  1. Yeah, fair enough to be honest. We agree that they are both washed up though. Hardly a 'disgrace' to compare where the two are now (one a free agent and the other in Turkey).
  2. Alli was one of the best attacking mids in world football for 3 years under Poch. Was worth £100m + at one point and fell off a cliff. Hardly a million miles apart. Isco terminated his contract after 120 days at Sevilla because he couldn't get a game under Sampaoli. Will he turn it around? Don't really fancy finding out to be honest.
  3. There is no reality check. We didn’t buy anyone late in the window because there wasn’t the right player available for Emery. We topped the form table for January with the starting 11 we have now plus Duran, Carlos and Traore added. We will certainly be above 15th, that’s madness.
  4. Worryingly this would still be a better set up than when Xia and Wyness ran the club.
  5. This.... this has to be a joke right? I googled it, it seems to be a real person? It's an actual name of a person?
  6. He's back, the one and only CJ "total bullshit" Golson!!
  7. He's already U-turned twice more since that post mate. Get with it.
  8. Fake account, you've been done like a kipper son.
  9. Not a chance in hell Coutinho leaves unless someone is literally signing paperwork right this second. John McGinn would be our attacking options off the bench for god's sake.
  10. Ahh the sweet sweet smell of relegation threatened desperation signings.
  11. Can see us being in for Gallagher. Brings energy and high tempo. Right up Emery's street. Not for £40m though, not close.
  12. Unfortunately, the end of the window will probably only heighten their levels of moaning and questioning. Especially if we were to lose to Leicester.
  13. I shall never again doubt the Shaun Teales Moustache!
  14. Pop over to the Ramsey thread good sir, it’s all there.
  15. Opened VT Jan 2023 transfer page, 4 windows of online poker and set out on Led Zeppelin 1 (currently on 5) on YouTube at around 6pm tonight and haven't seen a f**king embedded transfer tweet or theTrees calling in a light aircraft all night. This ganga is going back in the morning I can tell you (OK it's not but I'm disappointed).
  16. Huge fan of Jacob so I am a little biased. Conor has been a victim of playing for Chelsea this season, that has been a huge hindrance to him. As a club, they barely know their arse from their elbow at the moment. If he was at Villa they'd make a hell of a pairing.
  17. A bigger U-turn than the Truss-Kwarteng mini budget.
  18. I hear you mate, but Ramsey is in the top 5 midfielders in the league for tackles, recoveries in the offensive half and defensive half and interceptions. He snaps a whole lot better than Gallagher for me. Connor is a lot of huff and not a lot of puff.
  19. The Everton goal to go 2-3 up was the most madness I've ever witnessed outside of actually being at VP. It was utterly iconic. I was sat in a bar in Scotland at Uni. The bar was totally partisan Everton with supporters of other teams who were vying for top 6 supporters (or Scots who hated Villa for no reason) except me on our table and another guy with a Laursen shirt on across the bar with his mates. Game was being shown on a massive projector screen above the bar. Pre-match I took a fair bit of heat from tables around me, when we went 0-1 up early I took even more. By the time it was 2-2 late on with their equalizer me and my sole comrade were looking for a quick exit due to the boisterousness of the general crowd in there. When young Ashley robbed that absolute frigate of a center back, cantered up the pitch and slammed it into the bottom corner, my man across the room veritably drenched a poor girl in salsa as he did his best Shamu impression over the table (these were high tables with stools) in celebration. I completely lost it. Just chucked my pint and ran around like a madman for about 30 secs. This man I have never met, we just did this odd dance in the middle of a huge group of pissed off scousers, mancs and Scots who just wanted us to lose. It was surreal, it was glorious. The game felt like a cup final even though it was just an evening Prem game. It encapsulated the drama that only the Premier League can deliver. Cold, wet, drama at that. Thanks Ash, it was one of my favorite ever games.
