The lack of ability isn't even compensated with any fight or desire. Too many attitude problems in the team & the body language is all wrong from some - Weimann, Benteke (of late) and Baker to name a few.

Sorry but the time has come for this thread. I think we are well and truly in a relegation battle AGAIN. Very lucky to be outside of the bottom 3 and it's getting really tight at the bottom. Where is the fight in this side? This is the worst spell of watching Villa since I've been following them. We are one of the most famous clubs, not just in English football, and the players look like they couldn't give a flying **** about wearing the shirt. Pathetic. These players need to take a long hard look in the mirror. How has our club fallen so far?

Are the finances looking any better now? I mean we've shipped out loads of high earners so the wage bill must be considerably lower? Added in with the fact we have higher earnings in the PL due to TV money, shouldn't we be looking much stronger? Anyone got any stats around this at all? What I'm getting at is, we should be able to invest in the squad a little more freely.

How can Bowery ever do anything with 10mins here and there? He needs a loan spell. Players that don't play just rot away. It's like not starting a car for a year - it's not gonna be happy when you try to start it again

The spine of the team is the big problem. When we have Vlaar/Okore available that's a decent centre back pairing. Without them we look very vulnerable. Central midfield even when we have everyone fit is the big concern. I really rate Delph but I think players like Westwood & KEA should be squad players at best. I think Gardner deserves a chance now. Dare I say it but I think CNZ back in the squad would be welcome at the moment too. At times we look ok, but there always looks like an error waiting to happen.

That was far too easy. I think our team really lacks concentration. Baker seemed to completely misread that when it was so obvious what Adam was doing!

We hear so much about these talented youngsters like Grealish. Why aren't they given opportunities to feature in the 1st team? Look at Southampton playing Shaw/Chambers/Ward-Prowse! They only improve and become good if they play. Irritating. Hope when Grealish comes back he plays!

We'll probably have to pay for his goal bonus!

Benteke usually makes things happen. He will win aerial battles with ease, bash players of the ball, hold up the ball well, create chances & lift the crowd. Of late he has done absolutely none of this. He looked awful today. If it's a lack of fitness then why the hell is he playing? If it's a lack of confidence, then that's no excuse for not even trying at times. So I can't get my head around it really. Whatever the score is with him he needs to be dropped until he is fully fit and has the right attitude again. Kozak in the starting XI for me unless during training he looks good both mentally and physically. Of course we won't get to see that.

This side lacks creativity BIG TIME. The only thing we are decent at is counter attacking and we cannot do that against teams that sit back a little. Boring boring boring.

Why is Lambert keeping Benteke on the pitch? He looks lazy today. Should be off the pitch

Have to say Benteke has looked poor lately. He isn't imposing himself on the game at all. If he isn't 100% fit or doesn't have 100% concentration then bring him off. At the start of the season and throughout last season he would be busting a gut to win the ball. Today he looks lifeless. No challenges, not winning 50/50s, no aerial prowess. We need to lead from the front and press. Come on Lambert have a word or bring him off.

This .. I have the same opinion on albrighton. Both can still become good players for us, they just need to get a full season with regular football Good shout regarding Albrighton. These players need to play to secure their futures - be it here or elsewhere! No use sat on the bench. I forgot to put Chris Herd in that mix of midfielders & with talk of Kiyotake or similar I can't see Gardner or Albrighton playing.

There's only really Gabby still to sign a new one isn't there? I meant anyone who has a great season will have the big guns sniffing around. So signing them up usually puts any speculation to bed, I think you're right though the contract situation is in decent order!
