On a slightly different note. Whenever I was ill from school my mum would write the most graphically revolting sick notes. (she was a nurse btw) Instead of 'Sam as ill yesterday with a bit of a tummy bug' it was ' Sam was violently vomiting during the early hours of the morning. After a dose of salts he then proceeded to vomit green bile and last nights dinner'

My Dad just jumped departments..going from Connexions to Social care. Apparently the council want to get down to 5 buidings. So he's doing 'hot desking' which, as a man of 56, pisses him off greatly.

It's **** stupid in theory. I'm not trying to make out i'm a heroic drinker but that I seem to have a mental block on alcohol during the week. Come the weekend I have my hand up every half hour getting a new one in. The atmosphere in the place I go to helps aswell. They basically give us 2 for 1 on beer and we have our own table that they keep for us.

Well that's the thing I don't know I'm doing it but when I settle at the end of the night I get an itemised bill. More often than not there'll be around 15 beers on there. During the week I haven't the need for alcohol or particularly want it...

I'm strange when it comes to alcohol. I mean, during the week I just don't fancy it. Sometimes we'll imbibe a bottle of wine with an evening meal but I rarely finish the glass. Leaving an opened bottle around for a few weeks maybe. However on the weekend..it's chug central. You'll find me guzzling 15-17 pints over a 6 hour period and really going for it....

Honeymoon in Beirut? :confused: Yeah, what's wrong with that? Wonderful city and cheap beer. Lovely architecture and atmosphere. nothing wrong with it, but not normally a place you associate with honeymooners! you didn't fancy lying in a hammock on a private beach on a island in the Maldives? Nah, something like that would bore the shit out of me (and my wife). Much prefer walking around an old quarter or old church than wasting the day in a hammock.
