  1. Out of interest, did ypu consider the CWC a major European competition? It was considered to be huge at the time and the ECL may be new, but eventually it will be held in similar regard. In fact, the cup winners of.some countries qualify for the ECL like they used to for the CWC.
  2. At the moment there is a huge feelgood factor and that boosts demand. After several years of top 6 finishes and the CL not being as exciting to the fanbase, attendances will plateau. I think we could currently sell 50k but 60k? No. Not for me. Maybe for the games against the sky6 with all the day trippers but we wouldn't sell out a 60k stadium for a regular PL game. I think 50k is sufficient. Especially given the potential cost of going any higher than that.
  3. Yeah I think the new north stand will happen, but not in the next 5 years or so. As for any further development, I can't see us ever having an above 50k stadium at any point in the near future, which I think is fine as 50k would be enough. Newcastle are a one club city and dont have the problem of many residents within the vacinity of the ground (and across the city) either not being into football or supporting Man United/Liverpool.
  4. How Spurs won that game I'll never know. Even against 9 men, they should have lost.
  5. If havent written him completely off. I said he could make a career in the lower leagues like lots of our other youth products. No way he is staying at Villa though.
  6. Yep and anything we get is pure profit so if we could get a 2 or 3 million bid from someone like Bolton, an upper table League One side, we should take it. And we would I'm sure. I don't think he is at Championship level yet (nor does my QPR mate) but he may be one day.
  7. The biggest problem with Olsen starting is one that isnt even his fault. Its that Emi psychologically makes it more difficult for opponents given his reputation. I honestly think Lille had lost that shootout before it started. Thanks to Emi being stood between the posts. Let's hope Emi is back soon and Olsen can hold the fort in the meantime.
  8. That was more a question of wages. Tim isn't up to the very high standards Unai has set. No shame in that. But Tim won't be at Villa next season.
  9. Yep. Maybe not £100m but certainly not cheap. Unless he decides to run his comtract down and pocket the "transfer fee" in increased wages.
  10. Yes and that's why they have a thread entitled, "Surviving Birmingham". Apparently Villa Park is great to visit, but Birmingham away has always been "nasty". Yep, sounds about right.
  11. Tim needs to he sold not loaned. Ramsey I think may go as Rogers has come in and taken his place, plus we have Buendia coming back. Luiz may go too and I would accept offers for Duran. So we would need to replace Dougie and find a good 2nd striker, but would have 100 mil in sales from those few players alone. Plus the sales you mentioned. Thats without spending our own cash which will be boosted by CL money. Should be a good summer.
  12. Not sure why anyone ever rated this guy but I don't watch the U23's so must have been decent there. He certainly hasn't shown anything for the first team. Needs to drop down a couple of divisions and then I'm sure he can make a decent career. If we can get 2 or 3 million for him then all the better, but there's no way he will be staying as he isn't remotely good enough. (As is shown by Unai's unwillingness to play him)
  13. Draw at Brighton, beat Liverpool and it's all over for sure. Couldn't care less what happens at Palace then as it'll be all about resting players for the final.
  14. I wouldn't risk him if he is touch and go. We are more than capable of picking up a result at Brighton without him, and a point will probably he enough. Rather have him fully fit for the semi and final, plus the last 2 games of the season, instead of taking risks with his injury.
  15. That table shows what an amazing result it was at Arsenal. The only game they've lost this year!
  16. You would think Fiorentina would be all out to avenge last years final defeat so yes. I'd say Brugge is better.
  17. They won't let him go cheaply. And certainly not free.
  18. Maybe they don't expect a man with serious health issues to come back and manage a mid table 3rd tier team in front of 12,000 fans every week.
  19. It gets better. They have a thread entitled "who" (such a shit, poorly moderated mess of a forum) and it's about who they will get as manager if they go down. Potter! Robbins! Edwards! Marsch! Cooper! All seriously being discussed. Even Moyes has been suggested. "We are in the best 25 managerial posts in England" says one idiot. Wtf is wrong with them?
  20. https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/156431-surviving-birmingham/page/2/#comments A whole thread on Norwich forum on how moronic the noses are, with a few mentioning violence against locals at Carrow Rd. Love this comment: "If you have a brain you support Villa, if you like hitting people, you support Birmingham"
