  1. Is there a more humble and grounded footballer in the premier league? What an absolute gentleman he really is.
  2. I don’t believe for one moment he deserves an improved contract - for the sake of the club and our interests it would probably make sense that his contract does not run down, but I would not offer him a single penny more. Given his contribution since joining the club overall he should be happy to sign anything that the club choose to offer him.
  3. Sorry I can’t help you - I really don’t know anymore. But I think you make a very valid point
  4. Pretty sure I have read that replica shirts are not effected by the same issue?
  5. I believe he has a future at the club. He has not suddenly become a bad footballer in a few short months. In hopefully what is going to be a long old season - I do feel that we will come to appreciate his ability and experiences.
  6. I think you are right and this is why Ollie is not an elite striker - He is probably the best that we can realistically expect at our current stage of transition. I think Emery is making him into a better striker, but I think as you say - he will most likely always be let down by his ball control. But right now he is our main man and one we must be thankful for.
  7. I agree - we have a terrible record at that place and to be fair - Wolves do have some good footballers, they will be comfortably mid table imo
  8. Yes Unai clearly does have faith in Bailey - I just wish, he would give Bertie a bit more game time - I really do think Bertie can offer us things that Bailey cannot.
  9. I think there is a rizla paper between - I would be happy if Isak played for us - but no happier than I am that Ollie plays for us.
  10. Bertie is one of the most naturally gifted players we have ever had the pleasure to watch.imo Yes he is inconsistent but that’s pretty much the same for most wingers. We should just enjoy him, as long as he is here.- He is one of my all time favourite footballers - the goal against the baggies is still ridiculous
  11. I think you are right - I feel that we will be appreciating him as a player come the end of the season
  12. He is doing ok - he is not tearing up any trees let’s have it right. I’m not sure what more you want me to say. You’re making me out to be a hater and I’m certainly not. In fact I think you’ll find my comments on his performance last night were a lot more measured than a lot of others I have read. When everyone if fit - I suggest he will be no where near the starting 11, but I think he will be the beneficiary of JJ’s setback - so it’s up to him to grasp this opportunity
  13. On the other hand - you seem to read into his game a lot more than many ? I guess at the end of the day it boils down to opinions For me Bailey has been very poor overall in his time at the club - I have nothing against the guy - I just don’t rate him, anywhere nearly as highly as you do, and he still has a way to go, before I can say to you, that his time here can be qualified as a success? Surely even you would have to admit this, if for instance he left the club today ? I see things in other players that appeal to me a lot more - as I said it’s all about opinions
  14. Think your stretching this just a bit too far - He was ok, nothing more than this - Bertie looked a lot more assured in his cameo and motm for me despite only playing 45 was Digne
  15. I haven’t ever really took to Castore for whatever reason ? I’ve read that Newcastle have invoked an early release clause from their kit deal - I wonder if we have any similar clause in our contract ? I would like to see us in an adidas kit - We have been quite diverse since the seventies with Umbro, Le coq sportif Nike, Macron, Hummel, Kappa, Under armour, Luke etc - but never seemed to have any speculation towards adidas. Could this soon change ??
  16. Fair point - I don’t really mind tbh. I do acknowledge if our lads are getting call ups, then we must also be getting the benefits of their form
  17. I fully understand what you are saying and don’t disagree really. Just purely being selfish from an Aston Villa point of view
  18. Do we really care ? I get from his personal and professional point of view, he will be hoping - but from our point of view I really don’t care
  19. I would disagree - yes a poor game today, but I don’t see any problems with his touch. He will be a regular starter for us imo
  20. I think your right - guess it’s just the case of he who pays the piper maybe ?
  21. I just loved how he celebrated the goals today - this man is a legendary villan already. I think he gets, the size of the club, the tradition, the expectation of us fans - pretty remarkable really given that, he is not English. we are lucky indeed to have him - we just have to trust him. He won’t let us down
  22. Reminds me of Des Walker in his prime.
  23. I agree - I’m sure the kid wasn’t trying to cause insult to anyone - maybe one of the senior pro’s e.g Tyrone or SJM could pull him to one side - but nothing more imo
  24. Sorry to continue to beat this drum - but we have 3 top drawer players injured - new signings still settling in - I don’t see how he can even know his best 11 as yet. I’m of the opinion - we will hand out a few hidings come the new year. My only gripe - and this is purely self indulgent as I absolutely love the player - he doesn’t give enough minutes to Bertie
