Lambert was my initial choice though I'll admit to getting a bit wrapped up in the Solksjaer thing. Now it's looking like Lambert will be our manager I am very happy. Definitely a better choice than Rodgers or Martinez. Hopefully we can look forward to good football, passion for the shirt and maybe a few home wins next year!

Sadly the only time I recall this happening was Bosnich at Spurs.

Very strange that out of all the supposed candidates for the job the 2 the fans seem to be against are the 2 that have won the Champions League (Benitez and Di Matteo). But somehow I think that is the right way to feel right now. Benitez would need money and with Di Matteo I really don't know what to expect. I would be much more comfortable with Martinez, Lambert or Villas-Boas as these are managers with something to prove in the Premier League. I honestly wouldn't touch Brendan Rogers. I just don't believe he is the mastermind behind what has happened to Swansea and would much prefer either of the 3 mentioned above.

Hoddle has never really recovered his reputation after the England sacking incident. I think he was a very good manager but his time has passed him by.

As long as we don't end up with someone like Grayson or Southgate then I'll be fine. Whether it's Lambert, Poyet or Martinez or others of this ilk then we really can't complain.

I'd have to say Villas Boas would be my top choice now if Lambert is out. I'm scared shitless at the growing murmur of Simon Grayson.

Oh God. Celtic fans used to sing a version of this with Henrik Larsson's name inserted. A gawdawful song, even in it's unadapted form, and I say that with all due respect. Can't somebody come up with some OGS-themed lyrics to fit into a song like The Buff Medways' The Least Disappointing Man, or Truly Fine Citizen by Moby Grape instead? Yeah I cringe at the thought of us singing songs that other teams used. We need our own or just a good old 'Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's claret and blue army'. It's been too long since we've been able to belt that one out.

I hope the Di Matteo rumours is bollocks. I have respect for what he has done at Chelsea but he has now won the big prize meaning he is not a hungry, up and coming manager. I just don't think it would work. Ole Gunnar or Lambert will be fine with me. (Hoping it is OGS)

I can see darren Bent scoring a lot of goals with OGS as manager. Also reckon he will help Gary Gardner become a top player.

If we get a Martinez or Poyet type manager I can see Bannan doing well. If we slow it down and keep the ball on the floor he will be effective.

Guthrie I could accept as a squad player. But Simpson and especially Best - what a joke. Is this McLeish's crack at the big time he was talking about last week? i was 8 when this happened but still don't get it?? He scored i think the 4th against Luton after a really good run, was giving it the old "look at that for a goal" but stuck 2 fingers up at Holte. Can anyone tell me what his problem was and why he did what he did?? he was new to the team, and scored a goal like that, but then sticks two fingers up at the Holte?? I was young aswell when that happened. I seem to remember my dad saying he was getting some stick for being a bit lazy but not sure that would warrant a player to do that to the fans. Big Ron's first season I believe.

I thought that Paul Mortimer was going to be ace. Ended for him after he gave the Holte End 2 fingers. Sad.

Seems a lovely bloke and wish him all the best. Just a shame we signed him 10 years too late. Was never the right signing for us at the time and the fact he has started so many matches this year really is ridiculous.

While it's hard to argue with the job he's done at fulham and west brom for some reason I can't stand Hodgson. For me Lambert would be the best option if we are going for a domestic based manager.

It will be a disgrace if I wake up in the morning and Alex McLeish is still manager of Villa. The longer the season has gone on the worse we have become. There is no way he can get us the results we need now. Our only chance is getting him out and hoping a fresh approach for the last few matches gives us enough to escape.
