  1. Never seen England succeed. It's so close now we can taste it. Come on England!
  2. I think the brief for employing him could only have been "Who's worse than Lawro?". Not only miserable, Murphy is often biased and blatantly doesn't watch football outside of the sky 6.
  3. Upon seeing the Ukraine lineup and formation, it looks to me like a 532. There's going to be little space in behind. Would have been better starting Foden and Jack in place of Sterling and Sancho. Bring them on when the game is stretched, but it's going to be hard to break Ukraine down playing the way we have been, and with tonight's lineup.
  4. As dominant as Spain have been since the sending off, to me the Swiss look like it just means more to them. Been very impressed.
  5. Just a thought, but Arsenal might be playing hardball with ESR because they have a lad coming through called Charlie Patino, who by all accounts is potentially a special, special, talent. Charlie can play anywhere in midfield, from a deeper role right through to a 10, and he was given his first professional contract last season. I know Charlie's uncle who sends us all the reports etc. Not saying Arsenal want to let ESR go, but they might be hardballing him over the contract because there is another talent coming through.
  6. Wouldn't have called that result pre match, but Super Jack is that definition of game changer. It's coming home!
  7. I feel sorry for the fans who got tickets. We've sat through McLeish and Bruce and I was never this negative.
  8. The worst thing is, there's 5 or 6 world class, or potentially world class, attacking players that we can build a side around for the next two tournaments. Kane, Jack, Foden, Mount, Bellingham, Saka, Sancho etc. He's playing two of them, and one is dropping so deep he'll be closer to Pickford than Neuer. I don't hate Southgate because of his history with Villa, but I do despise him for wasting these generational talents.
  9. Don't forget we get to see him cut inside every time he gets the ball, try to dribble, and fall over.
  10. Is he going to play 5-2-3 or the formation from the first 3 games? Personally can see him going for 5-2-3 with only 3 attacking players, Sterling, Kane and one from Jack or Foden. The Germans will control the game and we'll have no chances. Can't wait. Hope I'm wrong though.
  11. Dramatic game, great showpiece event. Also, AWJ ruled out of lions tour with dislocated shoulder.
  12. He looked very worried. Fingers crossed for him. Lions have already tweeted he's got a shoulder injury. Good score by Adams.
  13. Yes! Lions time. Rugby on, beers out, not moving. Quickly followed by premiership final.
  14. He's the biggest name player in world football not at "big" club. We're going to get this every season until he goes or he retires. Until the club say they've accepted a bid then I'll treat these media stories with the utter disdain they deserve.
  15. Don't get me wrong, rivalry is the heartbeat of any competitive sport, but coming from the sun it's both ugly and sinister.
  16. Can't wait for some xenophobic baiting from The Sun over the next few days. Hun, Jerry, etc....
  17. It's worth it, if you get a critical or heavy finish you blind everyone around you. Don't think this version of AC was made for sneaking, so the sword is really useful. I played melee all the way through too. I don't get much time to play either, but I got into this during lockdown whilst shielding so had sooo much free time on my own. Kids soon put a stop to that when things eased! Not played anything since, except the Irish expansion. Good add-on I thought, although I stopped using Excalibur as I wanted to try another style. I dual wielded mjolnir with another hammer instead. I got Thor's armour which increases your speed massively, and mjolnir has a stun bonus. Great for scuffles.
  18. Hopefully having the Emi's in already will help him settle. 20 y.o. forward capped by Argentina already. Nice.
  19. I'd be very surprised to see him leading any club after the tournament. Between the last World Cup and the poor showing so far, he's shown himself to be a very negative manager, however for all his negativity we've not looked particularly solid as a defensive unit. The Scots would, and probably should, have scored 2 or 3 had they a striker who could finish his dinner. We were pinned back against Croatia for large parts of the 2nd half. He's not even that "good" at being negative. We've also had 3 shots on target in total so far. Against a very poor Croatia and hugely unfancied Scotland. At the moment he's a poor man's McLeish. Southgate is unemployable in my eyes. He may get a DoF job somewhere, like a previous poster alluded to, unless he takes a break from football for a few years and the passage of time inevitably improves his reputation.
  20. I love the entitlement from their fans, Sky, and the club. They've not won a title or European trophy in decades, yet they act like they're a huge club who deserve the most high profile managers. They've got a shiny new ground, good for them, but that ground isn't just for Spurs. It's to be used by the owners to generate more money for them by have concerts and NFL games. Sky's coverage of them in recent years has only stoked the ego of those associated with them. They're certainly no bigger than us, Leeds, Everton, Newcastle etc. Seeing the meltdown is brilliant, and made all the more enjoyable because they act like proper big time charlies. When Kane leaves and they're still looking for a manager I hope they finally get a sense of who they are. Nothing against them being successful, but they simply haven't been in any measurable way and yet they act the way they do.
  21. Agree entirely. All three are a step up on Linekar, Jenas, Murphy, Morrison, Merson etc etc. I really rate Alex Scott too, great knowledge and very enthusiastic.
  22. When we appointed Sven, Capello, and maybe even Fat Sam I don't think they appointed yes men. Agree about Clough though. You raise a good point who selects the England manager though. Historically, and especially more recently, it has been done by old men who are more interested in generating revenue than the good of the game, and this needs to change.
