  1. This 'more or less' subs argument cannot be proven either way and as such is a pretty pointless debate as is what's Jack's best position? For now I'm just enjoying the great season we've had so far. In Deano I trust!
  2. I think we've done well this season in spreading the goals around without the need to change too much. Could do with a good DM though if we can find a decent one. Someone in the Viera, Yaya Toure, Nzonzi mould would be good IMO
  3. Thought he was a bit better last night after being particularly lazy against Burnley. Needs to add consistency to his game.
  4. I thought he was awful last night and the reason why Trezeguet should have replaced him early in the 2nd half IMO
  5. What an absolutely fantastic back 5 we now have. Each and everyone one of them are least worth double than what we paid for them! Doing a quick calculation I thing we paid less for all 5 of them than Manure paid for Harry MaGuire which is truly incredible!
  6. Or the local kebab shops fearing liquidation should be be sacked
  7. Agree 100%. Patience is important. Buying, for buyings sake is no longer necessary. Every player we buy now has to be better or at least equal to what we already have. 2 more summer transfer windows should really see us competing at the top.
  8. Fully agree with this. We've got plenty in the team who are capable of scoring (seen it all season). There's no pressure to buy or loan a striker at this stage of our development IMO
  9. Good luck Fred. He gives his all but not good enough for us unfortunately.
  10. You've got a point there. He's not been at his best lately but tomorrow's another day.
  11. It's not 11pm on Monday yet! 2 players out today (Lansbury and Guilbert) has got me thinking!
  12. I think Sanson will come on for Barkley at some point tomorrow. Barkley can't last for 90 mins at the moment IMO
  13. Completely agree with this. I don't see Barkley as a 'team player'. I noticed him barely running in the 2nd half and he completely pulled out of 2 tackles he could easily have won. I see similarities with him and how Darren Bent used to play in that he only comes to life when he has the ball and he's lazy without it!
  14. tbf...he wasn't on the pitch for very long! Very little time to get into the pace of the game. It's always difficult coming with very few minutes left to play
  15. Should have come on for Barkley last night IMO
  16. Agree, unfairly left out for Barkley imo
  17. It's really difficult to criticize Deano after the improvements we have made this season but I think at 2-1 last night we needed to sub Barkley and Traore. Barkley could barely run and ducked out on a couple of tackles. Cash was exposed down our right side and had insufficient support from Traore. For me Nakamba for Barkley and Trezeguet for Traore First post so don't be too harsh on me
  18. Firstly, thank you for allowing me to join Villa Talk. I am a longstanding Villa fan (since 1959). My first Villa game coincided with the great Jonny Dixon's last game in a claret and blue shirt. I have (so far) managed to see Villa play in 54 league grounds (including both grounds that Cardiff City have played in). I have also seen Villa play in Germany, Belgium and of course in Holland (Rotterdam 82)! I have had many favourite players over the 62 years. Colin Withers, Charlie Aitken, Alex Cropley, Andy Gray from the 60s, 70s. Cowan's, Withe, Shaw, Rimmer from the 80s. Merson, Bosnich, Taylor, McGrath from the 90s ( there are too many to name). Getting a bit more up to date I love watching Jack, Alan Hutton (for his loyalty and professionalism. I'm really enjoying the way we are playing under Dean Smith....playing to win and entertaining at the same time (not too many managers) manage to achieve both! Best wishes to fellow Villans around the globe. UTV
