  1. I think that's really what I was getting at. Maybe I didn't explain it well enough and if so that's my fault. But whilst we called him Gabby, the media would always use Agbonlahor or Gabby Agnonlohor but never just Gabby, however if he played for one of the sky 6 they would shorten it to just Gabby. Does this make any sense at all? I'm genuinely not trying to be difficult here.
  2. Without wishing to argue this further, given I, by definition of the thread title, recognise its not something I should really care about, I've never, ever, heard a commentator shout "SWP, ooh that was close", or "what a free kick by JWP". I get the points being made in argument to my initial grievance, but thats just way off what I was saying and totally strawmans my whole post. Anyway, it seems you are more pissed off with me being pissed off about the things that I shouldn't than I was to start with. Let's move on.
  3. Yes it is and no I haven't.
  4. Emery is quoted as not being happy with him. That's not a good sign and shows a lack of professionalism. We need a fully focused Martinez to have any chance of a top half finish so well done to him, but the party is over and we need him focused.
  5. Absolutely. It's just a shame they are getting in our bloody way. :P-)
  6. Brentford currently the 3rd best placed team in London, followed by Fulham. Would have got some odds back in August on that being the case in January!
  7. We started brightly and a had a few before they scored. Had we taken them I think we would have gone on to win as it would have developed into a different match had we scored first.
  8. Ha. I mean they call Man City, "City" but they don't call Leicester City "City"
  9. Brentford winning. We really could have beaten Liverpool. Those missed chances. Bugger.
  10. It's in the thread called things that piss you off that shouldn't so you don't need to get down my throat on everything I post. It's got everything to do with big club bias when they call Man City, City and not Leicester.
  11. This is me. Ended up with over 150 million views across different platforms so some of you may have seen it before.
  12. It really is like this every season: Fluke an opening day win against the run of play, scab a few more wins they don't deserve with the help of several loan players, bang on about promotion, then revert to type, lose every week, slide down the table, sack the manager, fluke a few wins, stay up even if it requires points deductions elsewhere, and rinse, repeat......
  13. But the media don't call them Ollie or Emi. Yet they pundits will talk about Harry and Pep all day long as the bias towards the richer clubs and their players continues. That's why I hate it.
  14. It was a bit tongue in cheek if I'm honest but he does meed to sort his head out now.
  15. Those are all nicknames. Not the sane as calling them by their first names. It's what the biased media do with the Sky6 teams and it does my head in when our fans join them in doing it.
  16. So you call players by their first names? Really? You don't say Ings, Emery, Shearer etc? But instead you refer to them as Danny, Unai and Alan? I don't believe you.
  17. Michael Palin David Attenborough Bobby Charlton Gene Hackman James Earl Jones
  18. People (especially Villa fans) calling rival clubs and players by their media darling, glory hunting pet names. Calling Guardiola "Pep" for instance. F*** right off with that. Calling Man City just "City", or even worse referring to the scousers as "Pool".
  19. Hopefully something along the lines of: "Well done on your medal but sort your f***** head out and get back to work for the team that pay your wages, without whom you wouldn't have even been at the world cup"
  20. Ukraine are joint bidders with Spain and Portugal.
  21. And and an absolute t***** in person. Horrible, arrogant man who hates the fact he never got to play for the biggest club in the region and slags us off because of it.
  22. I really don't think his skin colour should have anything to do with him being hired. I do agree a out the influence on players tho. A model professional like him can only be good to have around the place.
  23. Top 7 is achievable in the next couple of seasons but very much dependent on bringing in some more quality. Talk of top 4 is off the scale levels of delusion. We haven't finished in the PL top half for over a decade and we are on the right track to do so this season but no way are we getting into Europe yet. I'd love to finish 10th and have a real go at the FA Cup. This is a work in progress and it's important us fans recognise that. Talk of top 7 this season is, in my opinion, very premature. I'ts great to feel like we are making progress and going in the right direction though. And that's all we can ask for.
