A bit of a reality check against Newcastle. Some of our players let him down. With all the talk about being back in Europe and aiming for Top 4, sometimes the team get too far ahead of themselves and forget it's a new season and we are starting on 0 points again. He needs to keep pushing for the players he wants over the next few weeks.

He just doesn't fit what we need or our style of play. Unfortunately he is the type of player who will come out and have a good game now and we will think he has turned a corner. Then he will go missing for another 6 games !

He has done ok so far off the bench.

Iker Alvarez is a good young keeper but only just signed a new deal. Alex Remiro would be a great backup keeper that we could rely on.

The Olsen mistakes came first followed by the criticism, not the other way round. Its the coaching staff's job to build his confidence not the fans. He always looks so nervous and just doesn't look comfortable. Let's see how he goes in the rest of the pre season games !

I think he's showing enough to keep in the squad for this season.

He definitely showed good improvement from the Newcastle game. Injury free game time is so important for him at the moment.

He will be so far behind the rest of the squad when he comes back !

Its just impossible to have any confidence in him. You just wait for a mistake to happen ! Another keeper is so important with so many games coming this season.

Lucky we had him on the bench. He did well when he came on.

He just needs a goal or 2 in this pre season for confidence and he will be fine !

Maybe all the LAZY media links for us have been exhausted so its gone quiet. The club are working away behind the scenes on the REAL targets.

Now the transfer window is open hopefully we can move Sanson and Nakamba on pretty quickly. Then Davis, Hause, Wesley and Traore. Followed by Olsen. That would be a decent clean out of the players that are not good enough for us currently. Keep Chambers for his utility and experience.

Youri Tielemans (confirmed) Harvey Barnes Nico Williams New No2 Gk This would be a very good window for us in our current position. If we also add any of the following , than it would be a fantastic window. CB- Pau Torres or similiar Winger- Striker- Midfielder- It may depend on who we can sell. It's likely Tim Iroegbunam will be part of our squad this season.

This transfer window is pivotal if we want to keep progressing. Can we land that "Bigger name" that will improve us and increase our chances of getting more bigger name players. This window has to be our best chance over previous years. I feel its the reward our owners deserve for all their efforts since buying us and will give the clubs profile a much needed boost into the future.

Harvey Barnes would be a great addition now Emery is our coach. He has the ability to get players to focus and stay focused.

Lets give him time to get over his injuries and see what this season brings for him. He might still be able to offer an impact off the bench especially with extra games coming this season.

Is it possible UE was told something along the lines of - You can spend 50-60 Million in January on transfers or just save that for the summer, which means you will have 150-160 and you might get better overall value with transfers for the squad. Plus extra time to sell off a couple more players which boosts the spending total even more. UE might think its a better bargaining tool to tell player A if they sign we will also be bringing player B and C into the squad in the same window which adds more quality to the squad.

He has been working his way back to fitness after missing a couple of months with injury. Lets hope he is about to hit form for the remainder of the season.

Maybe Olsen has been training to play as a striker for the rest of the season !

If we couldn't convince/get the deals done for our targets in this window, will it actually be any easier to sign them in the summer ? Its unlikely that we will be able to offer european football as an incentive. Maybe we were just a tad too ambitious with our targets for where we are at the moment. Which is great if true but we might be another season with a decent league finish for those targets Plenty to think about for the transfer team !
