it's quest for success. This obsession with money is unsettling and part of the reason why the world is so messed up right now. Greed gets you nowhere at the end of the day.
  15. Two of the shitter Villa legacies of all time. Didier Six shits on both of them.
  16. Alan Green has never said a good word about Villa. He used to hate O'Neill and laughed off any speculation about him getting 'bigger' jobs. If Bent was at United or Liverpool he would love him. I'm sure he now thinks Ashley Young is world class but when O'Neill made the Messi comments he had a field day.
  17. I know we have to be patient with him but he looks class. 2 great goals tonight. Could he be our Gerrard?
  18. I'd rather have Ireland in midfield than Heskey.
  19. I'm getting really sick of all this 'Mcleish will make us a solid, mid table team' shit. That is the worse possible thing to be. Boring, negative football where you would rather not lose than win. Plus we are just as abysmal at defending set pieces as we were under Houllier. He defends players like Collins who has been awful and plays Heskey in midfield. I am trying to be patient with him but he is doing himself no favours with his tactics and team selection right now.
  20. It would also be great if he went absolutely apeshit after he scored and really rubbed in their faces Adebeyor vs Arsenal style. That would make me laugh but I'm sure he'll go for the reserved non-celebration should he hit the back of the net.
  21. He is a goal and assist machine for me on my first season. Even Alan Hutton is good!
  22. Surely appealing this ridiculous red card is a no brainer. How can the FA back up the ref here? Far more stupid than the Rodwell red card the other week. I've watched it back a few times and I am still in awe of how shit that decision from Dowd was.
  23. I think that if Delph had come through our youth system people would be very excited about him. It's just because he cost a fair bit of cash people expect the finished article already. Hopefully Gary Gardner isn't given the same stick being dished out to Delph when he breaks through to the team. Patience.
